Prazeres is about an hour away from the airport and closer to a lot of the great hikes and levadas in the area. We cooked all meals at home but one and ate at Resturante Chico which is close by and wonderful. The house has wonderful outdoor seating on two levels with a fabulous vista. As many have mentioned the roads take some getting use to but everyone goes slowly! The house is great for a group!

A Wonderful vacation

What a beautiful home and location on the island . We thoroughly enjoyed the property with the views and the pool . The area was beautiful . It took us a few days to get used to driving the steep roads however the beauty was well worth it ! We loved Madeira and hope to back soon ❤️

Fabulous view and location, perfect retreat for relaxing

I have no words to describe the view from this location, the house is very comfortable, a little attention to details after people visiting as we found shower heads broken and bathroom tub collecting too much water, I know people do not take care and it should stay pristine as it is, a great location close to the best beach on the island too Calheta beach. Beautiful landscape, beautiful sunrise, perfect retreat for those who like peaceful and nature.

Overall a good property, breath taking views from the pool and the kitchen area. It's in a very remote part of the island which means: you'll find it very quiet, it's near the remote hikes, and you'll have some of the best sleep of your life. But with that it also means the wifi isn't the best and sometimes nature comes inside of the home. Some things I'll note: you must rent a car and the property is down a very steep hill so for anyone not very familiar with manual driving, option for the automatic. Also, the property photos are a little dated and some things have changed with time, but overall still representative of the property. The host Joana was extremely communicative and accommodating and allowed us to check-in early on the day of arrival. Although it's remote, nearby there's many food, grocery, and gas options and I especially recommend the XSCafe we went nearly everyday they were open.

Cliffside home in Prazeres

Fabulous property, great views, very peaceful. Getting to the property is a bit treacherous at night with narrow roads, but after getting used to it, it wasn't so bad. Would be nice to be able to open the windows in the evenings, because the downstairs rooms get warm, but we had issues with bugs getting in. Otherwise, loved our stay!

Perfect villa with perfect views

This place was terrific! There were 4 of us and it allowed us enough space for privacy and great common areas for times together. The views are amazing from this house! We had the pool heated but sadly it still wasn’t warm enough for the cold spell that came through. The villa is located in a sleepy village away from Funchal noise and congestion. Everything you need is 5 mins away. Easy drive to Funchal when you want to venture in. Joana was super prompt and was attentive to all our needs. Highly recommend this villa for anyone wanting comfort, space, cleanliness, and fantastic views!

Thanks Laura for your kind message! Unfortunately you were not lucky with the weather (which is not normal on the island) ;( I would like to invite you to a longer stay at Madeira island, we have our brand new villa in Funchal, "Villa Alvinho" and another one at Porto Santo Island "Villa Golf". It'll be a pleasure to welcome you again. Farewell!

Terrific place to get away from it all.

We were extremely pleased with our stay. The property very much resembled the photos, and my biggest complaint was it was so nice laying by the pool, it was hard to leave to go see the rest of the island. Property manager Joana was very accommodating and hit the perfect mix of making sure we had everything we needed without needing to bother us throughout our stay. Would highly recommend this spot to family and friends (and strangers on the internet or anyone who will listen to me really). We opted for the heated option because one of us (I won’t say who) is a baby in cold water and it was perfect. One minor note, and I don’t consider it a negative but it should be said, if you’re driving a manual vehicle, be comfortable with hills and tight turns!

Stunning views!

We have just returned from a wonderful 2 week holiday in Madeira. The property was lovely but does need some cosmetic work doing to it (someone did come to look at one of the issues whilst we were there). The views from the property are amazing. There is some building work taking place in the valley below but this didn't really bother us. We did like to have the bedroom door open to let the breeze blown through but we did get a few little visitors so be warned. Joana was very helpful and responded to our queries quickly. I would highly recommend a Jeep tour with a company called Miguel is Here, his knowledge of the island was excellent and this was one of the highlights of our trip.

Voorzieningen waren goed in orde.
