Lovely short break
The cottage was cosy, ideal for the 2 of us for 3 nights. Not a huge fan of Saxmundham, but loved Suffolk. Visited Orford, Rendlesham Forest, Aldeburgh - beautiful places.

A comfortable cottage
We enjoyed our stay in Saxmundham and found the cottage comfortable and generally well equipped (although there was no ice cube tray in the freezer). The location was very handy for the town with excellent restaurants and supermarkets. However, the description of the property obviously raised our expectations too high. Unfortunately, the courtyard in front of the cottage was largely filled with a substantial gazebo which obliterated any view and made access to the property difficult. Whilst we only met Tim twice, once on our arrival, he was very pleasant and the family was unobtrusive even though windows from the main house overlook the courtyard. It was obvious that the courtyard was used as a family space when guests were not in residence.

compact and clean cottage in Saxmundham
We enjoyed our stay in Stable Cottage for 3 nights recently which we booked at very short notice due to a change in plans. It is quiet and comfortable and well located being a relatively short drive to the sea. Tim and Lucy were very welcoming. We would definitely stay again should we be looking for a short break in Suffolk.

Cosy and contemporary cottage
Owners were very welcoming. Cottage was clean and had everything we needed. Lots of thought and attention to detail has gone into making this cottage a great place to stay. Location was ideal to tour the Suffolk coast and a short walk away from shops and Bell Inn - great food at reasonable prices, in Saxmundham.

This lovely 2 bedroom cottage is perfect for a romantic get away! It is perfectally located near the sea and within walking distance from some lovely restaurants, a nice pub and a fantastic fish a chip shop! I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone wanting a few days (or even a week away) and we will surely be returning at some point in the future!

Romantic Bolthole on the Suffolk Coast!
Lucy and Tim are incredible hosts and welcomed us with open arms. We had a wonderful stay here and didn't want to leave. We had cake, bread and milk left for us which was very welcome. They ensured that our stay was comfortable and for everything to help us find lifts to and from the Snape concert hall. I highly recommend this accommodation to anyone wanting to relax or work! It is simply fantastic! Can't fault or think of anything to improve!

Stable Cottage - pretty, compact and cosy with privacy.
Stable Cottage is a sweet little compact 1 bedroomed cottage. In my view, a better option than a hotel room of similar cost. Owners Tim and Lucy live in the attached larger property and are a delight. Welcoming and helpful. Private entry with a padlocked gate and if the weather is good a pretty courtyard to sit in offers space and privacy. Basically equipped kitchen, comfortable sitting room with a sofa, WIFI, TV and I-POD docking station mean that if you do want to relax, watch TV, film or listen to you own music you can. Good double bed and separate shower upstairs. Tim and Lucy are very responsive to problems and clearly want their guests to enjoy their stay. The cottage is in a great position. You can park outside or near the cottage. Restaurants, pubs, and shops all within very short walking distance. A good base for exploring as has already been extensively mentioned by others. We ate in the Bell one evening and the food was good quality, fresh and generous portions. Highly recommend! The Trinity cafe does good coffee and massive breakfasts if you need it. Loved it - and our feedback to the owners about minor,( but a bit inconvenient) and easily fixed things has already been dealt with. With these amendments I would increase my review to 5 stars.

Tim and Lucy were there to greet us when we arrived. Stable cottage is the perfect idyllic hideaway in a lovely part of the country. Clean, warm and cozy and a great place from which to explore. The cottage had everything we needed for a quiet getaway in the countryside and is well located to visit various places in Suffolk; we went to Snape Maltings, Orford and Aldeburgh all within10 minutes of Saxmundham. Highly recommended. Thanks Tim and Lucy

Beautiful cottage and perfect location.
We had a wonderful few days here. The cottage was beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean as well as warm and cosy. It was really well-equipped and the complimentary goody bag meant we had a very good start to our holiday. The cottage is in a perfect location for exploring Suffolk and surrounding area. All instructions and communications with Tim and Lucy were easy and straightforward. They were perfect hosts. Will definitely return.

Hello,

We are Tim and Lucy and we live on the stunning Suffolk Heritage Coast with our son Jack. We have been successfully letting our cottages: Stable cottage and Arwen cottage in Aldeburgh via our company Aldeburgh Seaside Cottages. Both our properties are self-catering and advertise on the VrBo website. We are thrilled to have met such interesting people and received such lovely feedback for it.

Tim was born and bred in beautiful Suffolk and I was born in Lima-Peru and brought up in Milan-Italy. I speak Spanish, Italian, French, German and English. As my husband’s family is from Suffolk we have strong ties with this beautiful part of the world. Having travelled extensively we have been inspired by the good things we have come across in properties we have stayed in. As you can tell, we are passionate about providing somewhere special that our guests will love, enjoy and return to.

We feel incredibly lucky to be able to live in this part of the world and are loving sharing our cottages with some amazing people from the Owners Direct community. If we had a motto to live by it would have to be Maya Angelou's: “My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humour and some style...”
