This is the rare (in my experience) place where the post neither exaggerates or downplays the reality of the place. It is exactly what it looks like - a comfortable, homey, somewhat older but clearly cared for house sitting smack on top of a beautiful lake. The hosts are very open about what they have recently upgraded (lots) and what is still in need (most notably the bathroom/shower). This felt like staying at a grandparents’ lake house, in all the good ways.
A few particulars; the kayaks and pontoon boats are wonderful. Heed the warnings about the times of day when the winds pick up - they make the paddle back a real challenge.
The bed is comfortable if you like a soft mattress, not so much if you don’t. It is very soft.
Todd, the host, is extremely responsive and helpful.
The deck and hot tub (a recent upgrade!) are perfect.
