Our host, Jamie gave us all the information we needed to make our stay a no hassle experience. The property was as advertised, clean, well stocked peaceful and comfortable. Our trout fishing trip to the Blue River was much better this year knowing that we had a hot shower and and all of the comforts of home waiting on us at the cabin when our day of fishing was over. We made great memories here and recommend this property if you want to “rough it” in style.
Everything was nice. There was only one kayak, but they did state that if there’s some missing that they would try to replace them. I feel it was a little pricey, but overall, it was a great place. We loved it. The mascot Brody was a great dog. He was the neighbors.
The cabin is rustic, but comfortable. All bathrooms are on the lower level. All kitchen appliances are small efficiency-apartment style, and were adequate for our needs. We enjoyed the seclusion and riverbank location. Communication with host was easy and responsive.
The Cabin was great, it is the outside area leading down to the river. Pretty steep, with roots sticking up.. not very safe. But all in all these 3 60 yr old brothers had a good reunion..
My husband and I had the very best time. It was everything listed and more. We couldn’t have asked for anything better.

Quiet and serene
Over all a cozy place. Beds were very comfortable. Could use a little updating and more pots and pans that aren’t scorched if you intend to cook your meals there. Very quiet aandserene . Nice!
Beautiful riverfront cabin provided the perfect setting for a soul refreshing weekend. From the pre-dawn cries of a river loon to the mesmerizing camp fire in the evening, this is the place to go off-line and nurture your soul.

Wow, thank you, Michael! I hope to see you again soon!
We absolutely adored staying in the cabin and hope to be back in the summer. You are ON THE RIVER and the view is wonderful. Cabin is comfortable and clean and the outside areas are well maintained and very functional. Very workable kitchen, comfortable bed, clean bathrooms, and a pretty fantastic doggo that came to visit from the neighbor's house.
Lovely time in the cabin. Galley kitchen is small but workable. River was not flowing much due to lack of rain and not tempting to Kayak in but that was Mother Natures fault!
It was great….. we had an emergency and had to leave early. The only improvement we could see is to put in some kind of rails on the front or back porch. Thanks,Kay
We loved this little hideaway. The kids and husband fished. The boys kayaked and built a fire in fire pit. We loved it . The kitchen was small so if we go back I will probably pre -cook some things. Caseroles for breakfast and such.
Beautiful rustic cabin that was exceptionally clean. It was clear the host went above and beyond to make the cabin comfortable and cozy and bug-free (hard to do in the middle of river country - but Jami managed to do it). We fished and caught several bass right from the dock, had coffee on the porch and a glass of wine on the swing overlooking the river. We made friends with the neighbor dog Brodie - who we grew to love before our stay ended. This place was good for our soul, everyone should come visit - it's magical.

Thank you so much for your great review, Kellie! I agree that it's magical there. I'm happy to hear you rested and recharged, and I hope you come back and stay again!
Other than running out of gas and not being able to use stove was great. Could of showed more concern as were in the middle of cooking and was not something you could finish on grill or in microwave as suggested.
We loved the cabin, we just wished it wouldn’t have been so rainy. The driveway was washed out in places so the last night we loaded the vehicles and drove them up by the rode, as we were afraid we might get stuck the next morning. We were glad we did, it rained most of the night. We had to carry the rest of our luggage to our vehicles in the pouring rain about a half mile. It was worth it great place and we loved our stay. We will be back.
I want to go back! The cabin was clean and perfect for an escape from home. If the photos haven't been updated yet, there is now a tire swing and a play fort in the yard which our kids loved (and we did too.) The internet service was surprisingly good if you need that. We happened to be at the cabin during the great ice storm of Feb. 2021. We ended up iced in and stayed an extra day. The host went above and beyond to help us stay comfortable and get us home safely. We watched the river completely ice over, then melt and flow downstream. It was beautiful! I can't wait to go back in warmer weather to enjoy all this home has to offer.

Thank you for such a nice review! It certainly was a crazy week, but pretty cool that you were able to see the cabin covered in snow! I look forward to your family coming back and the weather being nice so that you can get on the river!
First let me say the the location of this home is in a beautiful, quiet, remote location. Jami the owner was responsive to requests.
On the downside:
- The "cabin is fully stocked" does not include soap, shampoo, or laundry supplies.
- The refrigerator in the kitchen is not full sized and is not shown in the pictures so you cannot bring too many cold items.
- The skillets in the kitchen are in very poor condition.
- The kayak launch at the house is a very steep, eroded area with numerous tree roots. It is unsafe.
- This house makes the most noise of any we have ever stayed in. Each step up the stairs and accross upstairs is extremely noisy and will wake others if they are sleeping.
Relaxing Stay on the Blue River, Just What We Needed!
Exactly what we needed, a peaceful escape. The cabin was cozy yet spacious, and it comfortably accommodated our family of six. The large yard provided plenty of room for the kids to run around, and the easy access to the river made for fun-filled days of kayaking and swimming.Although recent rains meant the river wasn’t quite as “blue” as expected, it didn’t take away from our experience. We especially appreciated the use of a couple of extra kayaks provided. The cabin was well-stocked with all the basic necessities, and I was pleasantly surprised by the extra toilet paper supply (always a plus with a big family!). There are plenty of skillets in the kitchen, but it's helpful for future guests to know that there’s only one pot and one 9x13 metal pan. We brought disposable foil pans, which came in handy since we did a lot of grilling and cooked larger meals.A quick note for those driving in: due to recent rain, there were a couple of washout spots in the driveway between the gate and the cabin. It wasn’t an issue for us, but we had our daughter leave her smaller SUV up by the gate just to be safe. A regular-sized SUV or truck should be fine, but lower vehicles might struggle a bit after heavy rain.Jami was a wonderful host, so easy to communicate with, and we truly appreciated her sharing this special home with us. The neighbors were friendly, and their golden retriever, Brody, quickly became a family favorite! It was a wonderful stay and glad we found this gem!
The main roads leading to the cabin are very rough. This is a very quirky cabin. Yes, it is old-you can hear everything inside and see light through the boards. The indoor temperatures are not even-heat rises to the loft making it very hot and the primary bedroom does not have a heating unit-you have to leave the door open; the living area does stay warm.
It is not as secluded as we imagined; you can see cabins on either side. The first night we stayed, the guests in the cabin closer to us were very loud and making some type of explosive sounds-did not sound like a gun-late at night.
The stay was okay-I really was not as impressed as I imagined. I kept comparing to our other stays. This one did not have a well stocked kitchen, most of the pans were very scratched and worn, along with the mugs. There is not charcoal provided like all the other places we have stayed. The tv sound bar has an annoying static sound in the background and on a couple of occasions the tv sound was off (not on mute) and you could only hear the static sound. I had to leave off for a bit and turn back on a few times so that it could go back to normal.
Other than a few cons, we did enjoy our time. The outside was very well laid out and lit-the kids had fun. I was disappointed with this cabin in comparison to others that we have stayed that have been very well stocked and maintained.

Karina,
Thank you so much for staying at the cabin. I'm very sorry for the items that you mentioned not being as you had hoped for. We work very hard to make to make sure the cabin is spotless, well equipped, and cozy/comfortable. We have never had anyone complain concerning the heat in the cabin because there are two large wall heaters, a fireplace, and a very large wall gas unit that up until now, have always enabled the cabin to stay toasty even during freezes. But, I will personally look into this and see if we can improve it in any way. The cabins that you mentioned have thick pines in between and are almost never occupied because they are not rented out, however, it sounds like someone may have had an event during the weekend you were there. I apologize if there was noise. That is not usually the case. Despite these issues, I'm glad that your family had a good stay overall and that your kids had a great time!
