About this space

Escape reality on your own one acre private island in one of the most popular spots on Flathead Lake. With almost 1000 ft of water frontage & a private dock, Emerald Island is named after the stunning color and clarity of the water that surrounds it. Enjoy swimming, kayaking, paddle-boarding, fishing & so much more just steps away from the house that has unmatched views of the lake. Look up & you may spot the bald eagle that lives next door. This unique getaway is sure to reboot & recharge you!


This island home has two levels and features 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 half baths, an outdoor shower, huge deck and a cabana grill/bar. Every bedroom has direct access to outdoors.   The house is suited to accommodate families but intimate enough for couples with a dog or two.  You’ll be pleasantly surprised to know that this house is also wheelchair-friendly, though not ADA compliant.   The upper level features floor-to-ceiling windows that capture stunning views of the lake.   The living room has a wood-burning fireplace and ambient lighting to keep you cozy.   Steps away is a full kitchen with all the basics to whip up home-cooked meals.   Have your meal in the dining area with views or on the patio surrounded by the sights and sounds of lake life.

Wake up to the sound of waves gently lapping against the rocks. Head out to the expansive back deck and enjoy the water views that sparkle during sunrise and sunset.   Grill some steak and serve up the drinks at the cabana bar. Throw on the swimsuit as swimming, fishing, sunbathing, kayaking, paddle boarding and boating are all available right off the dock.   Nap, stargaze or soak in the serenity of the lake from the hammock. Go for a refreshing rinse in the outdoor shower or end the day with a relaxing time around the fire pit.

We’ve added something truly special to your island escape: a beautifully crafted viewing tower with 360-degree views of the sparkling lake and surrounding mountains. Climb to the top for a peaceful sunrise, a private sunset moment or lose yourself in a good book from the cozy reading nook nestled inside.

Aside from the water toys, your stay also includes the use of a 14 ft aluminum boat with electric motor for those short trips to shore. We’ll show you where to dock this boat while you’re onshore.

We will shuttle you in our tritoon on check-in and check-out but you’re also welcome to bring your boat.  There is plenty of public parking onshore for your vehicles.  
 
This island is dog friendly up to a maximum of two and they need to be pre-approved by the host.

For those who want to take longer boat rides out on the lake, there's a boat that is available to rent (message host for details).

Eric has done an amazing job building this place. My family and I enjoyed ourselves. The views are spectacular. And we used every activity there was to offer. We’d stay here again if the opportunity is there. If you have a chance to book this place, just do it. No regrets here

Great Family Vacation on Emerald Island

The property was amazing. The fishing was incredible. The host was awesome. Our granddaughter loved the dock with the waterslide and the trips around the island on the kayaks and paddle boards. We spent time on the lake every day fishing. This is a fantastic vacation spot for the family.

Emerald Island adventure.

Fabulous stay at a magnificent property. Spectacular views, amazing lake. Eric was a fabulous host. The home was so well appointed and comfortable. Living on the island was such a fun experience. Will def go back! Thank you also to Jeremy for the boat rental and great customer service.

Perfect Island Getaway – Peaceful, Beautiful, and Well-Hosted!

We absolutely loved our stay on Emerald Island! The place was clean, comfortable, and perfectly equipped for a relaxing getaway. Being surrounded by the lake gave us that secluded, peaceful vibe we were hoping for, but we were still close enough to enjoy everything the area has to offer.The hosts were amazing – thoughtful, responsive, and genuinely kind people. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. You can tell they truly care about the experience their guests have.From morning coffee with stunning views to evenings around the firepit, it was a stay to remember. Highly recommend this little slice of Montana paradise – we’ll definitely be back!

A unique experience

We all loved being on an island all by ourselves. For us the highlight was the fabulous, spacious deck where we could hang out, eat our meals, read, play corn hole, watch the osprey and eagles, enjoy the sunsets, and remove ourselves from our every day world.

Beautiful views!

The views are spectacular! When you first walk into the house, the view from the living area is breathtaking. And then you go into the main floor bedroom and it equally as beautiful. And the deck is huge! Fire pit, hot tub, water toys and relaxing-the island lacks for nothing! Check-in was super easy. Eric met us at the dock at the arranged time and gave a great tour of the home and it’s amenities. We only needed to contact him once with a question and he responded quickly. He also provided great recommendations for fishing charters and pontoon rentals. The kitchen is well stocked. We only used the main floor bedroom and the bed and pillows are very comfortable. And our dog loved it!

Fantastic family time

Host were excellent. They met us and ferried us over on their boat. The islands views were stunning. Especially from the new trex deck. And the jacuzzi. We loved using the paddle boards and kayasks. We brought our own boat and launch ramp was close and convenient as well as parking.

We took our management team on a 2 night retreat. This property was more beautiful than the pictures could provide. We had an amazing stay. Eric was awesome to work with and was very hospitable. We will definitely be back!

Wedding Weekend Happiness

I had my wedding in October and rented the island house for multiple events during the wedding week. We had my bachelorette party out there and us ladies got ready on wedding day. My husband and I spent our first night there and loved waking up to the absolutely stunning views! It was a super unique/private location for a bachelorette party. The large windows made it more than perfect for getting ready on wedding day. If you are looking for a gorgeous and unique location for your wedding or wedding festivities in MT, I would recommend this property- 110%. The pictures you'll get for your special day and events are stunning... plus you get the sunrise and sunset. The boat rides back and forth are only about 2-3 mins each way from the shore and are relaxing and fun. Ben was an awesome boat driver! I would really look no further for your MT wedding week/day venue! ~Kiera

Beautiful island, great service

Overall, the stay was wonderful and property management was very responsive to our needs. The electric boat to get to and from the island had been damaged by the previous guest and they had a replacement boat available to us immediately. The property manager also was flexible with our check-in/out needs and shuttled us to/from as needed and helped us load unload items (and happily made multiple trips). We also met the owner who is also very nice (provided the replacement boat and picked up our last guest when we discovered the original boat was out of service). I would recommend this stay/property management to others.

Amazing Experience, Great Home, Private Island

Simply paradise. Seriously thought this was too good to be true when we booked - but it was even more amazing when we arrived! Actually even before. Both the Owner, Eric and Manager, Ben, reached out via message and voicemail to confirm and answer all questions. Since the property is on its' own island (which I can't over emphasize how cool this is!) Ben met us with his boat and helped load and unload all our items. Explained everything - showed us where all the toys were - yes, the island comes with paddleboards, a small boat, and kayaks!!! It was seriously heaven! The home is perfect - clean, modern, and remodeled, great indoor and outdoor spaces to hang out as a family. We had our dogs with us and loved that we could basically open the door and let them cruise the island. During our stay, Ben arranged a pontoon boat rental for us and gave us the inside scoop on where to go. It was our first time on Flathead Lake and we will be back for sure, it was seriously paradise.

Wow!!!

We had a perfect family vacation at Emerald Island. Ben was so easy to communicate with and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. The recently renovated house is great for a family. Due to COVID, we wanted to get away from everything, and Emerald Island was just that! A few highlights: grilling, picnic-ing on the dock, and renting Ben's pontoon boat for sunset cruises. We highly, highly recommend this property, and I know we will be back in the future!

Unique setting for an incredible getaway

Our family stayed 5 nights at this island home and had an amazing time. We wish we could have stayed longer! The location is incredible. The home and surrounding property have stunning views of the lake and mountains. Staying on our own island was a very special experience. The rental includes stand up paddleboards, kayaks, and a small electric boat to go to and from shore. The kids loved being able to go right out to the dock in the morning and choose which water toy to use. They also loved jumping and diving off the dock and swimming in an area that’s nicely protected from the wind that comes up in the afternoons. We were also able to rent a pontoon boat one day to explore the lake and go tubing which was very fun. We caught several fish right off the rocks around the island. We spent the days outside and the evenings enjoying the view from the covered deck. The home has recently been renovated and is nice and clean. The beds are brand new and extremely comfortable. The bathrooms are also new and are beautiful and very clean. The outdoor shower with hot water was a hit with the kids. There are futons on the main living area that aren’t the most comfortable seating but we didn’t mind much since wanted to be outside as much as possible. This home has just started to be rented and I believe the owner and manager will be replacing the futons and finishing upgrades throughout the house and property. The upstairs gets a little hot when the sun is shining through the windows in the morning but the AC unit in that room helps, and by afternoon it’s much cooler. The bedrooms stay cool at night. Overall we had an exceptional experience and hope to come back. The property manager and owner were very responsive and easy to communicate and work with. The manager went out of his way to make sure our trip was as smooth and enjoyable as possible. We highly recommend staying at this property for an unforgettable trip!

Eric lives locally and has enjoyed planning and turning this 1960s property into what it is today. He has projects lined up year after year. Our repeat guests are often amazed at the transformation.

Emerald island is one of the cluster islands nestled at the northern point of Flathead Lake in Montana. It sits in Somers Bay that gets partial protection from strong winds and waves. We love the sense of community here and are happy to support local business in the area. Somers is a quaint town and home to many who enjoy the beauty of this place all year round.

What's amazing about Emerald Island is the views that people have to see to believe. We kept the natural look of the island which gives the feeling of being close to nature. We provided numerous amenities that normally take guests more than a week to get tired of.
