This property is nestled on the east side of Lake Paradise, just southwest of Mattoon, Illinois. The home has a private master bedroom with a king bed and closet. The second bedroom is also private and has 2 queen beds. This property is furnished in a relaxing lake house style with a sun room, garage, fireplace and smart TV's with internet. Access to the lake with a private dock and outside seating. Sit on the couch and watch the bald eagles. Lake Paradise does not have a beach and we don't recommend swimming.

This cottage is the kind of place that makes you want to stay and go nowhere and just enjoy the views, morning coffee in the the glassed in and air conditioned porch, or relaxing in a chair on the dock watching the turtles and fish. Same can be said for enjoying a beverage in the evening while grilling out.Going for walks and having fun riding the paddle boat also recommended. Loved it and will definitely be staying again in the future.
We had a wonderful stay on Paradise Lake! The adorable cottage is well appointed with all the comforts of home. The view from the living room is a beautiful view of the lake. It was peaceful and relaxing. The location is well lit at night. We appreciated all the amenities this place offered! We will be back to this hidden gem again!! Thanks for sharing your cottage, Tom and Salisa! And thank you, Laurie, for the smooth and quick input and communication when we had questions! Much appreciated!
This place gelt like home. Everything was perfect. The neighbors were griendly and the home was so aforable and perfect. We will definitely be back. Perfect half way point to meet my sister. The fishing was great also.
Just the right amount of privacy and activities available. The home was decorated so beautifully and I appreciated it being fully stocked! I will definitely be back!
We came to town to stay near the eclipse, and this cabin was great! It was super cozy and comfortable! We enjoyed the lake views and relaxing atmosphere! If we’re ever adventuring this way again, we’ll be back!
Thanks!
We really enjoyed our stay here! We loved how well decorated and comfortable the house was. It was also very well stocked with anything you may have forgotten. We would definitely stay again!
When we arrived, we were amazed at this hidden gem. The entire place had an inviting vibe, from the bedrooms to the dock. It was beyond comfortable, with several areas to sit and catch up with family. The hosts could not have set this place up any better. We will return next year.
This is our fifth time staying here and as always wonderful. We actually had an emergency and needed to stay longer and the owner Tom worked with us. I highly recommend this beautiful home along with the 2 others he owns on this lake.
Beautiful home and view of the lake. Overall wonderfull experience. Host was warm and welcoming. Only thing would be privacy. The neighbors next door were sitting out
Awesome stay. Cottage is beautiful with everything you need. Just bring your suitcases. The only downfall was the Lake being so low. Would definitely stay there again.

Why they chose this property
We purchased this property so we could have a nice quiet place to get away from the grind of daily living. We stay several days a month depending on bookings. It's great to spend a weekend there relaxing with friends, maybe doing a little fishing or roasting hot dogs on the fire pit. Great little lake for unwinding.
What makes this property unique
it's a quiet place to unwind, do a little fishing, take out the peddle boat or kayak or just read a book. Just moments from Amish communities, wineries and Lake Shelbyville. The closest beach is at Lake Mattoon and is 6.2 miles from the cabin.
