About this property
Sagebrush Caboose
Out in the wilds of the Okanagan desert, just this side of lost, is a place where you can walk down a serene path to finding you. You will find yourself diving deep into the fresh sage mountain air while enjoying nature, rugged scenery, privacy, and good times. Our guests have always rated Sagebrush Caboose 5 stars on cleanliness! Our unique place offers a queen size luxury bed in the loft and the couch can be a double bed. Although remote and off-grid this caboose has wifi speeds of 50 mbps.
Mornings in nature don't rush you, they invite you to breathe. You can relax in our patio for four which has Adirondack chairs, a small table, solar lights, BBQ, and endless views of the night sky.
~Kitchenette~ You will find our kitchen includes a sink, a hot plate, mini fridge/freezer, basic spices, pots and pans, dining utensils and supplies, and more. On the patio is a BBQ. Since space is precious we don't waste it with extra kitchen items but you are welcome to request things like blenders, toasters, microwaves, etc.
~3 piece bathroom~ You'll find the bathroom is fully stocked with the necessities such as soap, towels, toilet paper, hooks for clothes, etc. It includes a sink with cupboard and mirror, a dual flush toilet, and a large shower.
~Queen size luxury bed~ You will find the bed located in the loft of Sagebrush Caboose. One must access the bed using a ladder, basic mobility is required to use.
~Living room~ Our living room includes a corner couch facing the cute wood stove. The couch can be arranged (bedding stored in couch compartment) as a double bed.
~Indoor Dining (and business center)~ You will find a dining space (with table and stools) located opposite the kitchenette. This space can double as a business center.
~Closet~ There is a small closet for storing luggage, shoes, etc., which is stocked with hangers.
~Comfort~ Sagebrush Caboose is equipped with air conditioning to keep you cool during the hot summer months. It also has a small wood stove and you can use a space heater for colder months. Hot water is supplied through a propane water heater.
~Outdoor patio~ You can wander up a short, lighted trail to the patio where there is a propane fire table, BBQ, shade gazebo, eating nook for 4, and 4 chairs for those lazy evenings and long talks with your significant other.
~Pool & Hot Tub Patio~ Our pool and hot tub patio is a shared space with your host and other guests. It is located about 500 meters away from Sagebrush Caboose, by your hosts' house. You will find a large, heated saltwater pool (open seasonally from mid-May to mid-September) which is about 2.25 meters deep at one end and 0.75 meters deep at the other. You're welcome to enjoy our spa which is large enough for 5 people and has 64 jets, led lights, and a waterfall. Also in this patio space is a pool house where you can change, multiple seating areas with umbrellas, sun loungers, towels, and many pool toys and floaties.
~Garden~ You are welcome to browse our garden and pick any produce you may find ripe and in season. Produce may include corn, squash, zucchini, carrots, potatoes, watermelon, lettuce, kale, spinach, cucumbers, tomatoes, cilantro, onions, garlic, peppers, apples, peaches, pears, cherries, and more.
~Farm Animals~ Our farm animals love attention and often come running to greet guests. We have goats, pigs, cows, cats, and more!
~Farm Market~ You're welcome to explore our small farm market from which we sell some of our farm products. This can include beef, eggs, honey, and more.
~E-bike, UTV, Horseback Rentals~ We arrange rentals for our guests, please ask us for more details. A popular destination for e-bike rentals is the District Wine Village. Guests love to ride the wild range above us on horseback or UTV.
~Nearby Venues~ We are located rurally about 10 minutes drive from OK Falls and from Oliver (halfway between). We can message you with details on nearby venues but it includes hiking trails, biking, grocery stores, ice cream or coffee shops, golf courses, wineries, restaurants, lakes and more.
Our Caboose is off-grid, relying on solar power (with a generator backup for extended cloudy periods). Connect with your family with basking in the tranquility of a mountain forest retreat!
The final 3/4 kilometer to Sagebrush Caboose is a graveled mountain road where an SUV is recommended; although many cars (and motorcycles) have gone up without issues. The genre at Sagebrush Caboose is a rural, remote, wild experience which won't be found off of some highway; and we are looking to connect with guests who specifically want this nature experience.
