Relaxing 3BR Family Get Away Walk to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk
Our family beach place is a unique style duplex, (2 separate units), one is accessed at street level and the other is above. The 3 BR 1 BA is our upstairs unit. It has a porch area where you can sit out and have a morning cup of coffee or an evening glass of wine. There is a filtered view of the Boardwalk Log Ride, wharf and bay. The kitchen has recently been remodeled with new appliances and a dishwasher. It opens up to the living room and dining area. The living room is light and bright. The bedrooms and the bathroom are down the hall, separating the living and dining area nicely. Bedroom #1 has a queen size bed and smart tv, bedroom #2 also has a queen, bedroom #3 has a bunkbed, single bed, and a roll away twin bed. There is a private patio area with gas grill, fire pit and colorful market lights. If you bring bikes they can be stored here as the gate has a lock. If the downstairs guests have bikes, they can store there as well. The patio is for your use but with potential sharing if items need to be secured. IMPORTANT; One of our most important house rules is about being mindful of noise. There is often a guest staying in the one-bedroom apartment below, so we kindly ask that you keep things quiet — especially after 10:00 PM. This means being mindful of loud talking, shouting, running, or jumping. Normal footsteps can be heard downstairs, so when things get extra loud it can make for an unpleasant experience for our downstairs guests. We appreciate you helping us keep the space comfortable for everyone by being thoughtful and respectful.

Susan was amazing start to finish. So welcoming and gracious. Her place is conveniently situated in a walkable spot in Santa Cruz. Parks, beach, Boardwalk all so close.
This was the perfect location and it was one of the most well stocked rentals we’ve ever stayed in. Our kids enjoyed the close walk to the boardwalk and the beach. Would definitely recommend staying here!
Our stay was absolutely amazing! Location was perfect, quiet yet still walkable to the boardwalk, downtown, and cute neighborhood walks. The kitchen was well equipped-my family and I are big cooks and we were able to enjoy many home cooked meals. The rooms were comfortable and the bathroom was big enough to accommodate 5 adults easily. Thank you so much for hosting my family!

This was a wonderful apartment to stay in. Although you don’t have a direct ocean view, you are Literally three minutes walking time away from the boardwalk. It’s a great place for family and friends.

My parents and their friends purchased our place many years ago. My grand parents who immigrated from Italy first started vacationing in Santa Cruz. Then they brought their kids (my dad being one of them) and always rented in the Seabright neighborhood. Now my grandparents and dad have passed, my mom still enjoys coming to Santa Cruz accompanied by family, such as me or my siblings, grand children and now great grandchildren. The torch was passed, I am no longer 6, skating around the block, but managing the property and learning to be a great host!!! Being an RN, taking care of people is a great background for that and I love helping to make for a great experience.
Why they chose this property
Everyone who stays at our place, and there have been people who return year after year for 20 years, say that above all, they love the location. They enjoy being able to stroll down to the beach, the harbor, restaurants, coffee places, the Boardwalk, wharf. Not having to use the car much is something people like. There are those that drive into town, pick up their groceries and never use the car again. With kids, it is nice that they can walk down to the Boardwalk and can easily go back an forth. In recent years we turned the side yard into a place to hang out, with fire pit and grill, colored market lights! We are always striving to make our place more comfortable and cozy. There is now a new kitchen where we took out a wall and it opens up to the living room, making the whole area brighter and cohesive. The model for over 50 years had been renting to university students September to June, then our family had weeks in the summer only. What weeks not used by us were rented to family friends. So, the newest change in all of this, is opening it up for new guests to come year long, and for our family to enjoy during the "off" season.
What makes this property unique
The summer is fun in Santa Cruz, the energy is high, it is great. But little known is how awesome the weather is in many of the off season months. It is beautiful most of the time. I love being there when it rains, sitting in a cafe' or coffee place at the ocean side, watching the surf. The Boardwalk is nearby. You can hear the roar of the Big Dipper, and the excited screams from the passengers! Also you will hear the bark of the sea lions coming from the wharf. And the crash of the waves when the tide is in and waves are good size. In December, our neighbor has an elaborate Christmas display. People come from all over to see. It is a nice quiet neighborhood where we all look out for each other.
