I wanted to get away from everything and this place is perfect for that. The hosts were so welcoming and provided surprising amenities, wine, snacks, some can goods, coffee, and a bag of items you might have forgotten.

Dawn was MORE THAN AN OUTSTANDING GUEST! She Followed every Single House Rule, Was an Amazing Communicator- And Left Our Cabins in Fantastic Shape!! We , AS HOSTS WOULD WELCOME ( AND HOPE SHE COMES BACK) AND HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER TO STAY ANYWHERE OF HER CHOOSING!!!
A work trip brought me to the area and instead of staying in a hotel I found this place. I brought my dog and we really enjoyed the property. We walked trails that went into the woods and it was so peaceful and fantastic. I don't fish, but if you do the pond is stocked and great and right outside your front door. The cabins are small but have everything you'd need during your stay. The bed is FANTASTIC.
Overall, such a relaxing and peaceful stay on a beautiful property with very friendly and helpful hosts. Cannot recommend enough.

What a great place to go for peace and quiet! Tracy and Mike are the best hosts! They made sure I had everything I needed and was helpful with tips on where to go in the area. Anything I needed, they were right there eager to help! The bed was the most comfortable bed! Best sleep I ever had away from home. I was a woman that stayed alone and I felt completely safe and secure. I plan on returning with my husband one day!! Thanks Mike and Tracy for a fantastic weekend!!

Most awful experience totally uncalled for interaction with the host of this property, a complaint filed with VRBO on 6/26/22 and 6/25/22 and will never use vrbo again will also be letting family and friends know of this situation, and how this was all handled with vrbo supervisor that was barely understandable with heavy accent nor really tried to help us out when we were targeted with false claims made by this host of the above property id. and attitude from hell even told her this which she acknowledged !!!

Just for the record you wouldn't respond at all in any timely manner. You confirmed you read and agreed to all house rules including special requirements concerning your pet. You emailed some generic vet records instead of uploading it though the VRBO sight, however I uploaded it for you. I have the Video and Audio of your arrival as your dog jumps out of your car and runs off and then into the cabin. At that time Tracy brought to your attention your dog has to be leashed while outdoors and in your control. Then you made the comment you don't leash your dog nor crate her, both of which are required to stay at our AMAZING CABINS- You referred to as "shacks" - EVERYONE WILL READ ALL OUR 5 STAR REVIEWS ( But your Lonely1- because you Broke ALL House Rules, We have them all in place for ALL guests and the next guests Arriving right after you leave.. You Acknowledged You read them Several times and then Broke so so many of them right after checking in... So much So, That we had to call our Local Police We felt so threatened by your Threatening Language and Behaviors' ( It's ALL on Video with Audio) We must Always look out for the next guests so they are not going in and dealing with your dogs fleas or ticks from your dog running wild on the property, and then laying on the bed or other furniture. Much less taking a chance of having her chasing a deer off the side of the mountain and being unable to recover her, or she could have ran across other Big Dogs That Literally could Chew a Small dog in half. The rules we put in place are for the pets safety and the next guest staying after you..and you obviously have a total lack of concern for either..it's your way or no way, and that is why you were told to leave our property along with your smart mouth and attitude. Anyone reading your review can tell what your personality and character is made of.
We went to celebrate our belated anniversary and my partner’s birthday and wanted to be away from all the stress of the city and work and this was just the place. It was quiet and the weather was lovely during our stay. Plenty of hiking trails around the area and a short drive to Chattanooga, too, so plenty of things to do for everyone.
Owners of the property were very friendly and I loved getting to play with their sweet pups! The owners were also incredibly knowledgeable about their property and surrounding areas. We had access to fishing, got to see a variety of wildlife, as well as the pleasant surprise of realizing we were just up the road to South Pittsburg, TN, a place we had stumbled upon on a prior trip.
Overall it was a lovely trip and we certainly would like to come back!

Very beautiful property. Cabins were clean and well stocked with lots of little extras, like snacks and dishes. We really enjoyed the fire pit area and the small lake (which definitely has some fish in it). We will definitely be going back next time we get a chance.

It was a cozy place to enjoy some downtime and get away from the hustle bustle of every day life. There were trails, a lake to go fishing in, and a variety of wildlife.
The hosts were real friendly and willing to help you out in anyway they could to make your stay enjoyable. Everything you needed was available in the cabin, except food and clothing of course but shopping and restaurants were less than15 minutes away, Chattanooga was about 30 minutes away.

Great Guests! Left Everything Very Clean and were Super Friendly! They are Welcome back Anytime and Have our High Recommendations for Anywhere they Choose to Stay.
We have always been beachgoers but wanted to do something different and chose to visit Chattanooga, Ruby Falls, Rock City etc. but didn't want to stay in the "touristy" area. These private cabins were perfect for us. One cabin has a great king-sized bed that was so comfortable that we slept better than we did at home. The other cabin has a fully stocked kitchen and a large shower/bathroom area. We probably could have gotten away with not bringing half of what we did because they thought of everything. My favorite part was getting up early and sitting on the front porch, my cup of coffee in hand, overlooking the private lake and birdfeeders. It is a certified Wildlife Habitat. I felt like we had our own piece of heaven. I also enjoyed walking the trails on the property. We felt so safe, we never locked our cars or cabin doors. There are a lot of beautiful sights to see close by with the waters of Nickajack Lake and you're just a short distance from Chattanooga and other big attractions with a beautiful drive through the mountains. The hosts, Mike & Tracy, were very accommodating and available if you needed anything but not intrusive. We will definitely be back.

About the host

I am a Commercial Grading Contractor in the Chattanooga area but, originally from the mountain here. I grew up hunting and fishing all around this area and after getting the opportunity to buy this piece of an old farm that had been sub-divided we couldn't pass it up. We built the lake in 2005 and decided in 2009 to build a small house out here as our children where now out on their own.. we love it every day...
Why they chose this property
It became available for sale after 25 years.
What makes this property unique
I had a great pace to build a small fishing lake and lots of privacy.
