that are looking for a unique experience that combines the rustic charm of a classic train coach with the added touch of a highly creative surrounding atmosphere. All of the ingredients are here to discover, stimulate and inspire the creative spirit that resides in all of us. We have been told by friends, visiting artists and other creatively minded people that spending time on our property seems to open a space in their personal life that invites inspiration.

We have been told that there is a romantic quality to spending the night in our luxury caboose, it is perfect for a couple to share an intimate evening together in a peaceful, private place. The setting and surrounding property lends itself to the creation of some unforgettable photography.
There are wild peacocks and a variety of other wild birds that over the years have found that our property is a "safe haven" to the point that one would think that they are almost domesticated pets. Hummingbirds, Parrots, Snowy egrets, Grey Herron's, Woodpeckers, Bluejays, Crows and Ravens, etc. A large variety of hawks and falcons live and hunt in the area and at night, you may hear the sounds of owl's calling to each other from the treetops.

This remote location was easy to find thanks to the hosts clear directions. Even though the photos online were great, it’s difficult to capture the entire beauty of the arrival - it was better than expected. Host was available if required. Everything worked well. Would thoroughly recommend.

Peaceful and pleasant

We were able to check in early, and we enjoyed the fact that we were secluded and didn’t need to interact with anyone to check in. The gate clicker we were given must have needed a new battery, but the code worked. The furniture/furnishings within seemed a bit old and beat up with buttons popped out of the chairs and hanging from strings and parts of the flooring coming up or missing in spots..but it was pretty clean. One of the little towels that was folded decoratively had something yellow on it in big spots but we just tossed it aside. I might be picky, but the set cleaning fee was 95.00. That’s a bit higher than other places I’ve stayed. The property was charming and quiet, you could hear the birds in the morning, the “snacks”mentioned in the listing included one chewy granola bar and a couple packets of oatmeal. There was coffee and tea and creamer and water. The appliances all worked, and weren’t noisy. and the water kind of dribbled in the shower, but temperatures were good. Air and heating were good. If you like Glamping, this might be the place for you.

Solitude and Serenity

The caboose was a lovely spot for a quiet night away. I was notified when the caboose was ready so I could check in early and enjoy a much needed shower after hiking in the morning. Location makes it easy to enjoy great food and drinks at The Old Place and Malibu Cafe. I appreciated having the charming setting to myself to enjoy the view and sounds of birds and nature. Plenty of coffee and water and a great deck outside the caboose for reading and yoga. I’ll be back!

Wonderful unique property, lovely host and a fantastic setting. Don’t miss seeing the lake where many movies where shot. Only issue we had was lack of hot water in shower.

Wow!! What an awesome Caboose!! Absolutely loved our stay! Geraldine is awesome, along with Gabrielle. Thank you so much for the experience!! Will definitely be back to stay again. Anyone who wants an awesome experience in a serene & natural setting should definitely stay here!! Highly recommend! If you stay here definitely go to the "Old Place" restaurant & wine tasting store next door. You definitely won't be dissappointed at this getaway :)
