Pet Friendly, Quiet Neighborhood, Golf Course Views, Double Decks
The House
It is located on “The Peaceful Side of the Smokies” in Townsend, TN. You can enjoy all the beauty the Great Smoky National park has to offer without having to deal with the hustle and bustle of a busy tourist town. This cute mountain home still has some of the style and touch from the original owners of almost 50 yrs, but with some significant recent updates for the style and comfort we all need to enjoy life in the 21st century. We, Jake and Annie, recently bought this little piece of Jake’s hometown as a place to escape our primary city life in the Washington, DC area and spend more time with our parents who live five minutes away. We spend a lot of time repairing, and upgrading the house to bring it up to the standards of comfort we all expect from a vacation home, while maintaining the cozy feel of living in the East TN mountains. We got new comfortable beds that we tested them out ourselves. We like to have a good night of sleep there.
What we love about the house:
The scenic drive from the gate to the house through the hills of the golf course. Good walking routes with spectacular views of the Wild Valley Golf Course and the Great Smoky Mountains. It’s in a super quiet dead end street with mostly year round retirees surrounding us. The driveway can fit 3-4 cars. Double decks front and back for both sunrise and sunset exposure. Full morning sunrises over the mountains from the upper front porch once the leaves drop in late fall and winter months makes for the perfect morning coffee. Views of the 14th hole of the Wild Valley Golf Course and the hills and mountains from the backyard allows for an entertaining and relaxing time as the golf carts drive by. Grilling and dining on the upper back deck with tiki torches to help keep the TN mosquitos away can lead to a perfect night under the endless stars. The covered porch swing on the lower back deck allows for a serene place for a couple to sit and watch a calming mountain shower try to break through the shaded backyard. 1st floor: Queen size master suite with an ensuite large bathroom, private entrance to the back deck, and cozy living room of new furniture and new smart TV. 2nd floor: Queen size 2nd bedroom that will bring back childhood memories for many guests, 2nd full bathroom, second living/sitting room that will make every golfer feel at home, a full size pullout bed, and a candlelit fireplace that won’t bring you warmth but will invoke that mountain home atmosphere. With open design kitchen and dining areas and ample natural light form the many windows this two bedroom two bath feels anything but cramped. A few minute drive to the Wild Valley Golf Course clubhouse to enjoy the only full bar in Townsend, TN. The long wooden bar and outdoor balcony seating that overlooks the 18th hole and the mountains offers a great craft beer and whisky selection that is only beat by the views. Being located in an active bear habitat means you can often see many wild animals around Laurel Valley but with just a few smart precautions not risk any danger to yourself or your loved ones.

We had a great stay at Pawsome Cabin. The hosts provided detailed check-in and check-out information, the location was great, everything was clean and well-stocked. Exceeded expectations.
The house is adorable and in a lovely safe neighborhood close to Cades Cove/Smoky Mtn National Park & a variety of activities. Our family of 5 were very comfortable. We had dinner on the back deck off the kitchen every night & on our second night had the delight of watching a black bear walk between the homes!

Thank you Jessica! We'll hope to see you again in the future.
The property was as advertised. We got in a round of golf and stopped by the cabin for a snack. The course was beautiful even in winter. We brought our pups and we were all comfortable. Easy in and easy out. Would stay again for sure.
Pawsome Cabin is a great 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom rental in Laurel Valley. It was clean and the description was very accurate. Both queen beds have adjustable bases which was nice. There is no dishwasher...that wasn't too much of an issue since we ate out half the time. The decks and outdoor areas are very nice. It's also a pet friendly rental which was important to us because our dog always comes with us. We saw bears right near the gate area on 2 occasions so it is an active bear area. There is a bedroom, bathroom and living room area on the first floor and a bedroom, bathroom, sitting area, dining area, and kitchen on the second floor. We have teens so it was nice for them (and us) to have one level for themselves. We enjoyed our stay and would love to go back!
My sister and I booked this home for a weekend getaway to enjoy the fall foliage and check out Townsend and Gatlinburg. This home was definitely spacious for just the two of us both getting our own bedrooms and bathrooms, but could have easily fit 2 per room and there was a sleeper couch. The home was very easy to find by using maps, but there are also detailed instructions provided by the host. The home had everything we needed and more. The kitchen was fully equipped, ice trays full, heat on upon arrival and spotless. The house backs up to the 14th hole at the golf course, so it was very quiet and was nice to enjoy a cup of coffee or dinner either of the back decks. The house was also just a short 25 minutes or so into downtown Gatlinburg, which was nice to not be in the thick of the weekend traffic.
Annie was so easy to get ahold of and very kind, which is always a plus to have such a helpful host. We cannot wait to return for another Fall getaway. Thank you!!
We enjoyed our stay as this property is located in our favorite area. The space makes more sense for two couples rather than one because of the set up. Great location for a home base to avoid the crowds.
Clean and comfortable house on a tree-covered lot. Great upper and lower level decks perfect for peaceful afternoons. The leaves were falling around us, birds and squirrels were in the trees. Wonderful time to re-energize after a few tense months.
We wanted to rent in Townsend so we would be close to Cade’s cove. It was perfect! We enjoyed the cabin and the neighborhood. Would definitely come again!!
Nice location, safe neighborhood. Awesome back deck !!

About the host

Hi! I live in Washington DC with my husband Jake and our rescued dog, Lincoln. Jake and I met playing poker. We also love the woods, the mountain and camping. It's my oasis from the busy life of the city. I am also a plant hobbyist with over 300 of house plants.
Why they chose this property
I fell in love with the drive when you turned onto Laurel Valley Rd to the cabin. I was imagining myself riding the bike down that road. It was a feeling of being in heaven.
What makes this property unique
We toured the property during our Thanksgiving visit and the view of the mountain from the front porch was just breath taking. I love the morning sun and it showers the front porches. Then we walked to the backyard, the view of the golf course was so mesmerizing. I can go on and on but please experience it for yourself.
