The Paul and Marcie House is filled with memories of my parents, my brother, and even me. I have replaced what was once paneling and dark woodwork to bring the light and airiness my mother always wished for. There are many childhood relics, including vintage Sports Illustrated magazines, comic books, 45 rpm records, Valentines from my father's elementary school years, and even a Pig Extractor from my grandparents' farm. My endearing chickens live nearby, and you'll get to sample their eggs!

Host is fantastic. Good and comfortable communication. The house is clean with plenty of amenities. Fresh eggs provided by the host were a bonus and yummy for breakfast. Highly recommend this rental.

Ken and Laura were wonderful guests. They indulged me by looking at my pet chickens and even took me out to dinner. They were prompt in communicating and left the house in tiptop condition. I look forward to their next visit.😊
Absolutely the cleanest and nicest place I’ve ever stayed. The breakfast foods in the fridge were a great bonus to have a homemade breakfast on the road. Loved seeing all of the antiques as well. Highly recommend!!

Lisa and her family were ideal guests! They left the house in picture perfect condition. Lisa was a very good communicator and let me know when they were arriving and when they were leaving. I will be delighted to host Lisa and her family any time.😊
Easy check in/check out. Not expected but breakfast items included with the stay with fresh eggs from the chickens just across the backyard. Will definitely be staying again!

Brian and his daughters were outstanding guests. They left the house in immaculate condition. Brian was a good communicator, letting me know when they’d arrived, as well as when they’d departed. I certainly hope they’ll return one day.
Very nice house with every comfort and need provided. We loved the vintage decor that appears to be actual family collections. Enjoyed the fresh farm eggs and other breakfast items. Only thing lacking is an outside seating area. Easy drives to forest hikes and wineries in neighboring counties. Great dining experience at nearby Kasper"s.

Phyllis was a wonderful guest and left the house spotless......even took the sheets off the beds. She is welcome to return any time!
Very clean and a great host.. The house reminded me of going to my grandmas house in 1991.. All the decor was older but the place was clean. The best description is it will remind you of Grandmas house.. I slept like a rock..

Beverly is an excellent host. Made us feel truly cared for. I didn't get to meet her in person but I felt like we knew each other. Loved our short chats on VRBO. The home is very well cared for and clean. If you are in the area I recommend staying here. Its 100 times better than any hotel and you get farm fresh eggs ❤
We all so much enjoyed staying here. The little house was so comfortable. I literally felt like I was at home. The fresh eggs in the refrigerator were so good. We also enjoyed meeting Beverly and her chickens. Beverly is a great host. I want to recommend Beverly's little house to anyone needing a place to stay in the area. If I am ever in that area again, I will check out Beverly's place first. Thank you Beverly for making us feel at home.

I was very pleased to host Bobbie and her sons. They took such good care of my house and also showed an interest in my chickens, which delighted me. We had a good time holding some banties and feeding them dried mealworms. Bobbie and her sons were all easy to talk to, and I would love for them to visit again some day.
The house itself is absolutely charming and has clearly been well maintained. To my delight, it had more supplies than I've ever encountered at a VRBO before, which made the stay incredibly convenient and comfortable. Although the house is older, it has a unique charm with memorable decor from the owner's parents, creating a warm and nostalgic atmosphere. Despite its age, the house has been tastefully updated, offering a perfect blend of old-world charm and modern comfort. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean and nice. A special touch was the breakfast that was waiting for us in the refrigerator – such a thoughtful and delightful surprise! One of the highlights was the chicken coop, which added to the unique experience, and the owner kindly allowed us to pick fresh vegetables from her garden. The location of the house was great, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. Communication with the owner was excellent, and her flexibility with our stay was greatly appreciated. Overall, I had a fantastic experience and would definitely stay here again. Highly recommend!

Heather and her husband were ideal guests. They followed all the house rules and left the house in perfect order. Although I didn’t meet them, because we communicated often, I felt like we knew one another. I certainly hope they’ll return one day.😊
This was my second time staying at the Comfort and Chickens Virbo. Beverly the owner is a fantastic host. I still have yet to meet her but i feel like i know her. We both love our chickens. House is well kept and she leaves you snacks, candy, and all the fixens for breakfast. Beds were also comfortable and the fireplace is a great touch. I will forever choose Beverly's home on my visits to see my family.

We were a longer term rental as we in Arkansas for work for three weeks. Beverly was very responsive when we had questions or needed anything. I would stay here again if the house is available at a future date

Cheryl and her work colleague stayed for three weeks and were very good guests. They were quite self-sufficient. I was hardly needed at all! Cheryl got the laundry started for me at the end of their stay, and that was a big help. I hope they will come again.
This property and the owner, Beverly, were top-notch. She was very responsive from the initial booking up until we finally left (which we wanted to stay more because of Beverly). The house is immaculate and was centrally located to the places we had planned to visit. We had all the amenities one could want and Beverly went way above and beyond to provide more and make sure we were happy (which we have never been more so). I highly recommend that for anyone staying in this area, to see if are lucky enough to be able to book this gem.
We are already making return plans, and hope we are able to book this property again during those dates.

Bobby and his family were the perfect guests. They put up with my personality and didn't complain about the roosters crowing! Bobby even told me how to repair a shower head. The house was spotless when they left, and I'm ready for them to come back!
I am a retired music teacher, having spent most of my career in Oklahoma City. I have degrees from Harding University, the University of Arkansas, and the University of Oklahoma. I am a soprano with "operatic tendencies" but specialized in teaching music to children, which was a great joy to me. Somewhere along the way, I developed a love for flowers, and that has become one of my passions. Another one of my delights is cats. Many years ago, a dying cat wandered up to my house in OKC, and that was the beginning of the special love I have for felines. Jasper was my first beloved cat, and since he graced my life, I have found room in my heart for many more, including five just now. Recently, I have developed an attachment for chickens. Just after my mother passed four years ago, my painter gifted me with three bantams. Since that time, the chickens have added quite a wrinkle to my life, but many nice eggs, too! I'm anxious for you to meet them.
I am diminutive in size, five feet. I talk too much, but occasionally I'm entertaining! I have a very hard time parting with things and am still sorting my parents' belongings, as well as some of my brother's. I have my grandfather's 1940 tractor and the generator he purchased so that the family could have electricity many, many years ago. Maybe you'll want to buy a few of my brother's magazines, and that will help me pare down my "stuff"!
Why they chose this property
My parents purchased this ten-acre property when I was just a little girl. The original house I was raised in burned down, but my parents had already built the brick house you will be staying in. I inherited the house and have spent the better part of three years renovating it and decorating it with mementos from our lives. My mother always wanted hardwood floors, but my father preferred carpet. Eventually, he wanted hardwood, too, but their declining health made that change impossible. In their honor, now there is real hardwood flooring in the house. Paneling was a popular choice for walls in the 1970s, but it created subdued lighting that my parents weren't pleased with. So, my carpenter and I gutted the house, took out a wall, changed all the floors, doors, and woodwork, put up sheetrock, and did our best to replace shadows with light. Now, there is a cottage-like quality with many touches of whimsy.
What makes this property unique
I have worked so hard on this house that I am no longer objective as to its uniqueness. However, I think you will enjoy seeing all the vintage magazines--my mother's large-format Ladies Home Journal magazines; my brother's Sports Illustrated magazines, his model airplanes, and his 45 rpm records from the 1960s; my grandparents' Saturday Evening Post magazines; our comic books; and my Jack and Jill magazines. One bed even has the original springs----and they are springy! If none of this appeals to you, there's always the pig extractor!
