Funky and very rural setting outside of your typical redneck / hippie Oregon town. Lots of big trucks & trailers — and three bookstores and several good restaurants in the cute historic downtown of Cottage Grove. The yurt was very comfortable, just keep in mind you are in a farm.
Dans yurt was a unique experience! He was very helpful and communication was very easy. He was able to assist us with all our needs. The place itself is off the beaten path for sure and it was relaxing and peaceful. I was able to finish reading my book while there. All in all it was a cool experience and one I would recommend! Thanks Dan!
The host was very accommodating as I had a conflict with my booking date and he made quick changes to help my party out. We arrived to find a very well kept yurt which had all the amenities we needed. It was very clean and cozy and the host offered around the clock help if needed, but we didn't as it was very comfy.
We were unfortunately bummed as the sauna was out of comission due to the wildfires and just FYI, its out of comission during most of the summer months. We didn't know that and were obviously bummed, but also completely okay with that decision as we have to protect our beautiful forests.
Thanks host for the very relaxing time and allowing us on your property.

The yurt was comfortable, with a couch, table and chairs and the bed, dressers and a drying rack. They also had an A/C unit and a propane heater to use. The compost out house was clean and no oder, and very well constructed. They have a nice set up with coffee, different teas, sweeteners and creamers. There was a water station with a bowl for cleaning, and another for drinking water. We were very pleased with the yurt and enjoyed our stay. They are working on adding a "public" sink area at the building with the outdoor shower. The water was hot for showers and felt great after a day of being out and about. I would recommend staying here. Thank you!
Just what we were looking for on a busy weekend (Labor Day)
My partner had never stayed in a yurt, and was a bit aprehensive (she's fancier than me). But the yurt and surrounding property were great. We were able to book it at a reasonable rate when everything else was super expensive (Labor day weekend), the yurt was clean and comfortable, we got to go on some pretty hikes in the area, then relaxed in the sauna afterwards (which we had to ourselves). Like other reviews are saying, if you're looking for something fancier you might be disappointed. But this was just what we were looking for and we had a great stay
Very interesting. The yurt was very clean and well furnished. An unseasonable cold snap made late night use of the outhouse a bit uncomfortable and I didn't use the outside shower as I had other options. The location was convenient to the Cottage Grove Airport, which was where I spent most of my time. Dan was very accommodating and I found out we had a friend in common. I would consider staying there again.
We really enjoyed staying at Dan’s yurt this weekend while in town for a dog sport competition. The yurt was clean, with many thoughtful details such as coffee service and a little library. Dan was responsive and very pleasant- we met him and his very nice chocolate lab. He dropped off coffee supplies at our doorstep and checked to make sure the temperature in the yurt was comfortable when the outside temps dropped overnight. There’s something very peaceful about falling asleep to the many sounds of nature, and only those sounds. Recommend!
