Beautiful views from this amazing property. Owners were great and easy to communicate with. Our family had a wonderful stay. We all loved the woodwork!
We have stayed here many times and will continue to return. Pam and Dave are wonderful people and amazing hosts. The property is absolutely beautiful. From the wildflowers, apple and pear trees, and the view of the valley and mountains, this place captures the essence of every season.
If it’s serenity and beauty you’re looking for, this property will satisfy. There is a layed back atmosphere in the nearby communities, with a few great dining choices. It’s also a perfect location to launch day trips from. Our hosts were friendly and very accommodating. I plan to return!
This place was perfect for my daughter and me. There is AC, a lovely outdoor seating area with fabulous views, well stocked kitchen, and it’s very clean. Note that all 3 beds are in the same large room, the kitchen has a small refrigerator, the living room has 2 chairs, there is no washing machine, and the owners live upstairs.
Untouched natural beauty surrounds this awesome retreat, perched on the hillside.
A state of the art kitchen and dining area looks out across picturesque Scott valley, with a 180° view east to west. Unbelievable sunrises start your day, including the tip of Mt Shasta in the distance. Hypnotizing stars are out at night, closing a full schedule exploring mountain lakes, and small towns from generations past.

Your description of the "crack of dawn" is just the way we hoped our guests would see it. Your review truly touched us and we thank you. Please come back and stay any time.
Pam was so kind. She waited for us to get there. She had anything you could need and more at the property. What a wonderful place. There was red tailed hawks screaching, double rainbows, wood fire place and stunning views of the valley. We found ourselves being repeat customers at denny bar co in etna. The staff was so kind and food was awesome! Scotts valley is a magical place. Go now!
Even after 6 days, we never tired of the incredible views of Scott Valley and the snow-covered Marble Mountains from this house. Although this is the bottom level of the owners' home, it is very private, spacious and comfortable and the modern kitchen and dining area is fantastic with 180 degree views overlooking the valley. We found plenty to do during our 5 night stay including a very scenic drive along the Scott River out to the Klamath River, hiking on trails in the foothills of the Marble Mountains (too much snow this early May for accessing the wilderness), a drive to Etna Pass for amazing high mountain views, and just exploring this peaceful and historic area. We enjoyed dining at Five Marys Burgerhouse in town and at the Etna Brewery in the nearby town of Etna.
Absolutely gorgeous views. Well-stocked kitchen. Very peaceful.
The location is the bottom floor of the owner's house with a separate entrance. The frontside of the house is all glass with beautiful views. The property owner is very kind and made the check-in process very easy. Only two chairs available for TV viewing, but the TV is not the best view anyway.
You do hear footsteps above, but we had read that in a prior post and were not surprised. I would definitely stay there again for the views alone.
The kitchen is well-stocked and enjoyable to cook in due to the views. We sat outside in the morning to drink our coffee and read a book. Very relaxing.
The first thing we noticed was the beautiful view of the small valley below with the ring of mountains surrounding it. There is a gorgeous wood slab bar that looks out over the mountains and valley below. There is a gas stove, which we loved. A large bedroom, with bathroom access from there. The living room has a wood burning stove, leather chairs (so comfortable), and gorgeous wood beams. This beautiful place was quiet and serene. This is the first truly “dog friendly” place that we have stayed at. There is a smaller fence to the back of the yard, but my dogs understand “stay in your yard”, because we live in an area without fences, so this was not a problem for us. The host has a dog, but we really never saw her dog in their yard next door when we were out with our dogs. Her yard is fenced separately. They live in the upper level of the home, but the level below is entirely separate from the level below. We loved our stay, and will definitely stay there again. We actually were looking at houses there, because we loved our stay so much. Our host Pam was so welcoming, she is the best.
This property was awesome. Far enough out of town to feel "away from it all" but close enough to get needed supplies.
The kitchen was the best supplied I have stayed at, and I travel a lot. They had a variety of spices and even had a frothier.
The yard was awesome, my dog loved it and lots of places to sit outside and eat or watch the stars. Communication with host was great. I would agree with the reviewer who said you could hear the hosts upstairs, but it did not detract from our stay.
With such lovely views a couch or some other additional seating at the windows would be nice. If the upstairs had some thicker carpet the noise from the upstairs might be diminished, very noisy at night. We would hear every time someone upstairs moved. Must be why earplugs are provided.
Very well equipped kitchen, shower is small and dark.
Overall a good place to stay.
Pam, the owner, is very friendly and accommodating making us feel right at home. This was our second time staying here and we absolutely love it. Already planning when we can get away again for another weekend here.

We both moved to Scott Valley in our 20's, then left for work in Santa Cruz, and now we're gratefully back again. We love our lifestyle, our mountains and our friends. Hosting opens up our small world view to include people from all over.
