Feel free to relax in the living room or enjoy a coffee before you head out.
Think "Grandma's Cottage". Think Quaint. This is cottage living, not BIG CITY. If you are looking for Big city, move along, because there is no point in renting it and not being satisfied!! We have some floor creaks and groans. This home is 70 years old!
A 690 ft 2 bedroom cottage style home built in 1948 and added onto later resulting in a unique floor plan.
You need to understand that the house is a "work in progress" and we are constantly updating and fixing it. We acquired this home with just a shower stall (no tub)and it is an older one. It is perfectly clean and serviceable, however even though it has been cleaned it will look dull due to the hard water residue. It is a little off balance, and the water will stand a bit if it is not squeegeed at the end of a shower. While we plan on changing it out, it is not on our immediate list as it is truly functional. Also, in a community with hard water, we find that after a few days, there will be some mineral depost (pink and grey) to deal with in the toilet. This is all quite normal I assure you. We currently do not have a water softener.
This year we plan on working on the outside painting. The house is actually peeling, and during our July vacation, we will be staying there and getting that fixed up.
Open kitchen and living room space with tons of daylight and modern fixtures. Quiet street on the south side of town, but close enough to walk to the stores. Great neighbors. Great Neighborhood.
We have stayed in the local motel, and we guarantee this is better.

About the host
Hosted by Shannon Rothlander

We grew up in the Wadena and Margo areas of Saskatchewan. We bought these properties in anticipation of our eventual retirement from the North, and boy do I mean North! We currently live in Thompson Manitoba, but use the Wadena property as our resting spot when we visit.
Why they chose this property
We bought these properties in anticipation of our eventual retirement from the North, and boy do I mean North! There are two properties, and one is still rented out, while we have decided to use this one as our resting spot when visiting. We use it biweekly for a few days.
What makes this property unique
Small, everything is close by in Wadena. The added benefit of having internet, and access to a nearby water park and golf course in the Summer Months. In the winter, my large open yard is close to the outskirts of town for any snowmobile enthusiasts who might want to take a tour of the surrounding areas. Wadena is well known for the wetlands and its bustling Museum.
