Elegant & Romantic Cottage In A Village Situated Between Two Busy Market Towns

The quality furnished Cottage is available throughout the year and caters for short breaks (minimum of two nights) as well as weekly holidays . We're here to help by offering you a range of themes and service options to enable you to celebrate in a relaxing environment. Pets are by arrangements with the owners.

The elegant detached cottage is set within the beautiful walled grounds of the main house and has its own private garden to the front. Full use of the grounds are provided. The cottage offers additional sleeping arrangements (+2) to a maximum of 4 if required. Enjoy a BBQ under the shade of the many trees, or in the cottage garden.

On entering the cottage, the floor tiled hallway leads to a quality furnished double bedroom with luxury bedding, dressers and wardrobe. The bedroom is spacious and there is ample room for a cot or single bed. The ground floor bedroom is cool and ideal for those warm summer nights. Heating is provided in cooler months.

A spacious and modern shower and WC is also accessible from the hallway. Luxury towels and soaps are provided.

From the hallway the stairs lead to a comfortable and spacious open plan living area consisting of comfortable lounge, dining and kitchen area. Wi-Fi & free view TV are provided at no extra cost as are all utilities.

The living area consist of two settees (one double sofa bed), TV, music centre, coffee table, books games etc.

The kitchen provides, gas cooker, fridge, washing machine, toaster, Bosh coffee maker, kettle and all kitchen utilities. The dining area caters for up to four persons, with matching crockery and all you need to enjoy eating in.

A standard welcome pack is provided for stays of 7 nights or more. Should you wish for something more we can offer you a wide range of welcome packs or special themed occasions to suit your very need.

We pride our selves on the quality of the gardens which we have loving brought back to life.

The front garden is laid mainly to lawn with a variety of unusual flowering trees, shrubs and roses. Each month from March through to October brings a new special moment, whether its the Judas Tree, Catalpa, Asian Silk Tree or one of the many laurel trees. With trees, shrubs and stone buildings comes a wide range of wildlife including red squirrels, the Hoopoe bird (nesting on the property), cuckoos and wood peckers amongst many other varieties.

To the rear of the property is a lawn, cherry trees, fig trees, plum tree, blackcurrants, black gooseberry and raspberries (including the Californian variety). All of which you invited to sample when in season.

There is also a large gravelled drive to the rear which extends to a Parking parking area next to the Cottage.

The property is ideally located for visiting the many attractions of the immediate area, such as the old silver mines of Melle, the Royal Abbey of Celles-sur-belle. Or further afield the daily market, excellent shops, restaurants, riverside castle and walks in the commercial capital Noirt. Nearby is Zoodyssée an animal park in the forêt de Chizé with over 50 acres of parkland. Futuroscope is 45 minutes away and the Atlantic resort of La Rochelle (75 minutes). Cognac, Bordeaux, Limoges, Angouleme and Puy du Fuy (voted the world’s best theme park) are all within easy reach for a day’s outing.

For those days when you want to simply relax, sunbathe (two sun loungers are available), read under a shady tree, enjoy a BBQ or do something a bit more energetic such as a game of tennis (local courts), badminton (front lawn), or make use of our indoor games area with a game of table tennis, a work out on the cross trainer, exercise bike or enjoy a game of darts. We provide all equipment including two mountain bikes to enable you to enjoy a cycle through the local lanes and hamlets.

The two local towns have their respective markets on Tuesdays and Fridays, selling a wide variety and local produce including the areas famous goats cheese 'chabichou'. There are many enjoyable local restaurants providing an excellent range of foods. Both towns have the usual range of supermarkets, bars, pharmacies, banks and tabacs. An English speaking vets is only 5Km away.
