About the host
Hosted by Johanna Masket

I started to travel to Tunisia after marrying my husband. I am American and my husband is originally Tunisian. We enjoy traveling and have lived all over the world. I love experiencing different cultures. That is why we renovated this traditional Arab house. While there, one of my favorite things is to wake up in the morning take the Kayak out and swim. We are alone with the fishermen. It is magical.
Why they chose this property
I have always wanted to have a traditionally Arab house with a courtyard in the center. I love the outdoor and indoor living. The many sitting areas are very inviting. I take advantage of each sitting area and terrace at different times of the day. The terrace sitting area is great in the afternoon with cool breeze, the courtyard in morning and the top terrace early evening. The house is also very comfortable with new modern fixtures and appliances and is well insulated with very think stone walls..
What makes this property unique
The setting of the house is very unique. It is located in the Medina or old city with its narrow alleys and beautiful traditional doors. It is located next to an historic Spanish fort. It creates a very authentic experience. Also, the fact that the house is only 2 to 3 minutes from the water makes it really special. Finally, it is walking distance from all you need - shopping, restaurants, cafes, markets
