We loved everything about this place, the host Larry so kind and inviting, we loved sitting on the front porch and looking out at the beautiful scenery. There wasn't anything we didn't like about it. We will definitely be going back!
We stayed here for 5 days. The pictures dont do justice to the place. If you're looking for a quiet stay with beautiful scenery I highly recommend it. serene and a great reset !! Host was so helpful !
What a great place to stay. We traveled here to fish at Yatesville Lake. The cabin sits on a hillside overlooking a large field and wildlife feeder. The cabin didn’t disappoint as it has everything you could need for a getaway.
Check in and out was simple and Larry is a great host.
Best place we have ever stayed in on our fishing adventures.

Sitting on the front porch seeing the turkeys, deer play. Hearing the birds sing.
Making a fire in the evening with the convenient instructions. Altogether awesome!
We had a fantastic time. We would definitely book it again. Very peaceful and loved watching the wildlife. My husband and I sat on the front porch most of the time. Thank you for sharing your beautiful place with us.
This property is absolutely perfect. We wanted to take in some nearby sites, but found ourselves so enamored with this wildlife haven that most of our trip was spent here. To watching wildlife, fishing the ponds, and hiking to take in the gorgeous views, we never had a reason to leave! The host is extremely pleasant and helpful, and you can really how much they care for the property. Cannot recommend enough!
We have stayed at other cabins, and they cannot compare to the atmosphere of this place. The Larry was just so nice and personable. The cabin was decorated true to a Family Cabin, we could've spent a lot more time just enjoying the family Memorabilia there. It was just out of the way enough to be peaceful.
Thank You Larry for your Hospitality!!!
The property is beautiful, peaceful and quiet. Cabin has all the comforts a person needs. There are numerous books to read relating to history and true stories about people that have grown up in the Appalachian regions. A true wealth of knowledge that may be lost in the future. The wildlife viewing is amazing. Paths for walking leads a person to history in the cemetery. The owner is a fantastic person, easy to talk to and very accessible. We have stayed here prior 2 yrs ago and will definitely be back. A true gem!!!

We loved our stay at Larry's cabin and will most definitely look to stay again sometime! Watching the wildlife venture through & the access to fishing in the ponds was great! Our fur-baby (Bear Jordan) loved running & playing and enjoyed every moment just as we did! Larry is a super host and we really enjoyed the wine he left for us. It was delicious! The only disappointment was that there was not a hot tub available to enjoy as was listed on the amenities when we booked but overall it was a perfect get-away!
We have already booked for next year because we enjoyed our stay so much. We had a big buck come visit us by the fire. We went fishing in the ponds and caught bass and some nice blue gill. The property is beautiful and well maintained. Larry was a great host and checked on us a couple times to make sure we were satisfied. Even though there are a few houses in the area they are still far enough part that there is privacy and you feel a part of nature. We made a trip to the yatesville spillway and did some fishing and had a awesome time catching trout, bass, and hill and it is a beautiful place. We saw lots of deer there too. This area of Kentucky is just beautiful. Thanks so much Larry for being a great host we will see you next year!!!
My husband and I, along with our Aussies spent 3 days at this cabin surrounded by 300 acres, with hiking trails, ponds, and wild life, during late Oct. The views of the property were beautiful with all the Fall colors. If you have the energy, be sure to hike up the hill to the cow pasture. It is about 1 mile round trip. The views at the top are spectacular!
The cabin was clean, with one nice size bedroom that had a queen bed. Another smaller room had bunk beds and also a washer dryer combo unit. No door on smaller room, just fyi.
Everything we needed was provided and we were very comfortable there. Also there was alot of taxidermy animals displayed. (Personally not a fan, so tried to ignore them) . We brought our own food but there are some nearby simple restaurants that I would of tried.
All and all, a great getaway for nature lovers at a great value! Highly recommended!
The cabin was comfortably furnished and inviting. The surroundings were absolutely beautiful. The front porch was a peaceful setting to enjoy nature. There was a pond, a fire pit, and a lot of nature to observe in and around the cabin. Even in the rustic setting, the state of the art TVs had a good variety of channels and programming. The one drawback was the bed which was hard and lumpy at the same time. If you have back or hip problems, bring a mattress pad.
