The location was great, but that is about where the strengths ended. The pictures showed an outdoor kitchen with a blackstone and sink. The blackstone was rusted and could not be started and there was no water in the “kitchen”. Thankfully there WAS another grill for all guests to share. The unit was fine, small, but that was expected. The water pressure was terrible and there were stains in the shower. One review noted that the second bed was not comfortable and we had the same experience. It was so bad that I had to purchase a mattress pad/foam pad so my daughter could sleep. The surrounding deck had exposed/raised nails and some broken and rotting wood. But the worst and most frustrating was the issue of ants. We kept food put away, dishes washed and trash removed, but the ants were a real problem. Floors, counters, walls, it was bad. We live in Texas and understand that bugs are a thing, but I did not expect to wake up to ants on me in the bed (as did my daughter), ants in the bathroom, on clothes, etc. The pictures in the listing are clearly a few years old. The Cottage definitely needs work and an exterminator and regular pest maintenance.
