Craig & Shauna I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay. Next time I hope you stay longer and have a chance to visit some of the neighborhood treasures.
My sister and I really loved this beautiful home!! It was very Clean and Comfortable. A home away from home. The owner was very nice and helpful. We most certainly recommend this property when visiting Detroit!

Decent place of the price
We enjoyed our stay. The property matched the description. We were generally pleased with our visit. The neighborhood was quiet and felt decently safe. The host was amazing and communicative. Check in and out instructions were clear and reasonable.
ChaCha's Place is a neighborhood standout with a white picket fence, quaint porch and interior! Everything was cozy and comfortable ... couch, beds, pillows! Well equipped kitchen too. We were even greeted by welcome snacks .. such a nice surprise! Rhonda was a great host, even answering the phone after 10pm when we mistakenly locked ourselves out (no realizing the door handle locked had been locked!)! Location made it easy to access downtown Detroit while enjoying the quiet of a neighborhood.
I’ve stayed in this house three times. I have nothing but praise. Owner got back to me super fast before and even during my stay with any questions. I was even more impressed this last stay due to upgrades. Every room now has queen size beds and tvs in every room. Also fresh paint and stain in entry and stairs. I highly recommend this property.

Doug I am so happy you enjoyed your stay. I have spent the winter doing upgrades to make my home more comfortable. I’m so glad you enjoyed your Detroit visit. Please come again.
The place was clean, had everything we needed, and was nicely decorated. There was ample space. Parking (street) was easy. You need a car here.
There are 3 separate bedrooms. Note that one bed is very high up, so it might be hard for mobility-challenged or short people to use. (Pots and pans were stored a bit high up as well, so hard to reach, but I didn't cook so didn't use them.) The house is older, and I noticed that my bedroom door would pop open if I stepped on certain parts of the floor, so I put a bag behind it to keep it shut at times.
The kitchen was well-stocked (and even had a tea kettle, which we appreciated, along with a Keurig for coffee), and was clean.
Good communication with hosts.
I'm a bit fragrance-sensitive, and did notice that the sheets smelled like they had been washed with a scented detergent, but it wasn't too overwhelming. I did choose a bed that seemed slightly less fragrant (perhaps some linens had been washed separately). I did unplug the plug-in air freshener in the dining room for the duration of our stay.
The neighborhood in general seemed mostly quiet, and typical of many areas of Detroit - well taken care of houses on or near streets with some burned out houses. There was a late night street party one night a few blocks away (it was a holiday weekend), but we had no trouble.
I would stay here again.

Monica thank you for your thoughtful review. My home is a historic home and does have a personality. I strive for every visit to be special for each guest. Visit again. I’d love to have you stay.
We had an awesome stay at Motor City Must Stay! The house was clean and centrally located in a quiet neighborhood. We were able to take Uber's into the city with no troubles. Rhonda was very quick to respond to our messages and was very friendly throughout communication. At first, we booked ChaCha's Place Retreat but were moved across the street to Motor City Must Stay (another one of Rhonda's properties) due to repairs. We had concerns at first given the suddenness of location change, however this was quickly alleviated by Rhonda's attentiveness and understanding. We had a memorable stay and great first experience of Detroit and definitely recommend to those traveling in the area to stay at one of Rhonda's properties!
We had such a lovely stay here. The property was welcoming and felt safe, the neighborhood was quiet and the neighbors we met were friendly. It was in a good location, 10 minute drive to everything and very bikeable. One funny thing - I wouldn't recommend staying here with people you don't know well, as the bedrooms are all right next to each other and two of the three doors do not close and the bathroom does not lock. Families and close friends will have a comfortable stay with space to relax and a porch to watch the fireflies.

West side home
My communication with Rhonda, the house owner, was overall pleasant. She took the time to check in when we were late and generally responded quickly to texts. She was helpful when we spoke and welcoming with water in the fridge.
The house was cute and decorated nicely. One set back was the cleanliness of the floors and visible dust in corners, under the bed, air conditioning, under the tub etc. It smelled like it was cleaned but it just was rather dirty in certain spots that were visible. When we showered, our feet were very dirty from the floors.
There were areas with open wires so I really wouldn’t feel safe if I had a child with me but being adults we navigated.
The back door did not shut properly without a piece of wood across it.. this was not ideal given that every Uber drive we had shared the neighborhood was not the safest. We did not feel unsafe in the home and neighbors were friendly, however; definitely not validating seeing the wood across the door.
Overall we managed and it was close with an Uber to get to downtown etc which is where we spent most of our time anyway. Sheets were clean and beds were comfortable.
This property is not in a safe neighborhood and we did not feel comfortable staying with the kids. The back door has a 2x4 as an extra lock, you don't see that in the pictures. A simple Google search didn't help with seeing the crime rate 496% higher than the national average.
Vrbo customer service did not offer a refund as we "cancelled". We actually arrived and left within about 30 minutes and had to find alternative accommodations. The host was easy to get a hold of but I received less than half of my trip total as a refund. I should have the entire trip refunded as if the pictures reflected accurately, I never would have booked.
We were in the middle of a high crime area, with little kids, no full refund, and no support from Vrbo. Do not stay here!!!
Chacha's place exceeded our expectations and we had an amazing stay. The check in/out process was easy as pie, the house is clean, comfortable and has more space than expected, and Rhonda was an excellent hose. She responded quickly and clearly communicated at all times, helped with any issues that came up (although there were few), and was a great host in general. The neighborhood felt safe and was quite, and is conveniently located to all things in downtown Detroit. We couldn't have asked for a better stay and look forward to making a stay at Chacha's place an annual event!
Cha cha’s place was a fine place to stay for my family of 6 for a couple days. The location is quite centrally located to what we were planning on doing. We have young kids, and the upstairs bedroom doors were difficult to shut in one room and the bed was in the way in the other. The window air conditioners did a fine job of cooling the rooms down quickly and efficiently. The fridge was cold and freezer worked well for our needs. We met some of the neighbors while outside and they were all very kind people. I appreciated this very much.
The floors may have had polish on it but my kiddos seemed to be quite dirty after running around for awhile, but it was not filthy by any means. The artwork on the walls was absolutely beautiful and Rhonda’s style is super. Check in was super efficient and she was easily contacted if we had questions. Check out processes were easy and not stressful. Thank you for a good visit to Detroit!
The house was great, and plenty of room and amenities for 3 adults. Felt like home for a long weekend, and would definitely recommend.

Pat I enjoyed your group. You enjoyed my home, neighborhood and location. It's so easy to navigate Detroit from my home base. I try to create a home away feel for my guests. Happy to know your trip was smooth and comfortable.
This property was great and had almost everything you would need. The Wifi was fast and the porch was very relaxing. The shower has low pressure, but not something that would make this property a dealbreaker. I would definitely stay again. Thanks for the hospitality.

In the warmer months it's so nice to be able to quickly travel downtown and anywhere in Detroit due to the proximity to the freeways.
Welcome back anytime!
This is a beautiful, cozy home on a quiet block. We enjoyed the fact that we were close to downtown. I will definitely stay again..

It was a joy to host you and your group. So respectful of my home and neighborhood. Thanks for choosing ChaCha's Place.
So I had a last minute personal trip I needed to make to Detroit. This booking was a life saver. Rhonda was quick to respond, the perfect balance between attentive but not too much and the property was perfect. This house is sooo cute. I especially like the fence around the house. It really sets it apart. The house is just around the corner from the Motown Museum and it’s close to the freeway which made getting downtown easy.
