About this property

The BeachHouze boasts an open kitchen, living and dining area. Bedrooms are set up with one queen and one adult sized bunk bed - add the couch in the living room and this place is perfect for larger groups. With a focus on Mid century design, this Houze is filled with unique vintage items from a simpler time when the focus wasn't on quantity but instead on simplicity and quality craftsmanship- something we admire greatly and want to keep alive. Outside there is plenty to see and do, and as our guest, you get access to all 10 acres with complete privacy, all while being right next to everything Warrenton and Round Top has to offer.

We’ve made some awesome changes to the BeachHouze recently that you’re really gonna love – a new hot tub and expanded deck for your outdoor relaxation and enjoyment! ??Oh, and did we mention that our guests of the BeachHouze may access the shipping container pool at The FlopHouze as well as receive 10% off at our on-site store Recycling the Past? ??Head on over to our Flophouzes for more fun during your stay!

Wonderful stay at private property with close proximity to Round Top

We’ve had a lovely stay with our kids (5 and 6). We brought kids fishing rods for the kids and they LOVED fishing in the pond (and they were pretty successful too. We liked how quiet it was and how private the property felt, yet only minutes away from Round Top. I definitly recommend staying here!

Lovely stay!

This home is lovely. It was super clean, well equipped, private and had ample space for our family of 4 + pup. The property is beautiful and the pond provided hours of fun for catch and release fishing.

Nestled amongst the live oaks, our newest Flophouze Rental is a two bedroom, one bathroom tree house style loft close to Excess Field in Warrenton- just a few minutes away from the heart of Round Top. The House was originally built by hippies in the 1970's who were looking to escape the chaos of the big city. Matt White, owner of Flophouze and Recycling the Past, immediately fell in love with this unique haven and purchased the property a few years back. Up until now, he's been using it as his own personal residence during his visits to Round Top and is now offering it to our guests as a place to stay.

Why they chose this property

Our uniquely designed interiors are cladded with sustainably harvested wood from our farm in upstate New York, and reclaimed lumber from a distillery in Kentucky. To capture the vast pastoral views and great natural light, windows were installed that were salvaged from a school in Philadelphia that was slated for demolition. We keep the funky vibe going with kitchen cabinet bases from a laboratory in Brooklyn, and for the counter tops we used old bowling alley floors from Texas! The floors are the original to the containers, which have traveled the world may times over- with the many vintage artifacts rugs, art and fixtures gleaned from our travels across the globe and amazing finds from the Round Top Antiques Show, each HOUZE will offer you a unique place to stay.

Upon your arrival, each HOUZE will have complimentary coffee and tea, Topochico sparkling water, and Mexican Cokes. Just a short drive away in Round Top, there is a market for light snacks and other goodies. If you feel up for some swimming and fishing, Fayette Lake is right around the corner. Outside, every houze comes with its own hammock, firepit and comfy chairs to relax and enjoy the famous Round Top sunsets. Every detail of this property has been carefully crafted to ensure that your stay is a comfortable and memorable one.
