Great secluded location. Loved the movie selection the VHS player took us back in time. Kids loved it. Was a great place to go off the grid and enjoy family time.
The place was a decent place to stay! There were mouse poop on the kitchen counters and the place didn’t have any disinfectant wipes. We noticed the mouse poop as soon as we got there. It seemed from the description and the photos that there weren’t any houses around, however there was several houses around us.

Matthew, I’m so sorry for your experience. There was a few days between your Stay and the day that our Cleaner was there. We are in the woods so it’s hard to completely prevent mice from finding a way in. We’ve added more preventative measures since your stay. We are in a cabin community. There are other cabins within several hundred yards. It is very wooded and private, but there are other properties around.

We thought this cottage set by the water but it does not. Its all wooded hills side so I had no where to throw with our dogs. I took the dogs down back and found a leveler place to throw with them. They got into a yellow jacket nest getting stung and bringing the yellow jackets back to me and I got stung 6 times. I contacted the owner and they did send someone out the next day and he found a total of 4 yellow jacket nests in the ground and sprayed them but the yellow jackets was still flying around outside so we had to be very careful not to get stung again. The bed was hard and the living room furniture was not comfortable but it was very clean. Just not the cottage for us. It was a 30 minute drive to Logan so not bad but a little longer than we would have preferred.
Listing is very accurate & we enjoyed our stay. Owners respond quickly & are easy to work with. The inside is cute & has been updated. However, the beds need replaced & deck could use updating (ex. furniture that you can dry off & use after it rains & a newer grill), but those are personal preferences and not everyone will agree.

Thanks for your feedback Kristin, since your stay all beds have been replaced. Grill and patio furniture were also replace. The grill we have to replace about every 2 years because of the excessive use they get with people vacationing. Thanks again for staying and I hope we get to host you again in the future.
The cabin is a welcome break from the urban routine.Definitely be prepared for the driveway and weather. The snow/ice can make it interesting, especially after dark.Nice basic accommodations. I wish I had paid attention to the 2nd floor master bedroom details. My old legs were not stoked about stairs but the adjoining upstairs bathroom was perfect and made it bearable.Beautiful area of old and newly remodeled vacation homes and newly installed tiny homes. We stayed at Cliffs Edge about a mile away 2 years ago. Very similar, minus the private hiking trail.
I enjoyed the cabin. Thanks for hosting.
My welcome card on the counter said enjoy the wine, but there was no wine. My only complaint is that the downstairs cold water knob in bathtub was broken. If I had to pay insurance to protect property, nothing should really be broken.
Thanks again
very nice place, it was a nice disconnect! when she mentioned the hill before the property driveway she wasnt kidding! but it was a great rental, host was great and the place was very clean and family friendly!
Very beautiful and relaxing. Did not know there was no WiFi until I received confirmation. Did not see that when looking for a place. But forced more relaxing. lol. Overall great stay.
We had a nice stay at the Reed. Very quiet location. We didn’t think the road up was bad at all. We have Verizon and we were surprised to have service at the cabin. Enjoyed checking out Honeycomb Rocks, which you do need a free permit to hike at. Also appreciate the cabin’s nearness to Rockhouse.
We had a great time in the area! The hosts are excellent, kitchen had plates, cups, cookware, etc. Area attractions within a 20 minute drive. Only complaint is cabin is pretty dimly lit but it in in the woods surrounded by beautiful trees and greenery.
This was a perfect little cabin hear Hocking Hills state park. The area and scenery were lovely. The cabin was exactly as pictured. It was quiet, cozy and comfy. I do recommend downloading the area map to your device as mobile service was spotty around the cabin. We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend in Ohio.
We had a marvelous stay at The Reed. The weather was oddly warm- 60 for NYE?!! Cabin had everything we needed. Kitchen was well stocked, lots of blankets, dvds, games. We were so happy to unplug and reconnect with each other. Thank you for letting us share in your little slice of nature!
Cute little cottage in the hills, great location for your stay in Hocking Hills. We loved the deck on the back side of the property.
Be prepared to disconnect from phone, internet, etc and just enjoy the company of your travel partners and nature.
We would have liked more eating utensils and better pots and pans due to the fact that we cooked all of our meals but other than that we were very happy with this little place for a great small family getaway!
When they say monster of a hill they aren't kidding. Go passed the first entrance to the driveway and go to the second. The owners supplied everything you need except food. It was pretty clean the kids feet/socks would turn brown from playing but just looking at the floor it didn't look gross and dirty. Showers were clean. They even had shampoo and conditioner. My only 2 complaints are that the bathroom downstairs didn't have good hot water but the upstairs got hot and second is the spiders. Of course there will be spiders though it's in the middle of the woods! There is a giant one that lives on the AC unit, we named him Mr. Reed so keep an eye out for him. Pretty sure he eats birds or something because he is massive. We saw a fawn and doe wondering right outside the cabin. It was a beautiful sight to see. If you have kids my daughter found a good swinging vine by the teepee shelter. Oh and there was no WiFi BUT it's what my family needed. Hocking Hills area seemed to have spotty reception everywhere but I didn't mind. We had a good time and would rent here again in the future.
