The lodge was beautiful and the bed was amazing!!The wildlife outside the cabin was lovely to watch, the birds of prey, squirrels and the Robin that visited.Dog friendly and secure, also a fair distance from any roads with traffic. The local town of Wallingford was nice to visit and the castle site was interesting. The lodge could use some updating, the gates need to be hung better so they can be latched without having to handle. The BBQ needs to be updated, we cooked on it but without a grill and height from the flames it can be difficult to use and flet unstable. The wooden step as you enter the gates need to be changed and made secure so it doesn't move. The step into the lodge would also benefit from being made level as I slipped twice and my partner once. If wet I'm sure I would have fallen over. These are minor things and I would gladly stay again. Very relaxing.

Looks amazing in advert. As I drove on past the recycling plant onto the property, it looked messy and rundown. I was very disappointed. Tim was not there to meet but a neighbor named Ali was. Once inside the lodge it was 'nice', everything was okay. Kitchen area was okay had everything to cook and eat with. 'Cows Milk', in the fridge. I'm vegan. Bed was Huge and extremely comfortable. Sofa material was scratchy so I didn't use. Chair could have done with a freshen up. No Wi-Fi password so phone signal was weak. Tv came with Prime so a plus. Shower cubicle needed a good scrub as was full of water stains. Ants on shower floor. Overall lighting was with exposed wires (Not live just showing). View of field was nice from the bed to look at. Noise level was extremely high for the country as you're 5 mins drive from RAF Benson base so there flying in and out. Wouldn't come back and left a day early. Wasted my money. had a generaic email response after paying as no response from 'Tim', after asking about vegan restaurants of recommendations.

Lovely, comfortable accommodation with 'feel good factor' of being environmentally friendly. Cosy.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Ecolodge, Wallingford. Clever design and green technology made this a comfortable and convenient stay. It is plenty big enough for a small family, though accommodation not really private enough for two couples. Kitchen and utility well provided. Bathroom nice and warm but shower a bit weak. Views across the field lovely to wake up to. Host, Tim, really friendly and welcoming.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and we are glad that you enjoyed your stay. Yes, we have been careful that the eco design should enhance rather than reduce the decor and comfort of the lodge but felt that a power shower would not fit well with our eco aim so we went for a design that provided plenty of hot water without a high demand for energy. And you will be pleased to hear that our new solar panels are now generating more energy than the lodge is using during the day so we are able to export the excess back to the Grid.

A very special place!

We loved the sustainability of the lodge which was comfy and had a peaceful serene atmosphere. We loved Tim’s enthusiasm. He was so welcoming and helpful and made staying in Mizpah an absolute pleasure. His little cat clearly likes the charms of Mizpah and gullible visitors too! And we were more than happy to welcome our feline friend. We saw gorgeous sunrises and sunsets as well as bird life from the lodge, and had great fun beginning to explore the abundant walks, pubs and places of interest, there just wasn’t enough time so we will have to return. Real gem this place. We were sad to leave!

Thanks so much for spending the time to write reviews, both on here and in our guest book! I see you even managed to find the very olde worlde Black Horse pub right in the middle of the Stoke Row woods! Quite an achievement! We do hope you come back sometime in the future. Nkunzi the cat misses you both already ;-)

Like the Eco ideas. Centrally located. Welcoming owners. Spacious.

Love the whole Eco idea. Knew it was next to a recycling tip so that was not a problem. More space than we imagined and Tim was very welcoming and friendly. Outside space was perfect for us and our dog. Nice to sit on the deck with a glass of wine. I guess the own down points would be silly things, like the mirror inthe bathroom was so high I could barely see in it and I am 5ft 6ins. There was no larger mirror to be able to see clothes before you go out, important for me. The interior of the bathroom was a bit shabby, with missing skirting and painting was really needed, it kind of let the whole place down. The oven...... well I put dinner in the oven for half an hour at the temp of 8, which should have cooked it perfectly. It was so lukewarm that I could pick the dish out with my bare hands, the oven just did not get hot at all. Luckily we transferred everything into the microwave. We went to use the wok, and someone had put it away in the cupboard absolutely filthy, still with dirty oil and food particles sitting in it... perhaps whoever cleans for a changeover may like to check this in future. Not a pleasant surprise. So overall a great stay, just looked a bit in need of TLC here and there.

Fantastische plek.

wonderful out of the way spot

We loved the eco lodge. Lots of home comforts in a great location. We explored the River Thames, the Chilterns and Oxford from this countryside cabin. The nearby town of Wallingford had lots of charm and local amenities and its only 10 minutes away. Thanks for letting us use the lodge Tim.

A well equipped lodge with a lovely view. A place to unwind and relax

A great lodge with lots of eco friendly points, without losing any of the comforts. The spacious open plan layout was still cosy because of the thoughtful details of the owner. Our stay was just what we needed peaceful and secluded. Tim & Sarah being the best of hosts, very friendly, welcoming and accommodating; their affection for the lodge is infectious. Would love to visit again soon

A very peaceful and homely lodge

We had such a lovely stay here and so did our dog. Enjoyed early walks in the adjacent woods before breakfast and then long walks along the river with an occasional pub stop, and back to this lovely home where everything has been supplied for a very comfortable stay. Tim's passion for all things green is an inspiration and we came home fully recharged and with plans for another visit soon. Highly recommended!

Beautiful peaceful ecolodge with lovely hosts

We had an excellent two night stay in this charming and welcoming lodge. Tim and Sarah were extremely helpful and welcoming hosts. Everything was done to make us feel welcome, from excellent communication in advance of our stay, to some beautiful home-made produce which was provided at the accommodation. The lodge itself is in a lovely, quiet location which made for a relaxing stay for the two of us and our 10-week old son. It's very well equipped and very tastefully furnished. We would not hesitate to recommend it and hope to visit again some time.

Peaceful retreat

Mizpah Lodge is in a very quiet location that allows for a peaceful relaxing break from the norm. It is situated close to Wallingford that offers a range of eating places including several take away options. There was a good view across the fields of the helicopters going in and out of RAF Benson. The Lodge was well equipped with everything we needed. It was warm and comfortable. (However, if you have allergies be warned the pillows etc are filled with feathers) We enjoyed walking along the Thames with our little dog and stood for a while watching Benson Lock. This was a last minute booking for a two day escape. Tim was very helpful and quick to respond to emails. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Lodge to others.
