First off, we enjoyed our stay. The firepit and ample free firewood was a plus. Beds were reasonably comfortable. Plenty of kitchen utensils, good fridge. But, wife was turned off by the smell in the first bathroom. Smelled like pee around the toilet. I did some toilet cleaning of the gunk seen when you lift the lower seat. I could not remove it all. Then my wife cleaned the outside of the lower toilet below the seat. That seems to have eliminated the smell. Also, my wife noticed some cobwebs in the kitchen over the sink. She knocked them down with a rag on a broom. And later, when I went to plug in the small tv that we brought, I had to reach down to the floor next to the living room book shelf. The electrical plugs are on the floor, not on the wall. Well, when I reached down, my hand encountered a large accumulation of cob or spider webs, several inches high. kind of alarming. I did get the tv plugged in, but I did not reach down there when I unplugged it. Consensus, housekeeping needs to get their act together. Would I stay there again? Yes, but hoping this review gets owners aware of cleaning issues.
