Glorious view! Private well appointed home, really enjoyed the hot tub over looking the lake and the stone fire place. Would definitely book again with these gracious hosts!
The cottage was great. The stone fireplace was awesome and really enjoyed the hot tub too! The 1 acre dog run is amazing for guest with dogs!!! Red Wing is only 20 minutes away for shopping. Rob and Heather were very responsive and helpful.
What a fabulous place! It's a beautiful home with a spectacular view, what more could you want?! Also loved that it was dog friendly so our furry friends could be a part of our family adventure. We'll be back.
The best part of this cottage is the view of Lake Pepin and the hot tub. We watched eagles soar by the windows all weekend. The hot tub was wonderful and beds are comfortable! The kitchen is well stocked with every type of pot and pan and the tv works on every service. PLUS the fireplace is straight out of a movie. The host was so responsive and helpful. We were snowed in and he was accommodating and kind. I have already booked my return (as has one of my friends). I cannot wait to come back! A
This was probably the nicest VRBO we have rented and we have rented many! the place was immaculate and stunning and unique. the views were incredible. would love to come here again!!
Beautiful, large cabin overlooking Lake Pepin! Kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook for a group of 8 moms. Beds were super comfortable, but more open sleeping arrangements without a ton of privacy unless you were in the downstairs bedroom. Lots of towels, cleaning supplies. We did not use the hot tub, but great option for guests. Hope to stay again in the future!
We absolutely loved our experience at Lion Downe. Beds were comfortable. Kitchen well stocked. We especially loved the deck and view and hot tub. Loved loved loved this place.
I wish I could give more than 5 stars! Beautiful home and location. Had EVERYTHING we needed for our girls' weekend! It was below zero all weekend, and they even had a repair man out trying to fix the hot tub for us! We offered him hot beverages and warm soup, but he declined. ABOVE and BEYOND hosts. We would love to go again when it's warmer so we can explore the outdoors. Beds were very comfortable and the fire in the gorgeous stone fireplace was the best place to gather and laugh and just be together. Thank you, Rob and Heather for sharing your home and your flawless host skills.
Our favorite aspects: view of the lake, great deck and hot tub, lovely 3-season room on lowest level, spacious living/dining area for meals, board games, watching TV.
We had a great time. Nice property, cozy home, great views. Didn’t expect to hear so many trains passing by regularly. We had five in our family and three dogs. Home and property was perfect for having pets. High quality and durable home with a nice balance to enjoy the home and not worry about damaging something. Would definitely stay again.
Wow, what a great cottage. It was so charming, one of a kind with beautiful views. Each room was an experience and we didn’t want to leave. The hot tub and deck were highlights. We will definitely be returning!
This was our 2nd stay here. We love it! My gal and pals and I are planning to try to make it here for an extended weekend every year or every other year. We always look forward to soaking in the hot tub and watching the eagles in the morning and we weren't disappointed. We were able to watch the Brewers and Packers games as well. We love the big tables so we can gather and play games. The beds are so comfortable as well.
Absolutely a wonderful stay in Maiden Rock. Gorgeous secluded property. Peaceful. The place has so many features to enjoy we are planning another trip! Thank you to the hosts!! We appreciate you sharing your home.

I someday hope to retire at Lion Downe Cottage with my wonderful wife, Heather. In the mean time we both work in the Twin Cities and get down to visit as often as possible with our family.
Why they chose this property
We chose to purchase Lion Downe Cottage as it is very close to the Twin Cities, has wonderful quaint towns nearby, great wildlife, fantastic restaurants, countless festivals, and is still one of the best kept secrets for a vacation!
