About 45 minutes from Shreveport/Bossier City, our lake house is located on a quiet curve of Lake Bistineau, known for its Spanish Moss-draped cypress trees and lovely sunsets.
The annual draw down of the lake has finished and the gates are closed. The lake is slowly filling up. Please inquire as to the water level.

This was our 2nd time staying there this summer! Mary is the absolute best! We love the property and will 100% stay there everytime we come to Lousiana! So many memories made. Perfect lake house!
My sisters and I enjoyed a quiet stay in this unique little lake house. Our host was so kind to leave homemade cookies. My sisters said the cookies were delicious!
Host is very helpful and responsive! She was very helpful and responded to texts even at late night. The friendly neighborhood dogs who roam around this property makes this place so homely.
The two adjoining properties were perfect for our family gathering to celebrate an 80th birthday. Our group ranged from 9-82 years old and everyone had a great time and enjoyed the accommodations.
We are obsessed with everything about this gem that is not far from our home! From the house to the house boat we loved everything about it. The view was amazing. We looked forward in waking up in the morning to drink a cup of coffee on the screen porch. Also, loved the fact Shreveport is not that far with a great selection of things to do. We will 100% be back!!!
Beautiful Place to stay! Mary is a wonderful host. If you needed anything she has it there. We had a wonderful time celebrating Easter with friends and family. The kids enjoyed the lake and there's so much room and things to do. Not a dull moment, such a great place to get away
We loved our stay at the red lake house !! It rained most of the weekend. We loved listening to the rain on the roof. The host was super friendly and baked us cookies !!
We loved this place! Great hidden gem. Our group loved the screened In porch and the fishing on the dock in the evening and night. Great place for us to hang out with our family. Mary was great at communicating and offering solutions. We had a power outage and Mary reached out immediately to make sure all was well. Property was clean and peaceful.
We loved this house on the lake. The house was very clean and had everything we needed for the long weekend. The covered screened in porch was the perfect spot for coffee in the mornings and to relax in the evenings. The host is so sweet and quickly responds to messages. There is plenty of room to enjoy the outdoors or spend time in the water. There are plenty of games for both indoors and outdoors. The extra beds upstairs makes this great for a large family.
We chose this place to stay for my cousins wedding. The owner was very responsive and comforting. She baked up home made cookies to start which were delicious. The house was smaller than we thought but was very quaint and homey. The one down side is the lack of curtains on all the windows, but it could also take away from all the natural light.
All in all, we would 100% book this house again. Would recommend to anyone looking for a quick getaway with a very caring host.
Mary was amazing the entire time. Her response time was so fast. Asked for an early check in because we came from ND. She not only gave us an early check in but also a late checkout. The internet went down u messaged her and within minutes she called me and walked me through trying to fix it. The view is amazing. This place has everything. Games, kayaks, fishing gear, swimming pad, the house if fully stocked with everything you may need. We loved our stay. 100% would stay again!!
Our family had an amazing visit, despite the weather, and made some great memories here. Mary provided everything we needed, and then some. Know that it is an old house, and that’s part of it’s charm, so there are some rustic, quirky elements to be expected. If you don’t mind that the bathroom is downstairs while the beds are upstairs, you’ll have a great time. If you happen to be a light sleeper, and have traveling companions who go to the bathroom during the night, you may want to have them sleep downstairs on the sofa sleeper or bring an air mattress, just to keep from making trips up and down, and potentially waking other sleepers. Otherwise, A++
Everything you could possibly need for a good, relaxing time on the lake, it’s all here!
Very thing was great and easy checkin/out. We would definitely do it again.

Why they chose this property
We had been looking for a peaceful getaway for several years. This one was the one! It is truly our "happy place," and we love that others can enjoy it, too!
What makes this property unique
The Red Camp is unique in that it is set on a peaceful corner of Lake Bistineau, yet is less than an hour from all the city activities of Shreveport, Bossier City and Ruston, Louisiana. You can just relax on the porch or dock, or spend your time fishing, swimming, kayaking, or playing pool or darts in the boat house!
