Crete Villa

The villa was fantastic and in an excellent location to explore the beauty of Crete. The local village has surprising restaurants and the near by town of Rethymno is amazing day and night. The villa was wonderfully clean and Joanna an excellent host. We would highly recommend staying here!

Wonderful location in a quiet and pleasant part of the island. Joanna was great with her communication and hospitality. The villa is clean and tidy with plenty of equipment needed for a stay. There are plenty of beach options nearby and the city is easy to reach where there are plenty of restaurants to choose from. The pool at the villa is lovely, private and clean. The equipment provided around the pool is great quality. The beds are comfortable and the bedrooms have great views down to the sea. The kitchen has plenty of equipment that is needed for a stay and the living area is nicely laid out. Outside there are plenty of places to sit and eat and a garden to explore. Highly recommended for those who want to get away from it all, but want to be close enough to civilisation when needed.

Friends explore Greece

This is a great home for a family or group of friends. The view from the pool and terrace is exceptional and the local town has some really great restaurants. It is a beautiful home, well located to explore this great island!! I can't say enough about Joanna, her communication with us was exceptional. She gave us great recommendations and was kind enough to leave us supper for our late arrival. We were so lucky to have met her as well. I will be back :)

Joanna is a very welcoming and incredibly helpful host. Our flight was delayed and we had problems with our hire car booking with Europcar - they wouldnt allow us to move it to the following day, so we had to cancel or incur the full cost as a no- show fee.I texted Joanna from Manchester airport asking for taxi and car hire recommendations. Within 20mins Joanna had arranged a minibus to pick us up from the airport at midnight and a hire car to be delivered to the villa the next day. When we arrived at the villa, Joanna had also left some food in the fridge for us.The villa was beautiful, very clean and had stunning views. We had a fabulous holiday - thank you Joanna.

The property did not have air conditioning, the standing temperature inside was 24c-26c. One room had a fan which was poor, we gave that to the children. 2 rooms had a dehumidifier which did nothing for the temperature. The property claims to be “eco” cooled, however my home in England was the same temperature indoors. It doesn’t work. If you have young children or suffer in the heat do not stay here as rooms are not cooled. The pool on arrival had green algae around the outside. The host then left a note blaming us and our “oily suncream”, and asked us to not wear it whilst in the pool. This seemed very odd as if we didn’t wear suncream in the pool - especially with small children, we would burn. The host turned up twice, and it was uncomfortable. The cleaners did not clean the premises they just changed the bedding and towels, we did not know which days they were coming which felt intrusive. The beds were small, and uncomfortable. The property itself was beautiful and the layout, the views and the set up was ideal, however for the amount we paid to stay here we are very disappointed we slept uncomfortably for two weeks. Luckily we did not let it ruin our holiday, as Crete is wonderful and we went out most days. I would highly recommend Crete. It is a shame as this could have been amazing but falsely advertised as air conditioned when not, and not kept well. On a funny note some goats managed to get into the property which was funny!

We are very surprised by this review, as it does not reflect reality. We would like to clarify a few facts: Cooling System: Our stone villa has cooling pumps into floors and walls and features a central AC, maintaining a very comfortable temperature. The guest never reported any discomfort, messaged us that everything was "great and lovely," and confirmed this in person. Pool Care: We delivered a crystal-clear pool. However, our maintenance technician noted that an excessive amount of tanning oil was used during this stay, and our polite recommendations regarding this were completely ignored. Privacy & Housekeeping: We never visit without notice. The guest was fully informed as both visit and cleaning schedule were pre-arranged via messages. On cleaning day, the floors were so cluttered with personal items that a thorough clean was impossible, so staff only changed linens and towels to avoid disturbing their things. Beds & Property: Our beds follow standard commercial dimensions with premium mattresses over 25cm thick, with zero complaints in 10 years. Upon check-out, the house and pool were left in a condition that did not reflect the hospitality shown. The positive feedback during the stay completely contradicts this public review. While we welcome honest feedback, we cannot accept claims that distort reality. This is incompatible with the principles of hospitality. Even the mention of goats is inaccurate as our secure perimeter gating completely prevents external animals from entering.

Heerlijk!!

Lovely Villa set in the hills. Ideal for a quiet family holiday.

Aeolus is a very well equipped villa, with great views overlooking the northern coast. It was quiet and relaxing nestled into the hills, yet in striking distance of the south of the island and the west. The swimming pool was well cared for and very clean. Joanna and he dad could not have been more welcoming.
