Unit 28 Lot 27. Spectacular white-water views can be enjoyed from this beautiful meadow home with large wrap-around deck. Just a 2-minute walk to the bluff trails and a few steps more to Walk-On beach. The sand and surf are never far from this comfy little beach house we call “Sandbox 3”.

The kitchen, dining room, living room and breakfast nook of Sandbox 3 are all open to each other to create one large living space. After sunset, relax on the sofa in the living room and watch the stars through the skylight or watch your favorite shows on the 55” TV.

Amazing white-water views accompany you while you cook in the kitchen or dining room. Take advantage of the BBQ and enjoy sitting at outdoor table for 6 on the deck. After star gazing from the hot tub and it's time to head indoors you can find tranquility in front of the living room fireplace with a book or re-energize with family game time.

This 2-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom home sleeps 6. The Queen primary bedroom has a fireplace and stunning white-water surf that can be seen while relaxing in bed or from the master bath. The second bedroom is a Queen suite with an added futon that has its own full bathroom with tub and shower. If sharing rooms isn’t to your liking, then guests (especially teenagers) will love the loft where there is a full-size pull-out sofa bed and 1 single bed disguised as an easy folding sofa.

After a long day at the beach, entertaining or simply relaxing on the sprawling deck is your dream. Pour yourself a glass of wine and settle into the comfortable deck chairs and enjoy beautiful white-water views and views of the adjacent meadow teaming with wildlife. If you’re quiet, you may be lucky enough to spot deer grazing very close by from the Adirondack chairs and large outdoor sofa.

Electrical outlets are accessible in the car port, so bring your portable electric car charger if you own an EV to top off the battery for your drive home. We also have a Tesla charger for guests who own a Tesla.

Bed linens and towels are included in this beach house rental.

Beautiful house in a beautiful location the loft was perfect for the teenager and he spent 24 hours a day up there. I would like to see some kind of drapes or blinds for the living room. It gets so bright it's hard to stay in there.

Beautiful house with gorgeous view

We loved our stay at the Sand box. The house is dog friendly, not super large but beautifully designed so that all the spaces are very enjoyable. This house has has a great “vibe” with beautiful view and is close to the coastal trails and beaches. we highly recommend it!

Hot Hot Hot!

The house was lovely to look at and in a great location but it was all spoiled by the extreme heat coming thru the living room windows. No blinds were available there and although the dining room had blinds the heat was so extreme coming into the living room that that room also remained hot and inhabitable from noon till 5 PM or so. It was a very nice and well decorated house otherwise but I would not recommend it unless maybe in the winter months.

Cozy, classy get away

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We've been renting for over 30 years for a family reunion and this was our first time at Sandbox 3. This place is a winner! We just loved the location and design of the home. Fabulous views of the ocean from the living room, master bedroom and kitchen. The kitchen was really well stocked and the layout of the house was great for everyday use and a family Bunco night! The decor, architecture and touches throughout the house were so welcoming and made us feel comfortable and joyful. As people noted, it did get warm and sunny inside from the large windows in the living room, however there is a window and sliding glass door to open to bring in cool air and we just moved out of the sun shine if we got too hot. I did wear sunglasses inside to work on a puzzle, but looking up at the stars at night from inside was wonderful! We're grateful the home is so welcoming to dogs and they loved sunbathing in the house! Really the only quirk was the sink. It is divided by the wood countertop and it's impossible to keep dry, which adds to the staining of it which we felt badly about. We sure tried! But that is so minor for all the great things going on in this home. It's evident the owners care about their home and assuring renters a nice visit. It feels modern and updated and clean. Fyi about the loft, it's so roomy up there, several places to sleep and lots of fun for the youngsters with how the owners decorated and what they provide up there, just note the stairs going up are straight up and high and the half bath is downstairs.

Love Sandbox 3

This was our second stay at Sandbox 3. This time for an extended two weeks. The property was clean, comfortable and very well appointed. We felt very much at home. Besides our daily 7-8 mile hikes on the costal trails outside the door, we pretty much stayed in to enjoy the ocean view, wildlife passers-by and cozy evenings by the fire place. The kitchen had everything making meal prep easy. The areas for improvement are: provide a chest of drawers in the bedrooms so guests can unpack suitcases. We had to clear shelves in the laundry room and drawers in the bathrooms to store our clothes. The only place to hang clothes is in the guest bedroom which doesn’t work for the master. We did enjoy our stay and will rent again.

Gorgeous house

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is beautiful and comfortable. It’s completely renovated except for the second bathroom. It has a nice big kitchen. It could use a real dish rack/drainer. The deck is epic, lots of seating,a large gas grill, hot tub, and dining table all with an incredible ocean and meadow view. An important note is that there is no dresser or closet available in the primary bedroom. There are large drawers in the bathroom vanity but the clothes got damp. We used the closet and teeny tiny dresser in the 2nd bedroom since it was just the two of us, but if you had more than two people in the house unpacking would be an issue . The primary bedroom does have an awe inspiring view and a wood burning fireplace. It’s incredible. Please add a dresser and give some closet access. The house would be perfect with those additions. We hope that one day the rental company will use lock boxes so that trips to Gualala for key pick up and drop off are unnecessary. Sandbox 3 is special, it’s renovated in a modern style , has nice furniture, and it was perfectly clean and extremely comfortable. It’s large and open. The views are amazing and it is not next to a trail, so very private. You don’t even notice the house next door. We had a great stay.

A very nice house

Reviewer Comments: We (3 adults and 2 dogs) were here for a week over Christmas. This is a great location, close to the bluff trail with white water views and surf sounds. The rental people were very helpful and responsive to a maintenance request. There are a few issues with the house that prospective renters should be aware of, but they did not dampen the overall enjoyment of our stay. The water/ice dispenser in tghe refrigerator does did not work so we had to get ice. There is a lot of glass and no shades in the living room so if the sun is out it is almost impossible to stay in the room. Also, the seating arrangements in the room are not optimal, 2 couches but no easy chair for reading. Also, the light is not great for reading at night. There is a large TV in the loft, which is practically inaccessible, but the living room TV is rather small. Finally, there is no closet or drawer space in the Master Bedroom. But it is still a very nice house and we really enjoyed our stay.

Relaxing, Enjoyable Stay by the Sea.

Reviewer Comments: A delightful week of chilling out, swimming at the pool nearby, and enjoying the surroundings, especially the atmosphere the Sandbox 3 rental offers with their well appointed articles within the attractive home.The living room fireplace was well used, serving as a finishing touch to the days end. Good rental choice for 2 couple. If you have children make sure they can handle stepladder stairs accenting to their sleeping/playroom quarters in the loft. That was not an issue for us. Only two issues: Make sure to get the password location for the WiFi within the home from the rental agency when checking in (if possible), or ask by phone beforehand. It was NOT located in the information book at the home. Secondly, if you decide to launder clothes, bring your own detergent. Other than that, recommend the home/the location (nearby the grocery stores/restaurants in Gualala about 2 miles away), and the proximity to the Ocean edge.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It’s a lovely home in a great location. The kitchen is well equipped for making meals, the rest of the house is tastefully furnished, and the views are great (while the bluff trail is just far enough away that people aren’t walking directly in front of your window). The only slightly odd things were no closet or dresser in the main bedroom and it can get warm in the living room on a sunny day. I would overlook both of those things though and would be happy to stay here again.

Better than the pictures

Our family of four went up for a week, and I cannot say enough about the house. The house is better than the (already great) pictures. The kitchen is well appointed, the beds were comfortable, the view is superb, and the location is ideal. Will definitely return to exactly this house when we return to sea ranch.
