One of the things our guests remember most about New Moon is the genuine Balinese hospitality they receive. Wayan, our wonderful villa manager, and her team will make you feel at home from the moment you arrive. Whether it's preparing your freshly cooked breakfast, arranging an in-villa massage, private yoga session or helping organise a romantic surprise, nothing is ever too much trouble.

If you're celebrating a birthday, anniversary, honeymoon or another special occasion, Wayan can also create a beautiful flower pool to make your stay even more memorable.

Your Villa

Inspired by traditional Balinese architecture, New Moon blends open-plan tropical living with modern comforts. Soft natural colours, light timber and beautiful high alang-alang ceilings create a welcoming space throughout.

The spacious open-plan living area includes a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable seating and a large dining table, offering a versatile space to relax, dine or even catch up on a little work. Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi is available throughout the villa, making it easy to stay connected.

The villa sleeps up to four guests in two spacious air-conditioned bedrooms, each with a king-size four-poster bed and its own private bathroom.

The upstairs bedroom opens onto a private balcony with beautiful views across the surrounding rice fields. The downstairs bedroom opens directly onto the pool deck and features an open-air bathroom with a terrazzo bathtub.

For families or larger groups, a comfortable single sofa bed or airbed can be provided for an additional guest. We can also accommodate one young child under 150 cm free of charge on a small sofa bed in the downstairs bedroom.

Pool & Outdoor Living

At the heart of the villa is a private 7 metre swimming pool overlooking the surrounding rice fields, creating the perfect place to relax throughout the day.

Enjoy breakfast on your terrace each morning, unwind with a book or enjoy a spot of yoga in the shaded sala, cool off with a swim or simply soak up the surroundings.

With several outdoor seating areas to choose from, there's always a perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee, an afternoon swim or dinner beneath the stars.

Explore Bali

Whether you're visiting Bali for the first time or returning to one of your favourite places, New Moon is the perfect base from which to experience the island.

Complimentary pick-up is included from the airport and most areas of Bali. During your journey to the villa, our trusted local driver Putu is always happy to answer questions, share local knowledge and help you plan your time in Bali.

Many guests choose to explore the island with Putu. Friendly, knowledgeable and full of stories about Balinese life and culture, he'll help you discover beautiful temples, hidden waterfalls and local restaurants that many visitors would otherwise miss. Whether it's stopping to try local fruit from a roadside stall or sharing his favourite recommendations, Putu loves helping guests experience the real Bali.

Location

Located in the traditional village of Lodtunduh, around 3 km south of central Ubud, New Moon is an ideal base from which to discover Ubud and the surrounding area. Spend the day exploring Ubud's cafés, markets, temples and vibrant atmosphere before returning to the peace and privacy of your villa.

Several local cafés and restaurants are also within walking distance.

Guest Access

Guests have exclusive use of the entire villa, private pool and all outdoor living spaces throughout their stay. New Moon also includes a dedicated private parking space and is one of just ten private villas within Desa Bulan ("Moon Village"), a peaceful boutique villa community nestled among the rice fields.

Other details to note

New Moon is designed as an indoor/outdoor tropical living experience. Surrounded by nature, you'll enjoy visits from ducks and geckos, while frogs and the occasional early morning rooster provide the soundtrack to village life. It's all part of the unique charm of experiencing authentic Bali beside the rice fields.
