About this property
Hanami Place - Kandos - Unwind & Relax
THE PROPERTY Hanami Place is a spacious and unique 1930s home surrounded by beautiful established gardens. With lots of nooks and places to relax in or explore, the house is perfect for small or larger groups of people, or a family stay. The house is on a large corner block (2000sqm) and is very private from both the street and neighbours.
The four-bedroom house has three queen bedrooms all with unique styling. A fourth double bedroom has a view to the local mountain range. You will sleep well here, guests have commented the evenings are quiet and peaceful!
The large eat-in kitchen is adjacent to a north-facing sun-drenched sunroom - perfect for the colder months. The living room is spatially very generous, allowing ample space for, relaxing on the couch, hanging out by the fireplace or gathering around the dining table next a bay window looking over the front garden. For people with a yoga or other movement practice, the room can accommodate a few people at a time. The combustion wood fireplace brings atmosphere and warmth on colder days. The 1950s era-designed ‘pink’ bathroom has a separate shower and bath. A second toilet in the laundry is easily accessed from the kitchen.
Outside, the front and north side features a sun-filled verandah. A huge tiled east & west facing undercover back porch boasts a view of the back garden and views of the mountains - a perfect spot for outdoor eating or simply enjoying the garden and local birdlife . The large front and back yards have established gardens with figs, olives, lavender and many other plants including a large native garden.
Undercover parking is ample with 2 large double carports. The second carport is essentially not needed and could be used as space to create or for other sun-protected outdoor activities.
GUEST ACCESS A welcome pack will be shared when you have booked by the host. An easy to access lockbox allows self checkin. The host (Robyn) is contactable via phone if you have any questions.
LOCAL AREA Kandos is an unassuming town with a rich history. Visit the local museum to find out more about the Cement industry that was the reason for the town to be founded and enjoy contemporary art at the WAYOUT Artspace located on the main street, close to the IGA which has a great variety of food options.
Nearby you can visit De Beaurepaire Winery, which is located on the limestone needed for the locally grown traditional french wine varieties on offer. Mudgee (famous for it's many wineries) is a 45min drive, and Bathurst and Lithgow just over one hour away.
Kandos is a perfect location for lovers of nature and wildlife - Ganguddy/Dunns Swamp is a 30min drive where you can immerse yourself in nature, enjoy bushwalking, or swim in the cool waters. The local area boasts over 107 bird species and keep your eye out for echidnas, kangaroos, and other animals. Other local bush walks are aplenty, and the bike path to Historic Rylstone offers really enjoyable ride for a coffee or lunch in Kandos' 'sister' town.

Really enjoyed staying at Hanami Place. Great location, very clean, and thoughtfully set up. The bed and pillows were super comfortable, which made a big difference. The kitchen has everything you need—even seasonings—which was such a nice touch. Made cooking super easy. Would happily come back! Thanks!
Hanami Place is a beautiful home with a lot of character. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

Thank you! It was a pleasure to have your group stay and so glad you enjoyed the unique character of this beautiful house and garden. I hope you had the chance to harvest some olives as well 😊
An exceptional dwelling that provides a place to create or unwind after a day of steady exploration in an area full of natural attractions such as Dunn's Swamp/Ganguddy and Ferntree Gully. The house is decorated with artworks throughout, the kitchen has all the appliances you need along with a well stocked pantry and the main living area with its large wooden table is just perfect for jigsaw puzzles and other games. Gardens surrounding the property have an interesting blend of plants & trees and are popular with visiting birds and resident lizards. The information provided by the host was accurate and it was clear that she places great trust in the temporary tenants to respect the property. Would definitely stay here again should we plan another visit to this part of New South Wales.
Hanami place was a lovely place to stay overnight. We were in Rylstone for the annual Mini classic. Plenty of room for the cars under the carport and the house was nice and toasty once we got the fire and heaters going. Robyn was fantastic with communicating prior to and during our stay. Thanks so much
A great base to explore the area. Nice walk to IGA. Fireplace supplies were great and kept us cozy on the first weekend of winter. Lots of spaces for everyone
We had an amazing weekend at Hanami Place celebrating my father's 70th birthday! The house is beautifully decorated and well kept, comfortable and cosy. It was the perfect location to explore Lake Windamere and other places nearby. Robyn was an excellent host, made sure we had everything we needed and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely stay again!

It was a pleasure to have you stay and I'm very happy you helped yourselves to the olives. Thanks for your review, I'm so pleased it was the perfect place to celebrate your Dad's 70th birthday!
Cute and quaint place that has everything you need. Comfy beds and lounge chairs, great fireplace. A curtain or blind in the extra toilet (in the laundry) would provide more privacy.
Gorgeous and unique dwelling, loved the eclecticism. Cosy and comfortable large bedrooms with stunning views. Thank you to the host for your warm correspondence and accommodation.
