Wavesong Cottage: Perched on Lake Michigan between Ludington and Manistee

Wavesong Cottage has been in our family since it was built in 1994. The master suite was added in 2006. Nestled in the Manistee National Forest right on Lake Michigan, it is a spacious cottage with high ceilings and a spectacular view that just swallows you up in its beauty. Come and enjoy the multi-tiered deck which is a great place to hang out and have a few drinks, play a game, or experience the most spectacular sunsets you have ever seen. Spend time connecting with family around the fire pit or play a game of corn hole while listening to the waves crash on the beach. Private stairs (68 steps) lead you down to our private beach. Spend the day exploring nearby Manistee and stroll down the boardwalk along the water or take in the local farmer's market. If you're interested in golf, Manistee National and Manistee Country Club are only 10 minutes away while Arcadia Bluffs Golf Club is only 45 minutes away.
Cuddle up in the massive Master Suite and wash off the sand in the spacious walk-in dual headed tile shower, have your morning coffee outside the sliding glass door with a perfect view of the lake. Enjoy the open floor plan with friends and family while everyone is gathered around the fireplace to take in a delicious meal made in the newly remodeled kitchen. It is a comfortable and airy space to get away from it all!

Owner has equipped the property very well, and also taken time to label everything and leave clear instructions for use. This might seem like a small detail, but is so helpful when you are in someone else’s space. The property was beautifully/ comfortably furnished. The quiet, wooded location, view, and beach were OUTSTANDING. We’ve stayed on the Big Lake several times, and we all agreed that this property is our #1 FAVORITE!

This place was perfect. My sister and I needed a getaway of peace and quiet and Wavesong was the perfect place. The beach was awesome and relaxing on the deck was great after a day on the beach. There was everything you would need in the house. I would definitely stay here again.

The Wavesong Cottage is a beautiful home with a fabulous view of lake from inside and out. Very well stocked, with comfortable bedding and linens, paper & cleaning products, and gas grill for cooking. While there is no oven, there is a large toaster oven. Guest should be aware the cottage sits approximately 7 stories up stairs from the beach. Overall, it was a great cottage for our family vacation!

Thank you for your kind words and feedback. I just wanted to clarify for future renters that the cottage sits on a bluff with 72 stairs equal to about 4 flights not 7. Also, there is a convection oven/microwave combo that can be utilized for baking on a cookie sheet or a baking dish up to a 9x13 size. We also have a large toaster oven, Weber grill, griddle, electric skillet and a large four burner cooktop. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay, you were lovely guests. Beautiful house and location

We had a great stay. The steps to the beach are not a problem at all. I was worried about them but my 6 and 8 year old didn't have an issue with them. This is one of the nicer rentals I have stayed at over the years.

Our family of 5 had an excellent stay at Wavesong Cottage! The house was clean, comfortable, and well stocked. The shade trees and provided fans kept the house and yard comfortable on warm days. The beach was absolutely amazing and we spent lots of time swimming, paddling on our SUPs, and taking long walks. There are 81 stairs down to the beach. The steps are in good shape and there is a hand rail. There were 8 Adirondack chairs down at the beach and 8 more up around the deck area as well as a picnic table - so plenty of outdoor seating.We would definitely stay at Wavesong again!

Absolutely stunning

I can’t think of any better way to end an evening than to watch the sun set over the water. Spent time wandering the beaches searching for Petosky stones and just enjoying the lake. The weather could not have been better. A definite must stay location if you are thinking of a vacation on Lake Michigan.

Family Christmas in August

Rather than do Christmas gifts last year we decided as a family to do a get away in the summer instead. We are so glad we chose Wavesong as our destination. Great place with a great view of Lake Michigan. Sunsets were gorgeous. The place is spotless and has everything you need. As others have stated, service for cell phones in the area is very weak. However, the place has WIFI so you can text and have email. No phone calls but face time works. Great stay!

The internet/WiFi was nill to none. Would not plan to work at this one. It won’t happen. Cells phones don’t work either so plan to disconnect at this stay. Beautiful home, on Lake Michigan (view is amazing) close to downtown Manistee. Great vacation. Thank you for this one

Lovely property!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wavesong. As noted, everything was clean. Kitchen well stocked with dishes and cooking items/pots & pans. Plenty of nice towels was very much appreciated. Note that cell service is very spotty but wifi connectivity was good. Remember to write down the door code and wifi password before arriving - I didn’t and had to drive back out to a main road to get a connection and access the letter from the host, Julie. Lesson learned! Thank you for providing such an awesome home!
