Had such an amazing time! An hour drive to Sun Valley and only 30 mins to the amazing local ski mountain Soldiers Mountain. Kitchen is well equipped with lots of spices for cooking. Water was hot. We loved the wood hot tub and fireplace. Bill was fantastic and easy to deal with. The property isn’t as isolated as we thought it was, but we still had plenty of privacy and space. Absolutely would stay here again. Be advised nearest grocery is 30 mins away so bring what you need!
This quaint small home was the perfect getaway for my partner and I. We didn't leave the house the five days we were there but there's lots to do in the area. The couch and bed were comfortable. It's a good thing my partner is tall and there was a good step stool, because the kitchen counters are tall. The local cats are all super friendly as well. Ready for pets and snuggles almost immediately. The view is immensely beautiful as well.
Ideal solo or couple retreat for relaxation on the prairie
Bill's place is a very clean, cozy place with everything I needed. Quiet, great sunsets, bright and comfortable. The wood stove makes for nice winter evenings. I really enjoyed my stay, and I'll be adding this spot to my list of nearby getaways.
We stayed out here to get some fly fishing in at Silver Creek and the Big Wood River. We really loved this place and even though there's no A/C, the unique earth berm and fans helped keep the place 10-20° cooler than the sweltering heat wave outside. This place has a lot of really thoughtful touches and uses space in a way that makes it feel a lot bigger on the inside. We have a really nice mattress at home but I like the one here even better-- soft on the top, but firm enough that you don't feel like you're sleeping on a trampoline. The place was super clean and the garden was really cute with veggies and flowers bringing a splash of color.
If we ever come back, we'll definitely see if this place is available.
We thoroughly enjoyed this little cabin, with its views of the sunrise every morning, a beautiful canyon to explore, friendly neighbors and neighborhood dogs, and plenty of warmth and natural light. We would drive to nordic ski north of Ketchum each day, then come 'home' and prepare delicious meals listening to music (bring your speaker), then walk Willow Creek Canyon Road in the evenings, a beautiful mountain view reflecting sunset alpenglow. Bill Greene seems like a kind, thoughtful person and we had no issues whatsoever. Love the cozy wood-burning stove, and the warm, efficient cabin with south-facing windows and doors. We hope to return next year!
Located about an hour to Sun Valley, I booked the place to go skiing on the weekend. The road into the property for about 2 miles is dirt and because it is Spring it was a mix of snow and mud so a 4x4 car is advisable.
The house itself is great for 2 people. The south facing side is all windows and sliding glass doors so it gets great views of the sunrises and sunsets while providing light and heat through out the day. While there is a heating system, the wood furnace is a great way to enjoy the evening and stay warm. Outside there is a nice patio and plenty of firewood.
House was clean and well maintained but there is no space in the closet and only about half the space in the fridge as it is filled with the owner's items. I also would have liked more pictures and information thru Vrbo prior to check-in.
Great spot with wonderful views. Two large sliding glass doors face the view of the hills above the prairie. The wood stove was a great touch after a day of snowkiting. Large kitchen with all the necessities to make great meals. Would definitely stay again.
Spent 5 nights here as a base camp for hunting. Absolutely beautiful cabin, fully stocked with everything you might need. Loved having the wood stove to sit in front of every night. The water was hot and plentiful and having the washer and dryer available was awesome. A couple items to note, the couch is not a fold out couch, you can sleep on it, but it will not become a bed. Also there isn't a grill, luckily we brought our own but something to keep in mind. Would have liked a little more information regarding checkin prior to the night before just for peace of mind, but overall I would absolutely stay here again and am already considering booking for next year. 5 out of 5!
This property was a great hideout to get away from the suburban flyfishing scene in Ketchum. The agricultural neighborhood was full of wildlife including mule deer and pronghorn. Watch out for plentiful skunks in the area. Plan a little extra drive time to the most popular activities.
