Thank you for your kind review! We're so happy to hear that you had a great experience during your stay. It was a pleasure hosting you, and we’d love to welcome you back anytime!
We had a great stay at this house in Juneau. We had 7 people and we were all comfortable. We loved the great big windows looking out into the trees. The house is at the end of a road surrounded by woods, and there are a couple trails you can walk to right from the house. We had a great time visiting our family in Juneau!

Thank you for your wonderful feedback. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay with us. Be sure to come back soon.
Nice property. However, for a place that advertises itself as “sanitary cleaning” and charges extra for it, it wasn’t that. The rooms were dusty and the dishwasher filled with dirty dishes.

Thanks for staying with us. I will forward your concerns. We truly appreciate your feedback. Hope you stay with us again!
The home was absolutely adorable and was clean upon arrival. My only complaints would be no ice in the ice maker, the jacuzzi did not look usable, and there were no fans in any of the rooms. It was quite hot during our stay and there was no way to cool the rooms down besides opening up the windows, which then let bugs in 😬

Thank you for your feedback! We’re delighted to hear that you found the home adorable and clean. We appreciate your comments about the ice maker, jacuzzi, and fans, and will review these issues to enhance comfort for future guests. We look forward to the opportunity to host you again under better conditions!
The house overall was really nice - it is a beautiful setting. We enjoyed the hot tub and it has a nice deck with trees all around you.
We did have a couple of conversations with the rental person - one involving another tenant who thought we had removed some of her clothes from the laundry. The other time when the rental person arrived at the house thinking we were supposed to leave that day (we weren't).
There are a couple of things that I would like to mention to the owner privately if I have the opportunity.

Good beds and Location
The beds are very comfortable and the location to town is great. I was disappointed in the level of noise we could hear from the downstairs apartment and that the tenant had access to our space if we didn't lock the door. The door was unlocked and open upon arrival. The decor and appointments are shabbier than the pictures. (the porch awning is actually wrapped in duct tape. No screens on most windows so difficult to get a breeze without bugs. Light switches aren't labeled so we never could figure how to turn on the LR ceiling fan.

Thanks for your feedback. We don't usually have complaints on our downstairs tenant. Thanks for sharing, I will forward them on to the homeowner.
Thanks for hosting us. It was a great home base to work from. It was a clean and lovely space.
There were some weird quicks about it:
The light in the living room kept switching colors, which was annoying.
The awning on the deck outside is broken and takes up a lot of space.
Some of the screen doors didn't slide properly.
The salt lamps in the kitchen didn't work.
The master bedroom deck/railing seemed to be falling apart.
There was a lot of trash strewn about on the ground around the property.
Thanks again!

Thanks for your review. I will notify the caretaker and make sure it's ready for future guests. We hope you will give us another try.
The rental was very nice. It had everything there we needed and more. Close to downtown was perfect. The only negative we found was the temp fluctuation from the water heater ..I emailed a request to get it checked and we think they came in to do that but there was no note saying so.....we found a lamp on and a fan moved, both in places where a plumber should not be. We had a laundry and upon discovering it gives access to our unit from the one downstairs, kept the stairwell door locked. The property could use a couple of tables in the living room. Overall this is a really nice rental and we would definitely rent here again! Nice quiet neighborhood, room for everyone and everything any visitor could need. Thank you!

Beautiful home inside some outside issues...
The home itself was beautiful. It had amazing high ceilings and big windows and enough space for 8 adults to spend some relaxing time. Close to town but also easy access to the main road to get out to the valley.
Down side...the decks were very weather warn and we definitely didn’t feel comfortable going out on the master bedroom deck (boards with rot). To get to the hot tub you had to go out the main door, down some stairs (in the rain (as it was raining the whole time we were there)), onto a fairly slick wooden deck. The hot tub was NOT clean when we got there. It smelled and was fairly cloudy. We had a person who knew about hot tub cleaning so he was able to get it fairly clean (we used it many times and always ran the self clean after using it - per the directions provided). The kitchen was stocked with lots of spices and items for cooking which was nice but no napkins or paper towels. Also due to the location there was not a lot of parking. Luckily we only had 2 vehicles between the 8 of us, but if you have any more than that or have visitors it gets a little crowded. There is street parking on one side of the road so we did manage to have a few friends over.
Overall this was a nice place. We are VERY glad we used a VRBO rather than hotel as it allowed for our family time (we were there for a memorial/celebration of life).

The property had some nice features except for cleanliness of laundry room, lack of enough towels
NOT CLEAN! NOT MAINTAINED! Unsafe decking with holes rotted through, leaning rails, old tattered tangled banner left tied to the railing, dishwasher full of dirty dishes with dried on noodles, refrigerator with previous guest's food in it, and half empty boxed foods left on top of refrigerator, previous guest's personal water bottle left on counter, unclean floors and rugs. Very disappointed in this property!

I specified we had 10 people staying here, but there was not enough room for everyone to sleep. One person was on a couch, not a pull out, and another person on the floor. I requested extra blankets, but was told there aren’t any. We booked a hotel room since there wasn’t enough space and requested a discount, but none was given. Would not stay here again.

Great location. Very pleasantly surprised to find really nice memory foam mattresses and a well-stocked kitchen of spices and cookware - things that are super important to a stay but hard to tell from listings. We really enjoyed our time in this VRBO.

Hi Steve! Thank you for staying with us. We're glad you enjoyed your stay! We look forward to your next visit! Best regards!
Other than the couple in the unit below fighting at 3am it was wonderful! To be fair, it was a weekend. The house was super clean. High quality cookware. Comfortable beds and plenty of space for our group of 7 to spread out. It was a wonderful experience for my relatives from Boston. Highly recommend this rental for your next Alaskan adventure.

Why they chose this property
Places to Eat!!! Juneau isn’t known for its fine dining. Having said that, when graded on a curve, the following are all excellent. Within walking distance (and in ascending order of formality/fanciness):
Tracy’s Crab Shack Seong’s Sushi The Rookery Twisted Fish Salt In Bocca Al Lupo, a new-ish Italian place with wood-fired pizza. The Sandpiper is a breakfast favorite of ours. Coppa is a coffee shop, with homemade ice cream and weekly flavor specials, pretty close to the house. Farther afield: The Island Pub on Douglas serves beer on tap and pizza. Zereldo’s, a 15-minute drive away in the Mendenhall Valley, is as good as Juneau gets.
What makes this property unique
Things to Do: You couldn't ask for a better location in Juneau than this lovely home. Lace-up those hiking boots and hit Flume Trail or Mt. Robert's Trailhead that starts just 1 mile away from this property. Continue outdoor exploration when you book a fishing tour or cruise through Tracy Arm to gaze upon the mesmerizing blue hues of calving glaciers. This home sits within a 2-mile drive of a variety of tourist offices, so everyone is sure to find something alluring! Get up close to these living glaciers with a guided hike in Mendenhall Valley. Located 15 minutes north of this home, the Mendenhall Glacier, waterfalls, and diverse wildlife are waiting to impress travelers of all ages. If you're a museum-goer, you won't want to miss tours of the Juneau-Douglas City museum or the Alaska State Museum. Feed your appetite in the heart of town at the Red Dog Saloon, Rendezvous, or Hangar on the Wharf. Hike! Go to the top of Evergreen Ave for a beautiful walk along the Flume Trail. The Flume leads to Mt. Roberts, Mt Juneau, and Perseverance trailheads. There is also great hiking at our local ski hill on Douglas Island, across the bridge. Go whale watching or take a boat tour up the Taku Inlet. Visit one of the beaches on Douglas Island. Rent SUP boards at Blue Nose Surf or sea kayaks at Alaska Boat and Kayak Shop. Rent a motorboat/skiff at Panhandle Power Boats. Organize an adventure from the cruise ship docks downtown(e.g., ziplining, dogsledding, fishing, and helicopter glacier tours). The tram for Mt. Roberts also boards here. See a movie. We have a tiny, family-owned repertory theatre downtown called the Gold Town Nickelodeon. There are also two other theaters playing new releases. Go for a Tasting at the Alaskan Brewery in the Lemon Ck. Neighborhood.
