Whispering Pines is the perfect getaway cabin for that much-needed family getaway to the mountain! This two-level mountain home is well-equipped and offers a rural, yet elegant interior decor that will please everyone in your group. Prepare delicious homemade meals in the fully-equipped kitchen, or treat your friends to memorable snacks for that fun movie night you've been planing. The spacious living room area has a flatscreen TV and plenty of comfortable furniture for you all to relax on. If you happen to visit during cold months, the wood-burning stove will warm up the entire place in a matter of minutes. However, if you visit during summer, outside is a great place for the kids to play. This retreat also boasts a spacious deck equipped with an outdoor dining area and even a gas grill–get ready to host cookouts and surprise your friends with delicious meals!

Whispering Pines is within walking distance to the Sierra Cedars Pond, but if you'd like to experience something more 'city-like', you can always drive three and a half miles up north to Shaver Lake Heights. There, dining options will be at your fingertips. Stock up with goodies and veggies at Bob's Shaver Lake Market or try one of the many local restaurants. One of California’s premier waterskiing and fishing lakes is less than four miles away. Yes, we're talking about Shaver Lake. It’s popular for water sports activities that include water skiing, jet skis, and windsurfing. Canoeing and kayaking are perfect activities thanks to the Shaver’s quiet coves. More adventurous people would totally visit the China Peak Mountain Resort, which is 22 miles north. This resort features seven chair lifts, two rope tows, and 1,679 feet of vertical skiing.

Quite an upgrade

Initially we rented another cabin. In addition to smelling like moldy cigarettes, it had electrical issues, flickering lights, low water pressure, no hot water, and a stove that didn’t work. But before I could complain Vacasa was on it. They immediately moved us to this wonderful place so that we could enjoy my pregnant wife’s birthday and our anniversary. This house was more than we ever expected. It’s nice, it was clean, and it was in a beautiful location with a beautiful yard. It has a great patio surrounded by tall trees and large boulders with a giant wooden table where we ate all our meals. Would love to stay here again.

Location was great, it was quiet and almost no vehicle traffic. It was perfect for my kids to play outside safely. The cabin is beautiful inside and out. Plenty of space the whole family. Will definitely be returning!

Family weekend at the lake

The house was nice and big! Enough room for the whole family. Everything was clean. The only thing we struggled with was having enough hot water for everyone to shower. Hot water ran out after 2 of us showered and we only used the shower downstairs. Other than that everything else inside the house was great! In the outdoors though I was surprised and startled by a baby bear while trying to get the keylock open, thankfully my husband saw and honked which scared it away. I know we were in the outdoors but I just never had that happen to me so yeah I was scared, so we spent our whole stay indoors while on the property. The time at the lake was great!

We took our daughter and son in law with our 2 yr old grandson! There was snow on the ground and was able to have a little sled time in the back yard area! So much fun! The house is very comfy, and the kitchen is VERY well stocked! (No use of garage) 2 bedrooms upstairs and then a “secret” room on 3rd floor! Will definitely keep this house on our radar!

Great Getaway Home for Family

The home was a nice relaxing place for my family and I. We also enjoyed playing outside, in the back of the property, in the snow. There was so much snow all around, it was beautiful. Everyone had fun and we would definitely go back again!
