About this property

Lovely view of the Maiella from home in the heart of Bomba

Our bright and overlooking the valley of the River Sangro from the balcony offers a breathtaking view of the massif of the Maiella.
The view is really unique because it stretches of rock are nestled in the hills and there are hidden villages like Pietraferrazzana, Montenero, Torricella, Gessopalena and many others. Then further on, at the top it develops the Maiella mountain!
Bomb, village of 900 inhabitants, has a large communal swimming pool for those who want to bathe or swim, (open from July to August only), near the shrine of St. Mauro, while for those who enjoy nature walks or practices running or cycling canoeing or fishing is ideal. It 'a favorite with cyclists.
In August, a bomb are organized festivals, music performances in the central square! Return the Bombesi also from distant countries!
Nearby is the lake of Bomba in a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere, surrounded by tall trees, olive groves and meadows and you can 'go canoeing.
A 20-minute drive takes you to the sea and to the beaches of TRABOCCHI (ancient buildings of fishermen stretching out on the sea) like Fossacesia, which has the 2016 blue flag for clean sea, and in the evening you return to enjoy the cool of Bomba.
The first floor apartment has an entrance hall, living room, a large kitchen, 2 large double bedrooms and a single bedroom, a bathroom. Private parking under the house.
Linen: Bed linen and towels can be rented at a cost of € 10 per person
We have WiFi, we have no air conditioning.
We do not have a washing machine, but underneath the house there is a fee for Maria's laundry, which is also available only for washing.
The temperature in Bomba (450 m) in July-August can reach more than 31 degrees during the hottest hours, early in the morning and in the evening you are fine al fresco!
The consumption of light, water, trash etc are the responsibility of the owner. There is an obligation to separate garbage in paper, plastic, glass, wet bins etc and door to door collection.
All rooms are bright and panoramic either on the valley or towards the village course and the 1100 tower floor
The house located right in the center, with a long balcony and a view of the beautiful church of 1600 with bell tower, has all the shops below, including the central bar in Piazza di Lilia and an excellent bakery in the square that makes sweets and typical great pizzas.!

Lanciano, about half an hour, is a town with a beautiful historical course full of shops and is famous for the Eucharistic Miracle, (first half of the seventh century D C) preserved in the church of San Francesco. Worth a visit to the Roman vestiges and to the beautiful ancient churches: the Basilica of the Madonna del Ponte, built on the three-arch bridge of Diocletian and the church of Santa Maria Maggiore, one of the most important monuments of Abruzzo.

I advise you not to miss the trip to the beautiful Abbey of San Giovanni in Venere which rises on a Roman temple of Venus and has a fabulous view of the sea. It is located above the village Rocca SAN GIOVANNI.

I recommend visiting Ortona on the sea, a cheerful town full of shops and a good panoramic restaurant

A trip to Gamberale 1000 m high deserves to see the deer kept in the park (it can be reached in about half an hour by car). Also passing through Quadri you can buy truffles!

Go on Mount Pallano to see the Paleolithic Mura and in Roccascalegna for the castle. Close to farms.

A 30 min drive (17 km of curves) Torricella.
Further away, 1 hour away, there are near Fara San Martino famous for the pasta, Gorges in the rock and the church of San Remigio, near the blade of the Peligni and Taranta: the Caves of the Breaker with stalactites and stalagmites more than 1 hour , road with curves.
Caramanico terme. (1 hour and 36 minutes)

A rainy day? Go to CHIETI to visit the MUSEUM and the cathedral

Bello Castello di Atessa and I recommend the refined La Castellana restaurant in the rooms of the castle. I also recommend La Quercia and the Farmer, near Bomba, the Diavoletto in Selva di Altino and the Old Hill near Sant'Eusanio (book first). In Santa Maria I recommend the Le Ginestre restaurant.
The typical dishes are the cacio and ova eggs and the homemade recipe with the ragù, mixed grilled meats with lamb etc
To buy: the salami in Tornareccio, the desserts in Santa Maria. A Bomba: the Oil of the Cellar, small wooden objects from the restorer Pagliarone, salumerie: the beautiful Gessica the ballerina and Rosanna ..
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.
