This lake home was amazing! So clean and cozy and very well taken care of. They really go above and beyond to supply everything you might need & more! We rented a pontoon from someone the owners suggested and it worked out perfectly! Nice lake & swimming too! Beautiful!
A Every detail was thought of at this beautiful lake escape! Our family had an amazing time here. The kitchen it high-end and has everything you'd possibly need. All the beds and pillows were so comfortable! The outdoor areas were very well kept. Our son really enjoyed all the lawn games that were in the toy shed. The owners are wonderful with communication and the pontoon referral worked out perfectly! We will be back again:)
This place is absolutely beautiful and fully stocked with everything and more. It was the best place by far that we have stayed. So comfortable and cozy! High end home with lovely owners!
We spent a long weekend with friends and their infant son at the Bone Lake Escape. The cabin is beautiful and has all the amenities. We highly recommend staying here!
Incredible home! Laura & Jason were the BEST hosts I have ever rented from. They were responsive and quick to questions and provided the most amenities I have ever seen. Everything from outdoor toys to a stocked kitchen with spices, condiments, coffee & tea, and smores fixings. The bathrooms were stocked with prime essentials for hair and skin and the beds were super comfortable. The pictures don't do the house justice. It was a gorgeous home and the yard is even prettier than the photos. The lake was fun. We saw tons of wildlife, including a family of swans and eagles galore. Loved the ice cream boat too!
This place was the perfect cabin. So nice and clean on the inside with a perfect yard for activities in a quiet area. Have already recommended to many friends. Thanks so much!

The property was gorgeous. We enjoyed sitting on the deck, by the fire pit and on the dock overlooking the lake-very peaceful. The home was beautiful, well kept up, and well-stocked with what we needed for our stay. Loved the structure and decor. There were four of us there, siblings spending time together to honor the memory of our mom who passed almost 10 years ago. Lots of laughs, a few tears, and some great discussions. We all agreed that it was a home we could see ourselves coming back to .

We had a great time and the house was beautiful and offered everything we needed and more. The only thing we would have liked is a better spot for swimming off dock

Thank you for the feedback concerning swimming off the dock. We have now added sand and a beach area that has improved the swimming off the dock area.
The property is exactly as it looks in the pictures, if not better. The house was incredibly stocked and very kid friendly. Bed were comfortable and towels were soft and fluffy. Owners were very responsive.
We hiked one afternoon at Straight Lake State Park (only a few miles away) and had a lovely time.

The house & location are fantastic! It was more than enough for our family of 4 to spread out, & the huge, flat backyard was great. The lake is ideal for all the fun: fishing, tubing, sand bars & a restaurant. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home! It had everything!

Thank you for staying at Bone Lake Escape. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay!
The home, yard, amenities, everything could not have been better! The home was beautiful, with thoughtful touches to ensure a comfortable stay. The back yard was a great place to play or sit by the fire. The beautiful lake and surrounding area provided lots to do. Laura and Jason are wonderful hosts.
Bone Lake Retreat is a well-kept, relaxing spot perfect for a getaway . Nestled among whispering pines and serene waters , the retreat offers a blend of comfort and natural beauty that encourages guests to unwind and reconnect. Whether you prefer quiet mornings on the dock 🛶, afternoons exploring local trails , or evenings gathered by a crackling fire , Bone Lake Retreat promises both tranquility and memorable experiences for all who visit. We appreciated the thoughtful touches throughout the cabin , from cozy blankets draped over couches to the welcoming kitchen area . Large windows framed peaceful views of the lake and forest , flooding the living spaces with gentle morning light . In the evenings, the quiet was punctuated only by the distant call of loons 🦆 and the soft rustle of leaves . Such attention to comfort and detail made it easy to settle in and feel at home , allowing us to focus on what mattered most: creating lasting memories together .
Four of us stayed at “Bone Lake Escape” for 4 nights; my husband and I along with his sister and her husband. The home is lovely with absolutely everything we needed to be immediately comfortable. We cooked every meal except one in the well supplied kitchen. Appliances are all like new and latest models. Beds are cozy and comfortable and the neighborhood is quiet. The living area has plenty of great seating to encourage long conversations. The dock is perfect for our fishing boat and the boat dock is less than a mile away which was very convenient. The back yard is huge and beautifully maintained. It is a great place to stay; we will be back!

Dean was a fabulous guest, very considerate and took care of our home as it was his own. We hope to have Dean and his group back for another stay!!
Beautiful cabin, very well stocked with wood flooring and lovely decor. It was cleaned very well with comfy beds. The living room area is very cozy but the 2 chairs are awkward and uncomfortable which was a bummer. We enjoyed the fireplace and the fresh snow outside. We XC skied nearby at Trade River Trail and it was wonderful. We had a fun, short stay!

Hi Erica,
Thank you for the feedback on Bone Lake Escape. Our chairs in the living room are recliners but don't look like recliners. I need to make notes in our guest handbook that the chair recline and are very comfortable once reclined. I apologize for not letting you know about the recliners. We are glad you were able to enjoy the trails, as they are beautiful. Thank you again, we hope you will come back again

We had such a lovely time at Bone Lake Escape! The house was completely immaculate and well suited for a couple or small group. Plus, such a bonus that we could bring our dog. We spent our days exploring the many close-by hiking trails and enjoyed lakeside bonfires in the evening. The house is well stocked with kitchen supplies and the bed and bath linens and toiletries made us feel like we were at a five-star hotel. We will be back for sure!

About the host
Hosted by Laura and Jason
Jason and Laura live in Bayport, MN and purchased this property as their retirement home. They plan on moving into the home eventually after their youngest graduates from high school. They love to bicycle, hike, fish and do home improvement projects. They like to share the property for people to enjoy it as much as they we do. Bone lake is one of their favorite lakes in NW Wisconsin.
Why they chose this property
The home is west facing on a level .92 acre lot with mature trees. The lakeside tree canopy offers shade without obscuring the lake view while dining on the deck or sitting by the fire. The dock bench allows views of the moon, stars, sunsets and is perfect for morning coffee or fishing. The property also affords a myriad of opportunities to experience nature without going anywhere, including ducks, geese, trumpeter swans, beaver, a wide variety of birds, red squirrel, chipmunks, and the occasional black bear sighting! The home feels fairly secluded while being walking distance to Bone Lake Park and the north Boat launch. In addition, there are many year round activities within a 20 mile radius such as wineries, breweries, restaurants, ATV, snowmobiles, hiking, golfing, state parks, bike trails, etc.
What makes this property unique
The home is fairly secluded yet only 2 blocks from Bone Lake park and north end boat launch, sits on a .92 acre lot with lots of nature to experience. The home handicap accessible, with an entrance ramp, accessible 6' wide dock and master shower. All interior door widths are at least 32". The home is also dog friendly with a fenced area for pets.
