My husband and I enjoyed our stay here. The unit is very clean, modern, and spacious. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. We would definitely come back!
The Sanctuary Lodge is a lovely and private property. I appreciated the quiet and lush, green spaces. The rental is extremely clean and spacious. Sam is a wonderful host. I hope to return in the autumn.

The Sanctuary Lodge
Wonderful property if you are looking for quiet tranquility. Maybe not so quiet when all of the wonderful birds are singing!
Turkeys and deer hang out while you enjoy an evening cocktail on your balcony.
Great place to spend some time away from it all!
The unit was very clean and had everything we needed. For us, no TV and poor cell phone signal was a plus - we were there to get away and enjoy nature! We really enjoyed walking the property and also exploring nearby areas like Tuttle Marsh and Tawas Point. Seeing the Milky Way from our balcony was a treat, as well. We will be back!
Our suite was all-new, modern, spacious and meticulously clean. It was well decorated and esthetically pleasing. The grounds are beautiful with a stream running through, and we saw deer up close, and sandhill cranes, turkeys, a hawk and more right there!
Very quiet and peaceful place, and Sam was very friendly and helpful. He is also very knowledgable about flora and fauna.
We plan to go back!

We had a wonderful time and this property was beautiful! Warning, there is no TV and the internet/cell phone service was spotty at times. Neither of those things took away from our stay, would definitely recommend staying here. Sam was most helpful and available with questions.
Staying here was nothing short of perfect. Everything is the same in person as it is in pictures. There is a dam on the property and it provides a wonderful white noise if you leave the windows open at night. Sam was very vigilant when it came to making sure everything was set up for us. Me and my fiancé stayed in unit 3 and it was absolutely wonderful. The kitchen was fully stocked, the bathroom was very clean, and the furniture was all modern and very cozy. The only thing that was a hassle for us was our mobile service provider because on the coverage map it said we would have service, but we weren't able to connect at all! For anyone worried about bugs- we didn't find any. This property is a bird sanctuary and it is important to know this going into it because we saw wild turkeys on the road leading up to the lodge and it was quite a show. Overall, we had a wonderful time and I am definitely looking forward to staying here in the future!

Thank you, Katie, for your review. We are working on a solution to get WIFI to the lodge. At the moment, there are only bad choice but we hope this will change in the near future. We hope to see you, again. Best wishes

The Sanctuary Lodge
The Sanctuary Lodge allows you to be immersed in nature, with its lush natural landscape, birds everywhere you look, and the faint sounds of water from the nearby dam. The 1 bedroom apartment we stayed in was super clean, comfortable, modern and spacious - the perfect place to come back to after a day of hiking around the Huron Manistee forests or kayaking down the Au Sable River. We had a great time and hope to come back in the future.
