About this property
Cottage on Historic Gentleman's Farm
Located in the heart of Historic Chester County, few locations in the United States offer so many things to see and do. Some of the loveliest creations of man or nature are nearby. The cottage is on a 70 acre country estate (circa. 1797) with fields & trails, surrounded by over 2000 acres of private land. An Indian tribe once lived on the property with lingering evidence where they chipped their flint tools and arrowheads. Nearby is gourmet dining, tennis and historic sites within walking or bicycle distance. In the late 1990s, Chester County was listed as one of the top ten counties in which to live, owing to its beauty, historic significance and the general sophistication of its inhabitants. Horse-carriages and hot air balloons are just a few of the common sights. The Cottage is located on a private lane, just off a quiet, picturesque country road that is a favorite of bicyclists, joggers and equestrians. The farm, its history and surroundings were the subject of Edwin A. Peeples’ Walden-like memoir PLANTING AN INHERITANCE, LIFE ON A PENNSYLVANIA FARM

Comfortable, adequately appointed, clean and quiet enough. Best aspect is location - centrally located amidst a beautiful rural landscape full of history and well preserved architecture.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cozy cottage. The historic and beautiful property was an added plus. Had everything we needed and was very conveniently located to our old neighborhood and friends we were visiting. We will definitely be back!
Beautiful location!! Quiet, peaceful! Property was clean and very comfortable. A little deferred maintenance needed. Host very friendly and responsive. Overall very nice. Will definitely stay there again.
I stayed on one of their properties while I ventured to various historical sites in the area. It was a peaceful beautiful place to stay with a neat history.
We enjoyed the quiet, cozy setting of the cottage & the convenience of being close to family in Phoenixville. Chris was a great host! We walked the grassy areas & along the quiet roads, respite from the busy main roads just a few miles away. It’s a quaint escape.
The property was as advertised. We loved the historical aspect of the cottage and the privacy. We did have a problem with the well. The owner was very responsive and accomodating to the situation.
We had a great visit at The Cottage. It was clean and comfortable. The cottage had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the screened in porch and spent most of our time there. There were plenty of places on the property to walk our dogs. Don’t hesitate to book this unique cottage. It is truly a peaceful gem in beautiful Chester Springs
A quaint get-away in the heart of horse country. Our host , Chris, had everything we could need and was flexible with our schedule and communicative. He provided great books explaining the history of the estate, and a very helpful list of nearby attractions. We were too busy with our itinerary to explore the grounds, so there will have to be a next time.
My husband & I enjoyed our stay. It was the 2nd time we stayed here. The cabin was clean & comfortable. Our 2 dogs had a great time running in the fields. The property & area is beautiful! We highly recommend!!!
Thank you so much for cleaning and leaving the cottage clean with laundry washed and neatly folded. I'd injured my arm, so I was immensely pleased with a shortened "punch list". I never did hear whether you successfully decommissioned the swarm of flying ants on the porch. I didn't see any so maybe they did their thing and left. Thanks again and visit any time.
