Villa with private garden and pool,big terrace-solarium,pergola

Beautiful modernist villa built in 1904 and completely refurbished in 2015, respecting its original characteristics (high ceilings, mosaic floors and colored interior glass doors) and updating baths and kitchen with modern equipment, including air conditioning and heating throughout the house.
This year we created new areas, a pergola with an extending table on the terrace to enjoy year-round outdoor activities, an area in the garden for casual meals and a romantic pergola near the pool.
The villa is located at few minutes of Sagrada Familia, modernist Sant Pau Hospital and Parc Güell, world famous monuments, and well communicated by subway (L4 and L5) and buses (lines H6 and H40), a few minutes from the historic centre and the beach, with supermarkets (including Carrefour) restaurants and shops at walking distance.
Entering the hall, it is the living and dinning room, with two confortable sofas, perfect to chat or watch TV and an expandable table for a pleasant dinner.
Passing through a small gallery overlooking the garden, comes out to a big terrace, half covered by cristal to enjoy it the whole year and the other half for sunbathing, with outdoor furniture and going down a staircase you reach the garden, with fruit trees, aromatic plants and private pool, with hammocks and outdoors sofa to enjoy outdoors.
The four rooms are distributed on both sides of the living room, bright and furnished with exquisite style, one with king size bed, two with twin beds that can be joined and the fourth with a single bed and inner connection with another of the rooms.
The kitchen is modern with all the necessary equipment. There are two bathrooms, one with full bath (tube and shower) and another, smaller, with shower and toilet.
It is a very special place for an unforgetable stay.

Our family had a great week at this villa! We enjoyed being able to explore Barcelona and have a great place a short walk from public transportation to relax. The host was very gracious meeting us at the villa and making sure we had what we needed, and knew how to navigate the area.

Girls Trip to Spain

I stayed here with 6 of my girlfriends. This place is very special - better than the pictures can show. Every detail is absolutely gorgeous. All of us plan to come back with our families. The location is perfect. Check in and out a breeze and the owner took care of all our needs. We stayed in several places on this trip and this was our favorite.

Incredible villa with history and charm!

We had the BEST time staying at this property and could not have been more impressed with Sol and the owners in their prompt communication and flexibility. Our group of 7 had a very comfortable stay and would have remained by the pool the entire time if there wasn’t so much to explore nearby. We would absolutely book this property again!

Historic home with lots of Spanish charm and beautiful garden and pool! Just a 25 minute walk to Sagrada Familia and less than a 10 minute walk to the train and then 15-20 minutes to get anywhere in the city. Hosts were responsive and provided great info and resources to enjoy our trip. Loved having a grocery store within walking distance.

We loved our stay!

We loved our stay here at the villa. The place was spacious for a group of 7 - the villa was nicely stocked with kitchen supplies and a great grocery store was just a street down. It was a close walk to the blue and L4 line which is all you need to get around Barcelona. The backyard and upstairs patio was icing on the cake and was great to lounge about. I also accidentally left behind an item when I flew out of Barcelona and Maria and Antonio were so quick and responsive and helpful in shipping it for me - I am forever grateful. I would def recommend staying here and WHEN I come back to barcelona with a group I would not hesitate to stay here. Thank you!!!

Christmas in Barcelona

Overall good. Six family and friends had enough room although the outside spaces and pool were not used due to cold weather. The pictures don't quite match the space with the appearance of two floors and use of one. Not enough dishes and glassware/coffee cups without constant washing between meals/snacks. Placemats were a llittle dirty on arrival. Dull knives. Intermittent street noise. It is close to metro stations and grocery stores and El Guardino Park and Túro hill (sp) are worth a hike. You can view down into Parc Güell from the top. I would go back in the spring or fall when the garden, grill and pool are more useful. Easy access and departure, straightforward and helpful communications regarding events and websites for information about local happenings. (Thanks, Raquel!)

Great city location

An oasis with a pool. This is a city venue, so there is a little bit of traffic and lots of built up areas around. Location is great with the metro a 10 min walk away and a bus stop right nearby. Property is immaculately laid out and has lots of historical charm. It's a luxury to have a pool in what is a city dwelling. The garden outside is beautiful and peaceful. The 4th bedroom is a single bed and quite small, so bear that in mind. WiFi doesn't reach some of the bedrooms, which caused a few problems with the teenagers, although the speed, when it connects, is very good. The owners should invest in some power line networking, or a wifi extender. We could contact the host by WhatsApp and they were very helpful

Historical house in a great neighborhood

If you are looking for a house with true Spanish charm and an amazing outdoor space just outside the craziness of the center of Barcelona, you’ll love this house…. We did! Our check in process was great, air conditioning worked well and the metro was a short 7 min walk. I loved the tile details of the house…. I knew I was in Spain. The only thing to know is that the second bathroom is very, very small with a little historic sink outside. So no room for getting ready. So just know that. Other reviewers have shared that this doesn’t feel like a “ villa”. It is a house, this is true, but the garden makes you feel like there is nothing else around. Others have commented that it is noisy… we didn’t find that to bother us at all. It is, after all, Barcelona! I’d absolutely stay here again. Thanks to our hosts!

Great base for enjoying Barcelona

We were 6 people - 2 grand parents, 2 siblings + 1 spouse, 1 grand child who stayed for a week at this villa. It was perfect with 4 bedrooms, a nice living room and kitchen and 2 bathrooms. The terrace attached to the main living floor is an excellent place to hang out in the evening and night, we spent many hours there drinking rose and eating iberico and cheese! Maria and Antonio, the hosts were a perfect! They proactively reached out to us, providing us taxi directions in Spanish, aligning our (early) arrival time and departing time for the previous guests. During our stay, they were super available and helped with making taxi reservations, etc. Of note, when our taxi was delayed, Antonio not only got us a new taxi, but also called the restaurant and informed them we will be a little late due to no fault of ours - I really appreciated the extra attention to detail. There is one "American size" bathroom and one "European size" bathroom with shower. only the big one has sinks (2 of them), so we needed to schedule ourselves during morning "rush" hour. No big deal, but worth noting with a larger group of adults. The pool is small, but very effective in cooling you off on a warm Barcelona summer day! The location is in residential part of town, which is super quiet and blissfully non-touristic. However, there is some commuting involved to see the sites. The Metro station that we used all the time (Guinardo) is about 6-8 min walk and then 7 stops to center of town. We loved walking up the hill to visit the Parc Guinardo, which is a local park which eventually gives a nice view of the city and the Med beyond. Overall, cannot recommend this place enough. The villa, the location and most importantly the hosts made our trip a true pleasure and one to remember.

Think carefully before booking this "villa"

We had been expecting a "villa" given the description of the property on the website. In reality, it is a relatively small apartment with extremely flimsy walls between all rooms. You can be speaking quietly in a bedroom and it can be heard in the adjacent room. The property does have a really beautiful garden and lovely terrace outside. However, both in the house and outside, it feels (at least currently) like living on a building site given the noise from a nearby construction site. I cannot emphasise enough how noisy it is and the owners sadly did not warn us in advance about the noise. If we had been warned, we would not have booked it. So, I would certainly recommend future visitors asking whether the building works nearby have been completed and asking for assurances that there are no other building works going on in the vicinity. We also had continual problems with the internet throughout our stay. It was not working at all when we arrived and then worked intermittently throughout the remainder of our holiday. The owners did try to resolve the issue but it was not unfortunately resolved while there. So, again, I would recommend any future visitors asking for reassurances that the internet is working properly. There was no offer of any money back through not having this important amenity working properly. The owners were always responsive and the check-in and check-out process were very smooth. The apartment is also in a decent location - a 15 minute metro ride to most central locations. While the apartment is a lovely old home with beautiful garden and terrace, it is difficult to rate the property more than one star given the somewhat misleading "villa" description (I know that the property is named "Villa" but it does not match the dictionary definition of "villa" or what people would normally expect of a villa), the excessive noise from the nearby building site, and the extent to which noise carries within the apartment. Even without the building site, I suspect that the noise of the road (which I know previous visitors have commented on) would be too much for many holiday-makers. I raised the construction site noise on check-out and the lady said she would tell the owners but we have not heard from the owners since.

Overpriced old fashioned full of tatty furniture

I was shocked when I arrived. It might have been renovated in 2015 but it was more like a second hand furniture store. No luxury. Tiny bathrooms. Small living space. The functional side of the flat was ok but it was a depressing place to stay in and in a poor part of town. the street was derelict. I’m sorry but it was totally overpriced. In fact it has put me off VRBO as the places never live up to the description and photos.

Fabulous villa!

We were a group of 3 couples. Villa is beautifully renovated and decorated. An oasis in the middle of Barcelona close to everything. Owners Maria and Antonio greeted us there and helped us with all requests through the week. The back yard is stunning and a fun place to relax. Must also comment on how clean the villa is with the crisp white bedding, plentiful towels and a well stocked kitchen. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank-you!

Wonderful visit

My family and I very much enjoyed staying at the villa. Maria and Antonio were very gracious and helpful hosts and their property is beautiful. We were easily able to get around Barcelona from the house. Our kids very much enjoyed the garden and the pool and we also used the patio frequently. We would definitely stay here again!

Ladies getaway to Barcelona

We had a wonderful four night stay here. Well appointed villa with everything we needed. The hosts were extremely helpful answering our questions and arranging taxis for us. We walked to many sights in the city from here. The nearby market was great to get all our supplies. The only drawback to the property is the street noise that you can hear from the bedrooms. Earplugs helped!

Wir haben einen super schoenen Urlaub in der Villa verbracht. Die Villa ist so schoen, wie es die Bilder zeigen.,Ein traumhafter Garten.steht zur Nutzung bereit. Leider ist Barcelona eine sehr laute Stadt,was ma im Gartennutzung e Leider auch horrende kann. Bei Problemen stehen die Vermieter einem mit Rat und Tat zur Seite. Séjour très AGREABLE!

Nous avons été très bien accueillis par Maria et Antonio. La maison est conforme au descriptif. Elle est très fonctionnelle, la décoration est jolie. A bit of paradise in the city!

Our family spent a wonderful week at Villa Rosario. Maria and Antonio are very professional; emails were always answered quickly, and the flat was comfortable and well appointed. The garden and pool, with its surrounding fruit trees (peach, plum, fig, lemon, and orange) was such a welcome retreat after a day exploring the city. There is a small convenience store on the same block, a pharmacy a block away, and the flat is two blocks to the metro which takes you to the center of town in 10 minutes. Highly recommend your family considering this place for future stays in Barcelona. Thank you Maria and Antonio!

FABULOUS!

This place is flat out amazing. Pictures just do not do it justice. It's spacious and comfortable. Located in an great area we had no problems using public transportation to get just about anywhere we wanted to go and there was a huge market within walking distance. Maria and Antonio are also great people which made the experience all the better.

Our stay in Barcelona

We could not have asked for a better accommodation for our stay in Barcelona! Upon our arrival we were greeted by Antonio & Maria and shown the entire property. They made themselves available during our stay for anything we needed which was very helpful in getting our bearings. The Villa is very clean and well appointed - we had everything we needed. The website description and pictures are 100% accurate. Metro access within two blocks was very easy to use and gave us convenient access to all the sites. We found the pool a very welcome and refreshing feature to offset the Barcelona heat! We highly recommend this Villa whether you are a family or a group of adult friends getting together to share an experience in Barcelona. Book this Villa now, you will not be disappointed!
