Great property that had everything our family needed for a fun week! Easy drive to Eagle River, St. Germain, Minocqua, and all the area has to offer. Stopped in at the nearby resort where they have a lovely lodge and lake views - be sure to try their bison meatballs!
A simple and quaint cottage to escape the busy pace of life. The deer are always curious and the calmness of lake eases the soul. The owner is always responsive, professional and kind!
The photos provided in the listing don't do this place justice! We were thrilled and hope to return next year.

By far the best place we have ever stayed. Fishing was decent and wonderful weather which was a plus. Property was well maintained, clean and extremely comfortable. We look forward to hopefully staying here again. Thank you so much for making this property available for rent.

The property was great for our annual fishing trip. Modern upgrades but still felt like a Northwoods cabin. The View of the lake was incredible and the dock worked well for us. Definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.
We have rented from same owner for last few years. Always a fantastic and consistent experience. Clean, great communication and responsiveness, beautiful views and property. Great for kids. We look forward to renting every summer!
We stayed in the fall for our annual grouse hunting trip. The place really works well for our group as we hunt down the road. It has everything you need. Getting a hold of the property manager is easy. It has a Keurig and a coffee maker and a nice gas fireplace.
We really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful lake home! You absolutely cannot beat the view, and so close to the water. The pictures don’t do it justice, as the decor, kitchen and rest of the house are very tastefully done. Beds are very comfy, and bathroom with washer/dryer is super nice. The lake itself is clean and we were even able to float off the dock. Neighbors very friendly and overall just a great stay. Make sure to go to the resort for some cocktails and apps—great food and service, and nice people.
Went in the fall. Nice and quiet at that time. Second to the last house at the end of the road. Very roomy. Pets with permission. Plenty of utensils pots and pans. Two sets of steps to get to the house. Good view of Dam lake so you can sit out on the deck. Lots of seating.
This was a very nicely updated cabin with lake access. I only wish there were a kayak or something available to go out on the lake with. I know we could have rented but we made the best of it. Location is a plus seeing there’s lots to do in so many different towns close by. Hopefully they will update the deck at some point cause it could use some real TLC. Other than that this was a very nice place. I would recommend it to anyone.
Wow this place is nothing short of amazing!! The house is beautiful and has plenty of space to relax at night and play games. The outside of the property is the real seller; right on the lake with a beautiful view! A nice dock and easy access to swim/wade. There are plenty of chairs to sit around a large fire pit. It was a perfect weekend-thank you to the host for making this a memorable place to visit. Will definitely be back!! (Tip to visitors, bring your own paper towel/napkins/Pam cooking spray/etc!)
Great location for our family and our two dogs! The neighborhood was quiet, house is right on the water and the lake worked great for swimming, tubing, and fishing.
Kitchen was very nice and well stocked with a great view of the lake. The bedrooms and bathrooms worked out great for our two teens, and gave everyone adequate room and privacy when needed. TV and internet was nice for when it rained out and the Dry Dock was perfect for a couple board games on the gloomy days.
Owner was responsive and got back to me quickly with questions and concerns. For those of you bringing boats, I was able to dock our 18' aluminum Lund on the house dock for the week. I let the owner know the tie downs need some TLC but I was able to tie directly to the dock without any issue.
House was dog friendly; we had room for our kennels (we have two labs) and the bags the owner provides for cleanup worked great. Water entry was dog friendly and they were able to get numerous swims everyday. With the firepit right by the lake, they'd go swimming then we'd relax with a fire and some beverages while they dried off.
Lake activity was reasonable; quiet in the morning before 10am typically and after 6pm. Everyone that was tubing, boating, etc...was respectful and gave everyone room regardless of what we were doing (tubing or fishing).
Public boat landing was about a mile away and was in good shape.
We stayed in mid October for our annual grouse hunting trip. The weather wasn't the best but that's Wisconsin. The house had all we needed, beds were comfortable Nice sized kitchen with many utensils pots and pans, It does have a Keurig coffee maker so bring K-Cups. We created an account so we received the email for check in. Nice gas fireplace. Plenty of seating. . Almost at the end of the road. Good sized TV, and a stereo.
We had a great time with our family. Didn't catch many fish, but the lake was great for swimming and tubing. Loved being steps from the lake and was a short drive to stores, restaurants and other activities for all ages. Love this area!
I would recommend this place to stay. Great location, very clean house, and level lot to the water. Hope to stay there next year! Communication with Gary was great and he answered any questions we had.
Our lakeside rental was everything we hoped it would be. The cabin was clean, comfortable, and not too far from Eagle River restaurants and fun (just under 20 minutes). The online listing did not show pics of the kitchen, but it was better than we anticipated. Thank you!
The home was very well cared for and the view was so peaceful! While the host was very prompt to respond when I messaged first, the lack of communication caused me some anxiety. We received no check in information ahead of time (but again, when I asked, he responded quickly) - I guess I was supposed to have received an email but I never did. A guest handbook would have been helpful - we completely guessed at check out procedures and I’m hoping we didn’t do/not do something we should/shouldn’t have….But perhaps those things were in the email I never received? One other thing, it lists a coffee maker on site but it does not specify it’s a Kuerig, so we were definitely unprepared with no k-cups (we’re old school and don’t have a kuerig at home). Regardless, was still a wonderful stay and we had a great time. The property is beautiful and I would recommend others to stay here!

Liked: Cleanliness, location, listing accuracy
Disliked: Check-in, communication
Had a great time
Pictures of listing are accurate. Lake access is great with a zero entry on foot and dock that can be used for fishing or boating. Neighborhood is quiet.
Didn't get a confirmation on how to enter property and a phone call to POC was unanswered and unreturned during stay. Fortunately a side door was open or we would have been stuck outside in the cold without a place to stay.
This Northwoods retreat is tucked away in the forest and sits on a beautiful chain of navigable lakes. Fishing is great along with tubing and powerboat activities. Swimming off the pier is safe and enjoyable. The home is well decorated and furnished. Great location to many activities.
The only problem is time passes too quickly.
We hope to return next year.
We hope to return
This is a beautiful house and a large lot. Lots of room for my dog to sniff, quiet neighbors and plenty of bird songs, including loons. Highly recommend.
This was great. Great amenities. Nice to not have cable or wifi. Right on the lake. Good beach and yard. Be careful when parking a boat. There are no bumpers on the pier so if you're not careful you could dent/scratch the boat. We will definitely be back!
I was raised just 2 miles down the road and lived here until college. Growing up on this Chain of Lakes was incredible. We spent countless hours camping, fishing, swimming, boating, ice-fishing and counting shooting stars. I wouldn't trade the experience for anything.
Why they chose this property
Having grown up as a kid on this Chain of Lakes, it has always been my dream to once again live on this chain. I purchased a home just minutes away 5 years ago so I wasn't looking to move, however, I couldn't pass this cabin up when it came up for sale. Being able to share the beauty of Dam Lake and the Sugar Camp Chain with visitors to the northwoods is the reason I purchased this home. Enjoy!
What makes this property unique
I always like to refer our Chain of Lakes to visitors as the "Northern Everglades". No gators, however, once you tour the 5 lakes by boat you'd know what I mean. Seventy Five percent of our twenty-five plus miles of shoreline are owned by the State of Wisconsin, thus keeping many acres of shoreline in its natural wilderness state. Sizes of our lakes range from the smallest of 107 acres to the largest of 744 acres, all connected with hundreds of acres of winding thoroughfares. Lake depths range up to 40’ deep. Our lakes are spring and wetland fed with various creeks. Our chain of lakes eventually runs into the Rainbow Flowage at the dam on Dam Lake and on into the Wisconsin River and exits at the Gulf of Mexico. If you visit during the spring/summer/fall seasons, I urge you to take a tour of the chain. Absolutely stunning.
