Extremely disappointing and unacceptable experienceWe booked this property for 12 nights but left after just two due to the unacceptable condition of the accommodation.On arrival, the outside bins were overflowing and smelt terrible, with rubbish scattered around the property. We had to deal with some of this ourselves. Inside, the property was poorly maintained, with damaged door hinges, a hole in the wall and other concerning maintenance issues. We were particularly worried about the possibility of asbestos-containing material being exposed.The house was also unbearably hot, making sleeping extremely uncomfortable. We purchased fans at our own expense simply to make the accommodation tolerable.We contacted the host, who initially apologised and offered to arrange cleaning and repairs. However, these issues should have been addressed before guests arrived. Communication subsequently deteriorated, and our messages went unanswered.Rather than enjoying our stay, we spent considerable time documenting problems, contacting the host and Stayz, and eventually finding and paying for alternative accommodation.The experience caused significant stress and disruption to our family. We expected a clean, safe, comfortable and properly maintained property, particularly given the amount we paid.The photographs and listing did not accurately reflect our experience of the property. We would not stay here again and cannot recommend this accommodation.
