'First Chair Vista' - Walk Directly onto Slopes!

Going Skiing- You can't get any closer. When they make snow, it's falling on your roof. This ski in, ski out property is located on the main slope of the Sugar Mountain Ski Resort. From your living room you can tell the color of a skiers eyes as they go down the professionally groomed slopes. This home has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. Owners spared no expense when it comes to comfort. All beds have brand new memory foam mattresses and the bungalow is equipped with a tankless water heater that offers unlimited hot water after a cold day on the slopes. It has a fully equipped kitchen so you can provide the cuisine your group desires during and between their runs on the mountain. Large TV with cable in the living room will provide entertainment when not skiing. Unit also offers wireless internet and is equipped with a washer and dryer. Completely renovated in 2019, it is a skiers heaven to stay. This ski bungalow sleeps up to 8 people. Slopesider 13 is the lower level of a duplex home. The upper floor is not rented so no noise from guests above. This unit does have outside security cameras to monitor wildlife. Absolutely NO PETS! No Check-in's Thanksgiving Day or Christmas Day. All guests required to sign rental agreement upon booking.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I had a family ski trip with age range from 70 - 3 years of age. The cabin was clean and they had great kitchen accessories for cooking. There was 2 places to park and unload as you walk down stairs to the lower level. The bathrooms were updated and nice showers when you get off the slope. The stepping outside and going down the slope was fabulous and skiing back also very grand. The kids wished they had a hot tub but that wasn't a deal breaker. We had to figure out the thermostat as there was heat when you needed it but was hard to get the thermostat to kick off when it got warm enough. We kept it at the lowest setting most of the time.

Great Location, a few issues

Enjoyed the property. Love the location and the view! We had some issues with the heating system that could have been a bigger issue than it was. The property management team was considerate about the issue but couldn't resolve it prior to our departure. Probably won't stay again. Furnishings are nice and the best of the locations we've stayed at Sugar.

Great Property

Our kids go to Sugar Mountain snow boarding every year, we booked this property because of its location. it is clean and cozy, convenient to everything we need for the ski trip. Besides watching our own kids we really enjoyed watching other people going down the slope! The only few minor things we struggled with was working with the thermostat (keeps on stop heating in bedrooms), not to have big enough of pans to cook for 8 People, and we only had pillows and bed covers for 6 - but the management was very nice and responded as soon as we called the next morning. The overall experience was good, and we will consider to stay at the property again in next winter!

Perfect for our situation (2 kids and 4 adults) and we had the best time. Easy check-in. Very roomy (actually larger than what I thought from the pictures). No issues with cleanliness. Perfect location. Just a few steps and your on a green slope. I think we had more fun watching skiers from the living room and laughing than we actually did skiing. Suggestions are to add some type of fireplace under the TV, more comfortable mattresses and an option to rent the top section, but other than that perfect. Would stay here again and would recommend.

Right on the slopes!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: If you want ski in ski out, this is it! No steps from the bottom level to the slopes and very level terrain vs other slope homes. House was plain but clean, had most everything needed in the kitchen and comfy beds. The second bathroom is on the smaller side, but the master bathroom is the very roomy. Our kids love the bunk room! There are tons of hooks throughout the home for hanging ski things, but not much closet space for true hanging clothes during other months. A few chairs in the kitchen vs just the benches would be nice, but we made it work for game nights and meals. I’d also suggest adding a few chairs outside (or pack your own camping chairs) to enjoy the nice gravel area along the slope. This condo does not have access to a deck but the gravel area is a great place to watch the action on the slopes. Definitely a great spot to enjoy the slopes and time with your travel group!

But the location is terrific.

“Lil” Jack also has a short fuse. He hung up the phone on me.

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Jack called 6 hours before check-in panicked and overwhelmed because the ski resort was hit with a snow storm, he told us not to come because it was all closed down. When I questioned him about providing a different property he got angry and hung up on me. Apparently Jack is also the local weatherman who decides who he thinks can make it based on where they live. I’ve seen snow taller than Jack and we made it with no problem. His office staff told me he got stuck three times that morning. Made me laugh. Jack also referred to the units owner as an ***hole. He tried to ruin our vacation but he failed.Unit says it sleeps 8......4-5 maybe. Absolutely not 8. Door code was invalid, twice. They opened the door remotely the first time, we were never able to lock the unit for 3 days.Unit had good parking, Great ski access. It was clean.

We are very sorry your experience didn't meet your expectations. We were only trying to warn all of our guests of travel conditions since we had just had a major snow storm that caused a state of emergency from the governor to stay off the roads. Local law enforcement and road crews were having a hard time getting roads cleared and rescuing stuck drivers. Jack and others got stuck in the early morning on secondary roads that had not yet been plowed. By the time you arrived roads on the mountain had been plowed/treated. Our existing guests were having a hard time leaving as we had 12 to 20 inches of snow and it was still snowing. Calling was only a courtesy and we apologize if you think otherwise. (We would like to make a note that we would never call anyone by improper names, nor did we refer to owners as such.) We also apologize that your door code did not sync properly. Unfortunately, that does happen from time to time. We are not able to open a door remotely so the new code that we gave you must have worked and you were just unaware. We never received any more calls from you about this issue or we would have gladly sent someone to show you how to work the lock. This is a smaller unit, but one that has been completely remodeled. The bedding is for 8 as the unit has 2 queen beds, a set of bunks and a sleeper sofa. The advertisement of the bedding is accurate. We apologize if this bedding arrangement was not comfortable for you. Again, our only objective was people's safety and to warn everyone of the hazardous conditions. We would also like to note that upon your departure, you left all the windows open. This was in the middle of a snowstorm in freezing temperatures and had we not caught it when we did could have resulted in busted pipes. We can only assume this was an attempt to air out the unit as we found evidence of marijuana. As stated in the rental agreement you signed, we strictly prohibit the use of drugs or any other illegal activity in our units.

everything we could have wanted!

On a previous trip to sugar, we saw these homes on the ski slope and I was so happy to be able to book one of them. Super convenient for us - walk out the back door and ski down - voila! There was a lack of snow this year but that is no one's fault (in years past there was plenty of snow and it was freezing). Roads up the mountain are very narrow and windy and parking is limited (hard to turn large suv around) but that is the mountain. House had absolutely everything we needed to cook in a couple nights (local restaurants super busy and hard to get in). Beds were comfortable and nice linens. We felt like we were at home here. Perfect setup for my family of 4 plus my parents who met us there. Look forward to renting this place again next year! My parents don't ski but they enjoyed sightseeing when we skiied and then we all did Ice Skating together, meals, etc. View from the ktichen/living room was so nice while we ate meals and relaxed. The floor was durable and plenty of mats to put boots and shoes on which was great (have stayed other places with carpet and you have to take all the shoes off outside etc.) Lots of hooks to hang clothes and towels on - really well planned out. Had a few questions here and there and PM got right back to us. Highly recommend. Nice and modern and clean!

Very Nice

This rental was very clean and in the perfect location! We enjoyed just sitting in the living room watching our kids snowboard along with all the other people skiing and snowboarding. The home looks exactly like the pictures and was just what we expected. Very comfortable for a family of 5!

Long weekend at Sugar

We had a great time and enjoyed our stay at Slopesider 13. This is a renovated lower unit with fantastic views. True ski-in/ski-out, super convenient location! Everything is exactly as described, and we would definitely rent this unit again!
