Ideal, comfortable base for exploring the area
We received a very warm welcome from the owner to this spotlessly clean, comfortable and spacious apartment. The description and photos give a good impression of what to expect and make it easy to find when you arrive. There is plenty of helpful tourist information provided and the property is very well-equipped. Muhlbach is an attractive, flower filled village with an alpine feel and is an especially good base if you like walking, with many varied walks starting from the village. The bakery/grocers is a five minute walk at most so there is no shortage of croissants or pains chocolats for breakfast! There are easily accessible large supermarkets on the far side of Munster and a good range of places of to eat in the town, and for a leisurely visit, it's possible to walk there on the cycle route away from the main road, with the added bonus of spotting storks foraging in the fields. Any of the villages on the wine route are worth visiting for their beautiful architecture and the tourist offices often have leaflets outlining town walks to help you understand what you are looking at. Colmar is a beautiful town and for 6 euros the 35 minute boat trip will highlight some of the history of the town that the guide books don't necessarily mention. The friendly welcome got our holiday off to a good start and the apartment and its location provided everything we needed for a brilliant holiday. Good value and highly recommended.
