About this property

Peaceful Detached Cottage Studio French Countryside Private Garden Nature Lovers

This cute cottage is located just outside (1 kilometre) the historic and pretty village of Champagne-Mouton, in the Charente Limousine.
The cottage sits in its own grounds with beautiful gardens offering plenty of privacy but with the owners property just 100 meters away should you need them. Your host Catherine is originally from Champagne-Mouton, so she is the perfect guide to the area if needed, she speaks English, French and Spanish, she also teaches French.

The Gite is set up like an openplan studio of approximately 40 sqm, with a double bed, fully equipped kitchen with gas cooker, microwave and crockery etc. There is a seperate shower roomand toilet inside the Gite. All linens and towels are provided and included in the price.

The Gite has free Wifi. There is a French TV provided.

Outside there are table and chairs for dining alfresco. There are also sunloungers for relaxing and soaking up the sun or sleeping in the shade of the trees. Perfect for star gazing under the star filled sky which is free from all light and noise pollution.

Just a short 1 kilometre from the property is the village of Champagne-Mouton where you will find a small supermarket, Boulangerie, Bar, Post Office, Garage, Pharmacie, Doctors and much more available in the nearby towns of Confolens, Ruffec, Civray and Chasseneuil sur Bonnieure.

There is a Charcoal BBQ provided.

a special place in nature

a special place in nature, in a quaint little house, with old trees and still intact wildlife, with salamanders, owls, and a cat that comes by every now and then. The landlady is always available and super friendly, but you will also find enough peace there if you are looking for peace and quiet and want to escape the world for a while. In the nearby town you can find everything you need for life: a supermarket, bakery, post office and a tobacco shop. We had a very pleasant stay there for 5 weeks and enjoyed the peace and nature.

Ideal traditional French holiday location.

Ideally situated out of the village in lovely peaceful grounds & rural sorroundings, yet convinient for local supermarket / fuel & bar/restaurant. If you want a "Traditional French experience" then this is it with top marks. The Gite is ideally furnished & very very Comfortuble.The ambience of it, wonderful, whether morning, noon or night. The landlady has got it 100% right. That also goes the same for the outside area. We were there in wet days, warm days and extremely hot days, and it was perfect. French countryside, nature and culture at its best. Great place for trips out to all sorts of places. The landlady is extremely helpfull & knowlagable, if help is needed. As she is a French/English teacher, there is no language barrier and has a sence of humour. A lovely lady that you will enjoy renting her Gite. Thanks

Good place to relax!

Trotz des teilweise schlechtem Wetter lässt sich eine herrliche Landschaft genießen. Die Vermieterin ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. In Champagne Mouton gibt es alles, was man braucht. Supermarkt, Tankstelle, tolle Bäckerei, sehr gutes Lokal, Apotheke.... Wir sind nächstes Jahr bestimmt wieder dort.

Veritable havre de paix au milieu de la nature

Des vacances reposantes et ressourcantes dans un cadre idyllique. Calme tranquillité ambiance zen et nature et une region pleine d'histoire a découvrir . Tranquile, situe prive, gerante formdable

J’aimai beaucoup la tranquilite et que la maison est situe tres prive. Je voulai etre une semaine toute seule pour me reposer, lire, dornir et prendre la soleil. C’etait une maison perfect pour moi. La gerante est formidable, elle etait la quand j’avais besoin de quelque chose.
