About this property

With Stunning Views, A Great Location For Mountain Activities And Relaxing

Situated in the quiet hamlet of Gripp with stunning mountain views Gibson Grange gite is part of a small 18th century converted farm at 1000m altitude set within a secure garden. It is an ideal location for couples or small families to have a relaxing holiday. The gite has one first floor bedroom, a lounge (with double sofa bed), kitchen, separate toilet and shower room on the ground floor. There is a sun terrace with BBQ and plenty of outdoor space. The gite also has off road parking.

There is a double bed (140 x 190cm) with a chest of draws and hanging space in the first floor bedroom. If you require a cot please let us know in advance.
The booking price includes linen for the double bed only. If you require additional bedding this can be requested prior to arrival costing 10€/bed.

The toilet is separate to the main shower room. Both are located on the ground floor.

With the mountains on your doorstep there are numerous outdoor activities to enjoy. There are endless kilometres of paths in and around the Campan valley which you can explore on foot. For the more energetic guests; situated on the Route du Tourmalet we have great access for road cyclists wishing to attempt some cols made famous by the Tour de France which comes past the property most summers. There is also a lot of mountain biking trails through the surrounding woods and a down hill course with lift access open during the summer months in Bareges (30 mins away). La Mongie Ski resort is just 15 minutes drive from Gibson Grange and is ideal for first time skiers or families, with over 100km of pistes to explore. Why not come for a weekend skiing with flights available from Stansted Airport to Lourdes (50 minutes from Gibson Grange)

You could visit the local town of Bagneres de Bigorre and relax in the Spa pool Aquensis or make a pilgrimage to the historic town of Lourdes.

Spain is only an hours drive and is great for a day out at the beautiful blue canyons.

The owners live next door and share the large fenced garden along with their 2 children and young lively female border collie dog.

Welcoming and knowledgeable hosts. Great location for cycling and walking as long as you like hills. We enjoyed exploring the Pyrennes and the Tourmolet.

Wonderful Location

We came to see mountain peaks and more than achieved it. Gibson Grange is in an ideal location with the prospects of many activities both winter and summer. The gite was clean and well equipped and Juliet and Andrew on hand for any questions or advice. Would highlight recommend.

Adorable GIBSON GRANGE

Magnifique logis, chez l'habitant, situé dans les Hautes-Pyrénées près du col d'Aspin et du col de Tourmalet. La vue est paradisiaque et le coin jardin ajoute au bien être des lieux. Les propriétaires sont conviviales, chaleureux et respectueux de l'intimité de leurs hôtes. Pour résumer, un séjour inoubliable.

Tanto la estancia como los alrededores son estupendos. La calidez de la cabaña es indudable, totalmente acomodada para pasar unos días de tranquilidad. Tuvimos la suerte de ver nevar y apreciar el paisaje en todas sus formas. Los dueños son encantadores y sus hijos también.

Excellent emplacement pour aller au Pic du Midi proche de la nature.

Nous sommes très content de notre week-end, l'objectif était d'être proche de la nature et en période de brame du cerf pouvoir l'entendre, c'était parfait car nous avons une nuit bercée sous le brame du cerf, mais pour ceux qui n'aime pas cela ne dure que 2 semaines mi-septembre à fin septembre. De plus nous étions à 1/4 d'heure de voiture du pic du midi, génial pour la visite. Merci au propriétaire voisin du gîte très discret. Céline et Christophe

Agréable séjour

Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour dans le gite de Juliet et Andrew. Très accueillants, il ont su être très discrets aussi alors que leur maison est mitoyenne du gîte. Il est parfait pour 2 personnes : très bien conçu, très fonctionnel avec tous les ustensiles nécessaires (sauf une chaise longue qui manque quand on veut lire un bon bouquin dehors !). Le gîte est très bien situé à mi chemin sur la route qui mènent aux cols d'Aspin et du Tourmalet, hauts lieux de randonnées. La contrepartie un peu gênante est que nous avons eu droit à un interminable défilé (du matin au soir) de motos, voitures, camping-cars. Si cela n'etait pas gênant lorsque nous étions dans le gîte, ça l'était davantage lorsque nous mangions dehors. Je recommande.

Rural Retreat in the Pyrenees

Neat tidy property with a very good outside space in the grounds of the owners property. The accommodation is as described on the site. The stairs to the bedroom are quite steep, the bedroom itself has ample storage space. The owners are welcoming and very helpful in suggesting days out in the area. This is a big skiing and cycling area so for those of us not really interested in either activity this advice proved invaluable. Most of the highlights of the region did involve crossing one or other of the two Cols to reach other valleys. The first time was quite daunting, but less so on subsequent climbs and descents. The scenery is spectacular as you might expect. The small kettle BBQ (charcoal) is ideal for two people and there are two outdoor seating options away from the family area. Not all properties of this size provide a washing machine - this one does and we found that a bonus. There are supermarkets relatively close by in Bagneres de Bigorre and La Mongie in the other direction. We had an excellent week here and happily recommend it as a quiet space to relax in and explore part of the Pyrenees.

Un tres bel endroit,tres fleuri,joliment decore, Mais maison etouffante,sans ventilation,surtout a l etage,une etuve Avec trop de mouches a l interieur, Nous sommes des montagnards conscients des mouches dans les fermes,aucuns problemes mais les proprietaires ont des moustiquaires a toutes les fenetres et a la porte d entree,et etonamment La proprietaire etait etonnee pour la chaleur et les mouches!!

Gibson Grange was absolutely perfect for our impromptu weekend snow trip. Only 10 min drive to La Mongie, Fireplace was beautiful, ample bedding, super responsive and friendly owners, well equipped kitchen. Would highly recommend this accommodation!

Gibson Grange is a great base for mountain adventures. We are always on hand to answer guests questions offering a friendly stay with a shared garden that guests are welcome to use.
If you have sports kit we have plenty of space to store it securely and a large parking area away from the road next to the gite.

What makes this property unique

Gibson Grange is a great location for skiers as it is adjacent to the route nationale D918 which is the main road up to the ski resort and is cleared of snow throughout the ski season between 05:00 and 20:00.
