About this property

Great lakefront property on Manistee Lake with recently remodeled patio area.

This cottage offers 2,400 sqft spread over 3 floors including a rare lakefront walkout on Manistee Lake. We are positioned on the south side of the lake to take in the breathtaking sunrise and sunsets.

The elevated deck AND patio area are very unique for Manistee Lake or most Northern MI cottage lake homes. Plenty of area for multiple family members to relax in chaise lounge chairs or Adirondack chairs in the sand pit or swivel chairs, outdoor couch and 4 person high top on the upper deck level.

There are 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The upstairs bedroom features a queen and twin bed. The main floor bedroom has a queen bed. The walkout features a queen bedroom and a loft area with a full bed and twin bunkbeds.

The cottage is conveniently located 12 minutes northeast of Kalkaska and within a few miles of snowmobile, side by side and ATV trails while providing all sports lake access. There is a boat launch a few hundred yards away at the state park yet cottage is located on a very private dead end street.

The lake has a sandy bottom and very clear to the last dock section. There are several different species of fish (we have yanked 18" pikes out) and depths range from 12 to 18 feet deep yet plenty deep for renters to bring in their own or rented boat for tubing, fishing or simple boat trolling cruises (there are eagle nests on the northern edge of the lake). Manistee Lake offers picturesque sunsets that cannot be missed especially from a boat view.

Family Vacation

We found this house kind of late for booking a holiday week, but it turned out to be perfect for our group. Lovely decor and accommodations, a clear and beautiful lake (with loons!!), nice neighbors, and an upper deck that was perfect for night sky viewing after playing in the lake all day. Adorable getaway!

Wonderful cottage right on the lake. Cute decor, amazing views, and accommodating owners. The house is stocked with all the basic amenities including a basket of snacks. Everything was very clean which allowed us to settle right in and enjoy the weekend. Very relaxing area with a short ride to restaurants and ski resorts. Highly recommend.

Family vacation

We came up to the property with the family for a week. We had a great time. The house had everything we needed. Very clean and spacious. Loved being directly on the lake. Beautiful views. Clear directions from hosts. We have little ones and they had a great time as well. We would recommend this rental to others and definitely be back. It was also a plus to rent the boat from the neighbor down the lake.

Shore Shack for the WIN!!!

We generally head south to Alabama and Florida beaches for vacation, but after staying here and experiencing Northern Michigan, we are forever changes. We had an AMAZING time in and could not have asked for a better place to stay. Todd and Debbie’s place was perfect and they thought of everything. If we needed something they had it. The kayaks and paddle boards got us out on the water for some fun and their lovely neighbors were so great to talk to for the week. We will 100% be back.

Great summer getaway

This house is great for family. The hosts are great and thoughtful. They have recommendations for things to do and supply things at the house to keep all ages busy. The kids loved swimming both at the house and at the little beach that is a short walk away that also includes a playground. House is clean and updated with plenty of space. We have family in the area and we use to have a family cabin on Manistee Lake so it’s meaningful that we can find a place to come back to with my kids. Thanks for sharing your house with us.

Great lakeside getaway

We enjoyed our time. It was three couples, which worked perfectly since there is a bedroom/full bath on each floor. The home was very clean and had a great view. They also had a lot of water toys you could enjoy and the home was well stocked! They had a nice dock, not far from launch, and walk to water. They guys enjoyed fishing. Very family friendly. It's 15 min from town. Tips: Bring drinking water and K-cups for the Keurig. We are regular coffee people, so we had to run in town and get a cheap coffee pot.

A perfect Michigan location!

My family had a great stay at this clean and modern lake house, it was the perfect size for our family of 10. It sits on a quiet street, next to the beautiful Manistee Lake, and is located within driving distance to several popular Michigan tourists areas. It was very clean and the outdoor lakeside area of the house was awesome! We enjoyed several meals on the nice deck overlooking the lake, and the fire pit next to the lake was a perfect location for star gazing. The check-in process was very easy, and communication with the owners was quick which helped make our stay much better as they were full of great information about the area. Being our first family vacation to Michigan, this property was perfect!

Only a 3 hour drive from Metro Detroit yet can easily access Traverse City, Charlevoix, etc

There are pontoon and jet ski rental available options at any of the websites below and encourage booking your reservation as early as possible as boat and jet ski rentals are very popular in Northern MI during the Summer months. Most boat rental companies will seek a minimum 2-3 day rental period.
