We has an enjoyable stay. The house was very nice. We had dock space for 2 boats. The deck overlooking the water was good. Having a gas grill, charcoal grill, deep fryer and firepit was good.
This house was just what we were looking for - we wanted a king bed, and two beds for each of our kids. We had 3 dogs and the house was nicely fenced in. Neighbors were super nice. Only wish there were kayaks or paddle boards on the property to use - we brought our own inflatable ones, could have saved some trunk space with the 3 dogs but that just might be us. Lots of games to play and places to sit. Wish we could have stayed longer!
Marianne’s property is perfect for a relaxing getaway to Harsens Island. A well-appointed home in a great location.
The home was very clean and well-maintained.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Nagy House. The home and location are both excellent and the protected well behind the home along with the dock for swimming in the river are both added bonuses to this property. We look forward to coming back!
Amazing views, beautiful Cottage, wonderful host. Could not ask for anything more.
Great swimming right off of the dock, ample docking space for an 18-20 ft boat, game filled closet for rainy days.
We enjoyed every moment of our getaway at the Nagy Cottage.
Such a great cottage right on the water, vintage board games for the day it rained, plenty of beach towels for the days it didn't, all around a lovely experience and cannot wait to go back!
House is roomy, well stocked, good condition, clean, includes big kitchen, big propane bbq, nice bonfire pit, friendly neighbors. Owner is awesome, too, with great communication. The view of the river is very peaceful in the morning and evening, as well as fun during afternoon with a variety of boats and freighters going by. Very close to muskamoot Bay which is tons of fun, and Browns bar. Really enjoyed our stay on this laid back island with this great property.
Harsens Island's single tiny town, Sans Souci, translates as "without a care," which also perfectly describes the feeling of vacationing at a cottage so clean, so cozy yet spacious, no well furnished and well equipped, that I desired nothing more. It sets the standard. Thank-you, Nagy House!!!!
This cottage was perfect for our family stay. We enjoyed sitting on the patio, hanging on the dock, fishing, floating, watching boat traffic and marveling at the freighters going by. The bunkhouse was great for short stays of family members who lived in the Detroit area. We fell in love with everything Sans Souci. Weather couldn’t have been better to boot. Property owner and property manager were very nice and accommodating. We’ll be back for a much longer stay next time!
We really enjoy Harson's Island, and this is a very nice cottage on the lower South Channel. It is laid out very well and has been updated.
This is the second year in a row that we rented, so that says it all.
Just got home from a fantastic five day stay on Harsen’s Island. The home was exactly as described. It was very clean. Kitchen was well stocked with anything you would need, plenty of cookware, even saw a slow cooker. Made use of the washer and dryer. Plenty of hot water (seemed to be an issue in a previous review), but we had no problem at all. The air conditioning units kept the home extremely comfortable even with very hot and humid temps outside. Linens were clean. We enjoyed the selection of books on the shelves and the sets of binoculars for bird, freighter, and people watching! Highly recommend getting the free MarineTraffic app so you know when to look for freighters. Recommend doing the majority of your shopping before you get on the ferry. We picked up odds and ends at the Market and enjoyed visiting the coffee shop, gift shop, and Schoolhouse Grille. My kids (14 and 10) enjoyed jumping from the dock. Bringing our boat that we were able to dock at the house really added to the trip. Recommend taking personal boats to Muscamoot Bay where the water is warmer and shallow. Views from all parts of the island are spectacular! Thank you for sharing your property, Marianne! We hope to come back!
If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing place to stay to regroup and recharge your batteries this is the place. The house is beautiful and well taken care of. The owner pays attention to every detail and is available for anything needed. The property is on the water with a wonderful view of Canada and frequent freighters. We will definitely be visiting again
Perfect venue for a family who loves the water and being together enjoying their time away from everything. Host almost instantly handled any questions we had and very very attentive.
We will be back! thanks!
This place was fantastic. I entertained family and it is a great house for entertaining! The only problem I encountered was with no hot water and I'm not sure the heater was working as I came in mid-October. Other than that it was wonderful!
Beautiful, clean, well tooled kitchen and different place to escape from city life by the water. I loved that I could bring my boxer dog but was a little worried about what to expect. No worries! The house was beautifully decorated and very clean (no odors). Although the weather did not cooperate and rained most of the time, we thoroughly enjoyed the house with our sons. The wonderful thing is that although it was only an hour away, the environment of Harsens Island was totally different from anywhere else that I have been. We were celebrating my sister's retirement and she felt that this would be our future getaway. Marianne provided excellent and caring customer service and was easy to contact when our sons decided to come. The bunkhouse was a great addition so that my son who is working from home because of Covid, had a private place to work. Thank you Marianne for sharing your lovely home.
