Spacious Gite in Tarn sleeps 2 (3 stars) nr Lautrec and Castres, Tarn,SW France

The property, originally a farmhouse, was first built in the 18th century. Set in 1.75 acres of land including large garden/orchard to relax in. On the south side there are views to the Montagne Noire behind which are the Pyrenees; to the westside are open views over the orchard towards Lautrec village. If you like bird watching this is the place to stay. To the east is our vegetable field with more fruit trees!
Gite Martinet (rated 3 stars) sleeps two and is large and spacious. It has an open plan kitchen / living area with fridge freezer and dishwasher, mezzanine level bedroom with king size bed and en-suite shower room. There is an additional sitting room for you to read and relax in. For winter lets the wood burning stove will keep you warm and cosy.

We had a fabulous stay in this gite. Location good for exploring the area (we love walking and cycling). Gite itself is brilliant. Very well thought out and equipped to provide everything you could wish for on hols. The owners are very welcoming and helpful . Would recommend this gite.

Comfort, countryside and Castres

We had a wonderful week at this lovely conversion. Sheda gave us a lovely welcome, including a fire already lit in the woodburning stove to ward of a chilly evening, and a really lovely bottle of wine from a local vineyard. The property is really well, situated close to delightful villages like Lautrec driving through gorgeous Southern French countryside, but with all the convenience and amenities of the pretty town of Castres just 10 minutes away. There’s brilliant information available about all aspects of your stay, and Tom also popped by to make sure all was working well. Recommended.

Agradable estancia a 5 km de Lautrec

Casa espaciosa, perfectamente acondicionada y equipada con todos los detalles para disfrutar de una agradable estancia. Cuenta con terraza y zona verde con varios lugares preparados para descansar, aprovechar el sol y disfrutar del canto de los pájaros a cualquier hora del día. Stay in the countryside

The owners converted a barn into a lovely, well furnished gite. Although the only source of heat was a wood stove, we stayed comfortably warm. It's a great location to relax and take walks in the countryside.

Beautiful accommodation in a lovely rural lication

We had a wonderful holiday. Accommodation was perfect and Tom and Sheda were very friendly and helpful. The gite had a very comfortable king sized bed and comfortable sitting and was very well equipped with lots of books and dvds. We would certainly recommend this gite for a relaxing, get away from it all holiday.

Gite near Lautrec

This is a lovely gite in a rural position. The property was faultless and extremely well equipped. Set in a large garden in which to while away the time. The owners were very welcoming and helpful whilst still remaining unobtrusive. Would recommend this gite to anyone.

We have travelled to many places in our lives from the Canary Islands to Kenya, but we are always happy to return to our 'little Tuscany' in France.

Why they chose this property

The property itself was ideal for us not too big and not too small. It is rural but not isolated less than 5 kms to Lautrec or nearest town is 10 kms to Castres. Both of these places are great to visit.

The airports to us are of equal distance from Carcassonne or Toulouse - you choose.
