About the host
Hosted by Anton Baser
I grew up in the Ottawa area and the Beacon has been a family getaway since 1975. It was rebuilt as a log house in 1993 by my family. It's now being enjoyed by 3 generations and we want others to experience the place when we aren't there. We hope you'll love it as much as we do!
Why they chose this property
The area has a lot of historic significance to the indegeneous peoples and for the early settlers who use it for logging and transportation. The area is very quiet with half the lake being owned and untouched by Hydro Quebec. The other half has a few cottages and a large section owned by the Tim Horton's Foundation. We are biased but firmly believe we have the best location on Pontiac Bay!
