Lovely gite. Sat out on the terrace and watched lizards, thrushes, flycatchers and butterflies in...

It is such a lovely little gite. We really enjoyed our stay here. Unfortunately we didn't get to meet the owner as we had a text from her to say she didn't meet us as she couldn't speak English so any queries would be better sent to poplidays. It is an ancient old watermill and the mill race is still there so the sound of running water was an enjoyable extra. Whilst the gite was great the description of the facilities on the website is inaccurate. There is parking in front of the gite, although in tge description it said 'No parking' and the bed was already made up so we didn't need the bedlinen we brought from England. Although it stated that we needed to bring our own bedlinen and towels. Bring your own towels though as they are not included. The list of the facilities omitted the fact that there is an iron, and a hairdryer and this too needs to be amended as we brought our own which wasn't necessary. There is even an ironing board there. I will be writing to Poplidays to ask them to amend the list of facilities. That apart this is no reflection on the gite as it is a lovely place to stay and we would happily stay there again. One thing I would ask the owner though would be please could you give some details of the history of this ancient mill in the information book in the gite, that is if you have any information about it?

Wohlfühlen mit kleinen Einschränkungen

Das Haus wurde liebevoll saniert und eingerichtet. Die Einrichtung entsprach den Fotos bei der Buchung. Wünschenswert wären vlt. ein paar Garderobenhaken im Erdgeschoss, aber das dort befindliche Sofa erfüllt zur Ablage auch seinen Zweck. Die Terrasse vor dem Haus ist gemütlich, der Verkehr welcher ca. 30 m auf der Straße vor der Terrasse geführt wird, ist minimal. Wir hatten bei Ankunft 1,5 Tage Regen. Dies führte leider zu Geruchsbelästigung im Erdgeschoss. Offensichtlich beginnt der Sturzbereich über dem Küchenfenster zu schimmeln. Wir haben der Vermieterin Bescheid gesagt. Dies wurde anfangs allerdings eher belächelt. Die restlichen Tage war es trocken - kein Geruch, alles wunderbar. Wenn die Stelle saniert wird, sind Regentage sicherlich kein Wehmutstropfen hier. Nachts konnten wir sogar die Milchstraße sehen, so klar war der Himmel. Dem Waldkauz konnte man zuhören, einen Hirsch und Wildschweine durften wir ebenfalls entdecken. Gegen Abend bellten ein paar Hunde in der Nachbarschaft. Wer mit eigenem Hund hier ist, der bei so etwas nicht zu Ruhe kommt, kann nur die Fenster schließen.

Wanneer je van echte rust houd

Je moet beschikken over een rijbewijs want alles wat enigszins interessant is ligt op ca. 1 uur rijden vanaf deze locatie. Er is verder weinig te beleven. Verder is het een prima huisje maar met erg veel wespen omdat het vuil inleverpunt 50 meter bij het huis vandaan is. Voor ons was het dus niet hetgeen we ervan gehoopt hadden maar daar kan de verhuurder verder niets aan doen.

Gite bien équipé et propre. Cadre de vie agréable. Petit espace de verdure pour les chiens.
